The pool and area around it is very clean, no chlorine is felt. All this is supervised by a very responsible worker. Towels are provided.
Restaurant. The breakfasts were a buffet. There is a choice, everything is delicious. Food was constantly served, so there was no shortage. We had lunch and dinner at the restaurant sometimes, everything was delicious and I would say not expensive.
The territory of the hotel is small, but very well-groomed and beautiful. Katsiveli itself is a small village, there is nowhere to go there. There are a couple of shops and cafes. A beautiful park was closed for visiting. There is no baby food and a pharmacy - only in Simeiz, but it’s not a problem to get there. The bus stops right next to the hotel. We even went to Yalta. There is an excellent water park 500m from the hotel, but expensive.
The hotel has a lot of different entertainment, I will not write, everything is on the site.
The beach is next to the hotel, but a steep hill (small) leads to it, it was hard to climb back))). The beach is quite clean, pebbles, the sea and the bottom are also very clean, the bottom is gentle and beautiful. More along the line of the sea, we did not see where else you can swim, everywhere there are large stones.
In general, we are very satisfied with the rest, the only minus is far from the airport (we drove by car quite quickly and 2 hours). It was hard for the kids.
I would like to express my deep gratitude to the hotel! We liked it very much! The only wish is to add babysitting services to the services. We really missed it)))
But there is no entertainment, in the evening there is nowhere to go without a car. But this is not a minus for the hotel, this is its concept. Therefore, the hotel is not for parties, but for a relaxing holiday. We went either to Yalta or somewhere else.
I liked everything, we recommend with pleasure!
Accommodation. We lived in the western building near the pool in a standard category A room. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The room has: a kettle, a set of necessary utensils, slippers. The bathroom also has towels and the necessary cosmetics: shampoo, shower gel, soap, toothbrushes. Shampoo and shower gel, if necessary, during the cleaning of the room was always replenished, towels and bed linen were changed on demand. Cleaning in the rooms is always done with high quality at the request of vacationers.
The territory is small, but well planned with many terraces for relaxation. Nice and always clean swimming pool with hydromassage. There are always beach towels near the pool. There are always enough free sun loungers throughout the day.
Nutrition. The breakfast buffet is quite varied, everyone can choose something to their liking. The food was constantly replenished, so there were no empty trays. Separately, I want to mention very tasty freshly baked croissants. Lunch and dinner at the restaurant. The menu is varied and the food is delicious. In order not to wait for the order in the restaurant, we ordered food from the waiters 40 minutes before lunch or dinner and came at the agreed time, which is certainly convenient with a child.
The hotel staff is beyond praise. Always friendly and will help solve any of your problems.
Children. Most of the guests at the hotel are families with children. For the child we were given a crib with a mattress. Children's bed linen must be taken from home. For breakfast, a child can always choose porridge, kefir, yogurt. The restaurant has a children's menu and high chairs. The choice of children's menu is small, but you can always ask the waiters to cook what your child eats. Therefore, it was possible to feed the baby without problems. There is also a very good playground for children. There was no animation for children this year.
The city beach is a five minute walk from the hotel.
Often in reviews they write about the smell of treatment facilities that are located next to the hotel. Sometimes (this year much less often than in the past) the smell is heard in the numbers of windows that overlook the treatment facilities. Given this nuance, it is best to live in the western and central buildings. The hotel administration is trying to solve this problem, but this also requires the efforts of local authorities.
Our wishes for the hotel:
- organize children's animation in the hotel;
- to resolve the issue of improving the beach for vacationers in the hotel.
In general, we are very satisfied with our vacation at the Alexandria Hotel, so if we rest in the Crimea, it will be only in our beloved Alexandria.
The village is quiet, not overloaded with unnecessary unobtrusive service for those who want to earn money. Life in the hotel at a high level. Vacationers of the Alexandria Hotel can choose what they like depending on personal preferences: from purely “hotel” recreation (exercise equipment, swimming pools, sauna, restaurant, 3-D TV, playground, etc. ) to “wild” Hiking along the forest and mountain protected paths along the Black Sea coast. I am grateful to the Crimeans and employees of the Alexandria Hotel for their good attitude, excellent service and conscientious work. I will come back and recommend to my family and friends. And if on TV they [they will be sure! )))] talk about how bad it is - think about who is talking and for what purpose. Everything is there: water, electricity, gasoline, food, and most importantly - peace, quiet and confidence in the future!
So the pros:
1. Before the trip, I looked through the Internet for a long time, chose between 4 options and decided on the Alexandria Hotel. Liked the photos and reviews. We were pleasantly surprised that the photos and information are 100% true. Although we arrived 2 hours early, we were seated immediately, without delay. The hotel fell in love with itself as soon as they crossed the threshold: a cool hall with comfortable armchairs and sofas, a silent elevator, polite and smiling girls at the reception desk and even a stand with umbrellas.
2. We had a two-room apartment. The room is exactly as shown on the website! Probably even better! Big, with new good furniture, huge balconies. The sea view is simply beyond words! You wake up and right from the bed you look at the sea surface.
3. Just threw the suitcases, as the child was dragged into the pool. Despite the fact that we were in August, contrary to my fears, there was no hype at the pool (apparently most tourists went to the beach). There were always free sunbeds and towels. By the way, the man at the pool just amazed us with his efficiency. Whenever we arrive, he cleans, washes, folds something. The same goes for maid girls. They don't sit idle for a minute. They clean the rooms as they put up the appropriate sign, which we were warned about at the reception. We posted the sign every other day. Cleaning was carried out qualitatively: towels, linen were changed, dishes were washed, and the shower cubicle was rubbed. In general, not every hotel has seen such a clean area.
4. There is a fairly large playground. Our child spent a lot of time there and managed to make friends with many children. Many times they were taken to the cinema right in the hotel. The little one really liked it.
5. To the sea is really 5 minutes at a slow pace. True, go down the hill there, but back up. This is the nearest beach, under the plate.
6. We had our own kitchenette in the room, so we cooked ourselves or, if we were on excursions, had a bite to eat in city cafes. We also went to the hotel restaurant a couple of times. They cook well, but a small selection of children's menu. I didn't see any dirty dishes. Prices are low, comparable to prices in inexpensive Yalta cafes.
7. You can order excursions right in the hotel lobby, which is convenient - you don't have to run far for tickets. We went on excursions ourselves, so as not to depend on the crowd of tourists like us.
8. The hotel has a gym with good exercise equipment (so my husband said, I don’t understand this myself).
Now about the minuses (you can’t even call them minuses. So, small remarks):
1. There is little entertainment in the village and almost no infrastructure: a couple of cafes, several shops, a fruit and vegetable market for 10 tents, a post office. If you want to buy meat, medicines, you have to go to Simeiz (fortunately, it’s a 10-minute drive).
2. I was embarrassed by the confusion with sunbeds on the nearest beach: either one day they are there, then the next day they are not. Although it must be admitted, the beach is wide, with medium-sized pebbles, and you could always find a free place. A couple of times we went to the beach of some sanatorium or boarding house. There is a better beach, but to go to it hoo!
3. Breakfasts in "Alexandria" could be better. We don’t eat porridge, but in addition to porridge, they offered either an omelet, or a casserole, or scrambled eggs, plus cheese-butter-bread. But everything is fresh - and okay.
4. The air conditioners in the rooms did not cool much. The temperature in the room did not fall below 26 degrees.
For our family, the pros of spending a vacation at the Alexandria Hotel outweighed the cons. They came home tanned, satisfied with the rest, with the idea of returning to Katsiveli without fail.
There was a bit of a commotion on our last day at the hotel. Later I found out that it was on the very day when we were leaving that Baskov arrived at the hotel. Terribly upset that they missed each other like that.
WELL:
- excellent interior in the room (we had Standard A) and exterior;
- a large swimming pool, which is cleaned every day;
- VERY delicious cuisine in the restaurant;
- the room has everything you need, especially pleased with the set of bath accessories;
- cleaning by hanging a sign or at the request of the administrator, they clean the shower room well, the floors... change the bed and towels;
- the prices in the restaurant are no more and no less than in Simeiz and other Katsiveli cafes... we specifically checked);
- the room has a safe, which is very convenient;
- wi-fi around the clock and pulls very well;
- Excursions right at the hotel. . . no need to run around and look for a tent in the market);
- polite staff and good waiters;
BAD:
- the booklet indicates the presence of a sushi bar, but it is not there... which is a pity... we recommend doing it)
- our room overlooked the pool and it was impossible to sleep with the windows open. music interfered... but if the windows are closed, then everything is fine;
- the air conditioner did not cool the room below 24 degrees. Either we didn’t figure it out, or there is a limit set...
- having booked a room, I subtly hinted that the newlyweds were going, thinking that they would surprise us at the hotel like abroad: a bottle of wine and fruit or something like that. But it turns out that there is no such tradition... but you can get it))))
As a result: when they heard that we were going to the Crimea, they said that for such money you can easily fly to Turkey. And we were in Turkey... more precisely, in a place no worse... Thanks to Alexandria for a pleasant stay from Natalia and Sergey!
There were three such places - St. Vlas in Bulgaria, Simeiz and Abkhazia. We were in St. Vlas two years ago, they read unflattering things about present-day Abkhazia (besides, the same level as Alexandria was twice as expensive there (pravda with full board), so we chose Simeiz and Katsiveli in particular because they liked hotel "Alexandria" booked two months before arrival, they asked for a room with a sea view, they lived in a double apartment for 1120 hryvnias with breakfast.
The booking was confirmed after the amount was transferred to the card indicated in the email. No problem. A week before arrival, they called and asked if a transfer was needed, I agreed. A transfer from Simferopol airport costs 729 hryvnia, a little expensive, but it's still a Mercedes Vito - a minibus where it's very convenient to travel. Since we arrived in the evening, I decided not to bother and not save.
The hotel itself is fully consistent with the pictures on the site, I confirm.
No photoshop, in reality everything is absolutely the same - new, clean, thoughtful, stylish, comfortable. All this - furniture, room equipment, plumbing, hydromassage in the pool, a good sauna (which was extremely important for me), high-speed Wi-Fi in the room (which is very important, since I sometimes worked, and the children watched online children's films on VKontakte in good quality), a TV with a USB connector - you can watch your movies from a flash drive, but with such an Internet speed, this is not necessary. We almost never even turned on the TV (and there are two of them in our room), only when football was shown. ) reinforced me in the idea that this is a full-fledged 4 *. At least last year, in the declared four-wheel drive in Cyprus near Paphos (Theo Sunset bay), which cost a little more, the conditions were worse than in the "Alexandria" in Katsiveli.
The staff feels well trained. There is no rudeness at all. Everyone tries to please, smiling. Room cleaning - on request (they say not to disturb guests at an odd hour). We hung out a sign every two days - everything was perfectly cleaned and linen was changed.
Breakfast is not a buffet. In my opinion, in principle, this is a plus. Very tasty cereals, very tasty different types of omelettes and scrambled eggs, tea, coffee, bread, rolls, cheese. This is all included by default. But, for some reason, a step aside (for example, the children did not drink tea, but wanted juice) - for money. We immediately paid for all twenty days for juices. Milk for coffee - also for the money. It jarred a little. Not very smart and petty. No fruit for breakfast - minus. There are no sausages and cuts from any smoked meats - a plus (we only eat sausages and sausages on New Year's Eve). In general, if the breakfasts had been improved - they would not have been so trifling, they would have expanded the assortment, retaining their individuality (i. e. , the absence of deposits of weathered tomatoes and smoked sausages called the buffet) - I would have put ten for the hotel.
Maybe, of course, we liked everything so much, precisely because we rested at the beginning of the season. Empty. Quiet. As there in July - August, I do not know.
The village itself was very nice. Again same - the beginning of the season? Cleanliness, silence. The atmosphere in the spirit of Tarkovsky - a half-abandoned hydrophysical institute, a radio telescope (a mysterious thing), everything is permeated with some kind of scholarship, high-moral Soviet austerity, just super. After similar one to the other resort towns of southern Europe and Turkey - just an outlet. But for an amateur. If the brilliance of the embankments and the number of shops are more important to you than silence and pine trees, go to Turkey.
Our evening walks in Simeiz, climbs and descents along Mount Koshka and along the juniper massif are just a storehouse of health, especially for residents of Ligovsky Prospekt in Leningrad, where it is winter for 7 months a year, light for 5 hours a day, asphalt, reagents, exhaust... Of all our travels in recent years - Budva, St. Vlas, Paphos - Katsiveli is still in 1st place, without any guile. True, again, if you are fed up with the superficial gloss of cheap Turkish and Egyptian resorts. If you haven't had enough of this "abroad" yet, Crimea will seem dull to you. But, of course, this is one of the highest potential regions for tourism in the world.
On the minibus you can drive around the entire South Coast, see everything (and there you can see a lot of things, unlike, again, from Africa and Turkey). And everything is pretty close. You don't have to drive all day to the pyramids. And if you rent a car, or if you came here on it, then you can spend your vacation doubly fruitful.
And taking away the types of excellent Massandra port wine from 90 to 300 rubles . . Red (Alushta) cost about 90 rubles in Katsiveli, the same one in my store in St. Petersburg is sold for 340!
Crimea - Foreva!
