The sea in June was very clean, the main beach is being cleaned. There are enough sun loungers, there are awnings and umbrellas, lifeguards are actively working. Sometimes there are releases of algae on the surf line, which the staff of the sanatorium collect and bury in the sand.
Food type buffet in one shift for 2 hours, the assortment is small at the level of an average dining room, there is practically no fruit. The palatability of the dishes is flawless, although the taste of low-quality fats is sometimes noticeable. The layout is updated, as a rule, in a timely manner before closing, but there are also delays. The waiters are great, the dishes are cleaned in a timely manner. At the entrance to the resort there are grocery stores and fruit stands.
Rooms in the Burevestnik building are spacious, air-conditioned, with a balcony. Housing close to the sea. Cleaning is satisfactory. Soundproofing is good. Wi-Fi internet access was almost non-existent. We used 3G mobile Internet from MTS.
On the day of check-in, they discovered a leak in the toilet bowl and immediately made a request to the duty officer. The plumbers came only on the third day, and all this time we collected water from the floor with a rag until it flowed into the room. The plumbers could not fix the leak due to the lack of spare parts, and after a small scandal with the duty officer and the administration, we were allowed to move to the next room. Both rooms have old plumbing, terribly creaky old beds. There are no mosquito nets on the windows.
There is no entertainment other than a children's disco, but you can go on excursions both on your own and in a group. Nearest places: Evpatoria, Sevastopol, Bakhchisaray, Tarkhankut, Belyaus, Popovka.
As a result, the rest left a pleasant impression for the budget level.
During our holiday there was almost no day when it was impossible to swim. It was hot, sunny. The air in the resort is amazing! Various types of trees, flowers planted somewhere, the sea breeze together create a special aroma.
The sea temperature was in the range of 26-29 degrees. I won’t say that we were warm in the sea, but I won’t say the opposite either. The sea is like a sea. You come in, at first it’s a little cool, then you don’t want to get out. Algae and mud can repel a little, quite unusually. They are located along the edge of the coast - between the sea and the sand, but when it has already entered - the bottom is transparent, only sometimes algae can float after a night storm. Jellyfish were not met, someone was catching crabs.
The territory of the sanatorium is huge - 52 hectares. Not all buildings are functioning, some are in disrepair, but they are gradually being restored. It was 15-20 minutes at a leisurely pace from our building to the medical one. 7 minutes to the dining room.
The food was varied and tasty. Buffet.
For breakfast, three types of porridge, several types of cheese, sausages, salads. Cottage cheese casserole, scrambled eggs, sausages, sausages. Coffee, green and black tea, milk, sugar.
For lunch, three types of soup, many side dishes and meatballs, meatballs, beef, pork, chicken, vegetables in all forms. And most importantly, fruit! You could drink compotes of dried fruits and fresh fruits.
Lots of goodies for dinner too. Even at lunch and dinner there are delicious little buns - with poppy seeds, sesame seeds, jam . .
There is a huge Isis water cooler in each building. The room has dishes, a refrigerator, a fan / air conditioner.
The doctors in the hospital are friendly.
When you check in, you will be taken to the building by an electric car.
Ask at the reception of your building about everything - iron, fan, hair dryer, hot water for tea. . .
In general, the impressions were good!
Separately, about food - they promised a buffet, in fact - the horrors of Soviet childhood in the form of stewed liver, barley groats, fish cakes, etc. The son could not eat. The infrastructure is not developed. To eat, there is either a restaurant with prices like in Moscow and service like in a Soviet barracks, or Evpatoria, which takes at least an hour to get to in a minibus studded with brutalized old women. We spent more than 100.000 rubles on this "vacation" on a "free ticket". When we left, we saw a woman who vomited right on the threshold of the dining room. Enteritis in a child was cured only at home - in the sanatorium everything is literally teeming with bacteria, the sea is incredibly dirty, no one cleans the algae, or rather, when they are thrown ashore, the pensioners who work there push them back into the sea. A disgusting mass of kelp rots and stinks in the water, mixed with huge jellyfish and dead fish.
At the entrance is a poster that says that you can not offend marine animals (jellyfish). Apparently, the staff is very proud not only of their casemates and a trough with pearl barley and liver, but also of these huge purple pieces of jelly that cause chemical burns.
Treatment? It just wasn't there. We issued a spa card for ourselves, having spent a lot of time on this, but the local "doctors" offered to "pay for the examination. " They spat and left.
Animation for a child: when they saw that the child was "problematic", cheerful boys and girls simply refused to work with him.
Conclusion: no matter how patriotic you are, never rest in a post-Soviet sanatorium.
. . . Several times they tried to buy a "kursovka" for the recovery of their child. Then come tomorrow, now the manager is not there. Then there is no doctor anymore, you need to shuffle again in the very heat, and even sit in a huge queue. In general, they gave up on this idea. Well, I don’t understand why in this country it’s impossible to improve a child’s health for his own hard-earned money without running into rudeness, “rejection” - go there, I don’t know where; come then, I don't know when. . .
On the territory, nothing has changed for the better for 8 years, there are no playgrounds. There are only paid attractions (seeing the administration is beneficial). The beach is in a terrible state, old concrete structures from which pipes and fittings stick out, and this is all on the children's beach. The algae were removed only twice in two weeks. Water is brought to the beach, but there are only two taps for the entire territory.
For the sake of justice, it should be noted - the room was cleaned well and daily; the food was excellent (tasty, varied and plentiful) also the dining room staff was helpful, polite and organized.
An acquaintance in a travel agency listened with undisguised interest to my wishes regarding the rest and began to look for a boarding house for us. Several places of rest suited all wishes, but the choice was decided somewhat unexpectedly - one married couple could not go on vacation to the Mayak sanatorium and we got their "burning" ticket for half the cost.
The Kyiv-Evpatoria train brought us to this sunny city without any problems. There were no problems with the stuffy car because it was a reserved seat with open windows. Not a very pleasant "bonus", in the form of an incessant grandmother from the top shelf, annoyed us a little, but, on the other hand, I received full information about the prices of poultry (chickens, geese), how to choose the right chicken, what not to do feed them, etc. on a bird theme (grandmother raised chickens, geese and turkeys all her life, and there was no one to share her life experience with). This invaluable information will certainly help me in my work as a service engineer for the repair of office equipment : -).
We get out of the car, then follow the instructions and go to look for a minibus. It was not difficult to find it, but on the way to it it took twenty times to say the word “NO” to sticky taxi drivers, five times to politely refuse to rent beautiful apartments at ridiculous prices, and three times not to be tempted to tour the city and its environs.
The minibus we needed turned out to be a white Mercedes minibus with a redesigned interior. The fact that the chairs were rearranged in order to maximize the compaction, I realized at the moment when I tried to cram my legs into the narrow gap between my chair and the back of the front seat. Unfortunately, with my height of 190 cm, my legs categorically refused to fit into the ten-centimeter gap between the seats. After several attempts to sit in a natural position, I realized that with no option, my legs would not fit. I approached a driver smoking nearby and politely asked if this minibus was created specifically for dwarfs or legless?! ? The unshaven driver looked me over lazily from head to toe and replied:
- Che, bringer?
- No, local, damn it! So after all, who is this torture chamber designed for?
If you don't like it, don't go. . .
Having received such an exhaustive answer and seeing the futility of further dialogue, I took Anyuta and walked around two minibuses standing nearby. The driver of one of them kindly offered to take the first two places for my wife and me for an additional fee of twenty hryvnias. Since it was necessary to go half an hour, he received his twenty, and we calmly reached our destination.
Sanatorium "Mayak" met us with a friendly polite administrator, who quickly settled us in the room. We settled in a suite, in the first building, which is called "Brigantine". Small neat room, kitchenette and bathroom with shower and toilet. Nothing to complain about, nothing to admire either. In general, what we wanted for a relaxing holiday. We unpack our things and go to look around.
The territory of the resort is quite green and cozy. It seems to be aimed at couples with children, since children's cries were heard from everywhere. A three- or four-year-old miracle, running past, fired at us with a water pistol and rushed on, successfully dodging an elderly woman who was trying to catch him. A little further on, three young mothers with prams strolled slowly along the alley. Here and there, wrappers from sweets and ice cream were lying around, clearly hinting at the presence of a large number of sweet teeth .
The beach pleased us with the absence of stones and large pebbles. There were no sun loungers on the beach, but for us the "wild" holiday was not new. Along the entire coast there were many holes left from the little builders of sand castles. Anyuta immediately climbed into the sea and began to study the bottom topography. To a more or less decent depth, one had to walk a hundred meters, but vacationers do not have to worry about the children near the shore.
We spent the whole evening sunbathing and relaxing, in the evening we went to the dining room. I saw a lot of different food options, but in Mayak I discovered another one. Portion meals with elements of the buffet . There is a pot with soup or borscht on the table, cutlery is laid out around it. Come, sit down and pour yourself your first. Bread and other related stuff is right there. When you finish with the first, they bring you the second (side dish with meat). If the first can be added freely, then the second is strictly portioned. Compotes, tea and drinks can be taken unlimitedly at the dispensing table. If a vacationer has stomach problems, the doctor prescribes special meals for him in the dining room.
The next morning I was awakened by a soft knock on the door. Anyuta was fast asleep, and I went to open it. A boy of eighteen years old was standing outside the door, when he saw me, he was embarrassed, and after hesitating a little he asked: “Does Anya live here? ”. Scratching my head in puzzlement, I went to wake up my wife, who, waking up, could not understand what and what, and then asked me to take the dumplings with cherries from him and pay. It was she who wanted to surprise me (I love them very much), but forgot to set the alarm and overslept the meeting. We have breakfast in bed, continue in the dining room and go for a walk. We were in the mood for a beach-lazy vacation and did not want to wander around the neighborhood. For this, the boarding house has everything. Most importantly, there was enough space for everyone on the beach, a little further there was a beach with sunbeds, but we never went there.
They cleaned the room in the morning. An elderly woman came, did wet cleaning and took out the trash. Since we were in the room for a short time, she did not have much work to do and we agreed that she would come every other day.
All our vacation we slept, ate and messed around. After active work, this is what we needed. The weather was pleasant, the warm wind was held back by the trees, and the heated sand pleasantly pleased us. Sticky merchants of all sorts of food bothered us for the first three days, but since we did not buy anything (boiled shrimps and suspicious chebureks did not attract us), they remembered us and did not bother us anymore. We bought ice cream in a store near the entrance, where we really bought fifty packs for the whole vacation ; -).
I summarize: this place was created for a relaxing family holiday in the middle price category, there are no discos and places where you can hang out (with the exception of a couple of cafes), the food in the dining room was a solid four. At the end of the holiday there was a minor incident - when I went to give the keys to the room, the administrator said that she should ACCEPT the number! That is, she went with me and inspected the room in detail for damage to the walls, furniture and plumbing. Neither in Europe, nor in Egypt, I have not seen this, although there were much more temptations to steal something. Thank God, she did not find anything to complain about and we were able to leave without hindrance. Resting in this boarding house, we got what we wanted and tanned and satisfied came to Kyiv...
