At that time, there was a promotion, but they didn’t take one and a half price from me, and therefore I didn’t fall under the action of the promotion, but on the whole I was satisfied - I counted on more expenses. The room has good furniture. The bed is comfortable, refrigerator, TV, fan, electric kettle. An important point - in the room there are windows on opposite walls, which allows you to arrange a draft. For me, in September, air conditioning is no longer needed in these parts, and at night - and a draft. Three-storey building: basement, first and second. The basement has one toilet, one sink and one shower. Taking into account the fact that 8 people can live in a room, I believe that there are few “comforts”. I lived all 5 days alone in the whole building. According to the administrator, the occupancy of the boarding house in September 2017 was 50% - 100 people, the most popular rooms are "comfort". I chose the room on the mountain on purpose: from there there is a very beautiful view of the sea and the coast; element of physical education.
The territory of the boarding house is fabulously good! It is replete with tropical plants, carefully groomed, there are comfortable paths, stairs, gazebos everywhere, there are two playgrounds. The boarding house stands in a narrow gorge, protected from all winds except the south. A beautiful embankment, a sports ground, the beach is not wide, located to the left of the pier, further along the embankment towards Solnechnogorsk - the territory of the MAI boarding house and its own beaches where you can swim and sunbathe. Even further - 3 kilometers of wild beaches to Solnechnogorsk. There are capes with a very beautiful bottom relief - a paradise for snorkelers and underwater photographers. On the territory there is a first-aid post, a playroom for children, a cinema where films are shown every evening, and on Saturdays some kind of ensemble comes. Meals in the dining room: in 2017, each vacationer was assigned to a place, in 2018 - sit down wherever you want, grab food as much as you want. The food is delicious and very varied, I believe that even dieters and vegetarians can eat there normally. BUT. In September 2018, when I went there with my wife for 6 days, on the third day I had a severe indigestion. The woman doctor I contacted said that there were already quite a lot of calls and suggested that the reason was an intestinal infection in sea water, aggravated by a catering place. The treatment took several days, which spoiled the holiday in September 2018.
As elsewhere in the Crimea, in the boarding house there is a person selling excursions, of which there are a great many, both by road and by sea. Those who go on an excursion can take food with them in the dining room, but for this you need to order dry rations in advance the day before. I liked the staff: friendly people, any issues are resolved quickly, the territory is clean and tidy. On the embankment there is a cafe where music plays, but not loudly and not for long. In general, this place is more suitable for adults with children. Young people can get bored there - there are no dances, discos, clubs and other attributes of modern "civilization" in the Scarlet Sails boarding house.
Wireless Internet is available throughout the boarding house, except for buildings 26.27 and 28. Although, in 2018 it may have been done there. The password is 1234567890. In September 2018, we took a “standard” room (that is, with all amenities, including air conditioning) in building 10. The room had some mistakes, but overall it was normal, everything worked, the bed was comfortable. However, there was still a fly in the ointment: the building was built on a sewer, the fan of the fan system was periodically turned on, driving the fan along the terrace of the first floor of the building. If there is at least some breeze - it was not felt, in calm - to the fullest. To the credit of the administration, when contacting about a room they don’t like, vacationers are provided with another one, sometimes even more comfortable than it was paid for, at no extra charge.
In general, the place is good, based on the results of two trips, taking into account the listed shortcomings, I will give it a four on a five-point system. Do I want to go there again? Definitely yes, but not next year, but some time later. Quiet, beautiful place away from cities, noise and exhaust gases. Everything around is green, clean and fresh air, beautiful nature. But I can't get around some of the shortcomings and problems that, I think, the boarding house will pay attention to and then there will be no price for it !!! ! In any case, I put the five (in advance). And I can’t not write about them, sorry.
These shortcomings are ground surface water.
1. The storm water drain chute is not designed for this volume of water (when it rains)
2. When a force majeure happens, a natural disaster, you can not leave. Everything flows: stones, sticks, garbage. With suitcases, you will have to go to the barrier in order to leave by taxi. The only road was in the water, if you need to leave urgently, you won’t get out. You may be late for transport.
3. Flowing water along the asphalt road has caused a lot of dirt, stones and silt everywhere. Flooded cafe Russian hut. In the morning we could not leave the room and go to the beach. It turned out to be a mess on the road.
4. Due to the drain, everything that accumulates on the surface of the land of the boarding house gets into the sea. Because of this, the rapid growth of algae in the water leads to the appearance of an odor. For comparison, on the MAI beach, the bottom is clean, there is no such thing. Looks like they're cleaning. Large stones at the bottom near the beach are also all overgrown with algae. Need to clean up.
5. Be sure to check the strength of the ground "Skyscraper" in the neighborhood. Its foundation can be washed away and a collapse will result.
6. The transparency of the water directly depends on the storm. (Compared with the MAI beach). In a storm on the MAI beach, the water is clear, only a little muddy. People who rested in the boarding house until August 13.2017 really enjoyed the clean sea, clear water, and of course, everyone only left positive reviews, everything was fine. We also felt it on ourselves for several days until this natural phenomenon happened and the Boarding House was not ready for this!!!!
I want to summarize: we still liked the rest, we had a very good rest, went on excursions, sunbathed and swam.
We ask the administration of the boarding house not just to unsubscribe to our review, but to pay attention to the inconveniences listed so to speak. It's nice that in all this beauty there was a place for 2 playgrounds, and a court, and a volleyball court, and a spacious embankment, and secluded gazebos, and even a charming fountain! At the same time, even from the most remote building or house no more than 500 m to the sea! The work of gardeners and landscape designers is amazing! Cleanliness, comfort and the ability to combine natural beauty with man-made also apply to the organization of the beach: finely pebbly, equipped with awnings, the entrance to the sea is smooth (which is especially important if you are relaxing with a child! ). And for lovers of diving, the pier is perfect: even so deep you can see every pebble at the bottom! Regarding the room (we lived in 10 building room 1), we can say this: no frills, homely and comfortable. There is a necessary set of furniture, a kettle, dishes, TV, a bathroom in the room. It is very good that there is a small balcony overlooking the sea, where there is summer furniture. In general, you want to return from somewhere or stay in such a room and it’s nice. It is convenient that the cost of the tour includes 3 meals a day, especially such a tasty, varied and, in terms of health, very balanced and healthy! Many thanks to Nina Grigorievna for the fact that she managed to please both my mother (who herself, as a professional chef, is scrupulous about the taste of dishes), and my husband (who, oh, how she loves to eat a lot and tasty! ), well, most importantly, my daughter! Well, for me, the beautiful table setting, the well-coordinated work of the waitress girls, and the atmosphere, well, nothing like the usual “canteen” remained unnoticed! Thank you very much for this! The staff of the boarding house deserves special attention and the warmest words!! ! Clean sea - the sea is really clean, a lot of crabs were fun to watch. Sometimes the sea became cloudy due to particles of algae rising from the bottom, covered with small pebbles, but is it really mud? There was always enough space on the beach. Hooray - they were satisfied with the sea.
Room - lived in building number 3 - no windows - they knew about it and, in principle, it was some kind of advantage - in the morning the sun let us sleep. Air conditioning is good, worked properly, refrigerator, TV (only 4 channels - all Russian), hot water was constantly. Of the minuses - the room is old, repairs have been crying for it for a long time, especially for the bathroom - I didn’t want to go into the shower, you need to take toilet paper with you : ). It was also surprising that there is 1 socket for the TV and the refrigerator (so choose... ).
Evening leisure - cafes, walks along the promenade, volleyball, table tennis (only until 20.00), tennis..... wrote above: ((((. In general, not enough.
I also forgot to inform you about the food - the dining room - almost meat dishes under different names are a cutlet with a min amount of meat. At first there was no air conditioning in the dining room, but the food was excellent, and although without frills, the food was delicious, varied and everyone was full. Under the new owners, the emphasis was solely on making money, because from year to year prices are rising, and the quality of service is falling. In terms of nutrition, in general, for the last year the main emphasis has been on chicken legs in their different versions and portions cut to the limit. The food ration is also far from a fountain, although they came up with a customized menu, and finally put air conditioners in the dining room, but I want to say that nutrition has deteriorated significantly. Nothing has changed in the rooms over the years, only it broke off and, in general, of course, the order at the base began to specifically limp, although a lot of course depends on the vacationers, the contingent has changed lately, again, not for the better. Separately, a few words about the beach: it doesn’t exist, and no one worked on those 20 meters near the pier until the year 11, when they finally brought several cars of granite stone there, apparently unloaded it on the beach in the fall and the sea polished it as best it could from sharp edges, but walking along it’s still hard for him without shoes, but children can’t do that at all. There are a lot of boulders at the entrance to the sea. Previously, there was an agreement between the administration and the neighboring MAI base, but the new owners obviously didn’t share something with the Muscovites and last year they put bars at the entrance and came up with security with passes, in general they cut off access to their beaches, although they themselves frankly, they didn’t deal with their beaches all these years, but simply used them, there is only one normal with small pebbles opposite the central building of the MAI. On the other hand, the beach of the neighboring base, plus there is a pioneer camp and a bunch of cottages, in general, there is nowhere to fall, they didn’t even try to go there. In short, the MAI beach in bars and swearing with the guards became the last straw after which we decided for ourselves that this place no longer suits us. Without a car, there is nothing to do there, and parking is free. . There are 2 km of a steep climb to the highway uphill and 30-40 minutes to Alushta, the prices for taxi drivers at the base are exorbitant, a minibus goes upstairs, but you still need to get there. About the rest, in general, they write quite truthfully about themselves. The nature there is beautiful, the sea too, but something needs to be decided with food and especially with the beach. . .

It's amazing, it's really beautiful there. food is quite decent, every day fermented milk products, kefir, yogurt or fermented baked milk, fruits - nectarine, watermelon, bananas, juice. optionally, in the morning - milk porridge. three times a day - something meat to side dishes of vegetables and cereals, beef in sweet and sour sauce, royal pork, boiled chicken, liver cutlets and just liver with sauce, fish - sole in Polish and in batter. they served baked eggplant and cauliflower casserole, fried zucchini and homemade vegetable caviar. every day for dinner - a bottle of mineral water. and most importantly - no heartburn for the whole vacation, I can be launched as a food controller in any cafe, if I eat something yesterday or overcooked in rancid butter - I feel very, very bad after 20-25 minutes. so the boarding house is fed with fresh food, which is very important, the portions are large, it was enough for my husband and son. The plumbing in the rooms let us down, it stinks, like any local sewage system, but fresheners for the toilets in our room were immediately installed. Air conditioner worked properly, TV only had 4 channels. the furniture is modest, but new, bedding and towels were changed after 3 days. in building 3 there is a nice detail - a veranda for every 2 rooms with clothes dryers, a table and chairs. but there is also a great drawback - a stream flows under the veranda, which carries water from the mountain. the beach, as they say, under your feet, sun loungers and umbrellas, balls and rackets - for free. where the sea is transparent - entry is difficult due to large round stones, the best beach is from the MAI sanatorium, but it is closed for vacationers from other boarding houses. although, everyone can choose a beach to their liking, there are about a dozen of them, with and without awnings, with large and smaller pebbles, the most important thing is that walking time to any of the beaches is from 1 minute to 10 minutes. there are no entertainments for young people, but for families with children, an ideally quiet and relaxing holiday. the disadvantages include the lack of vegetable and fruit markets, it sells 2 private points at very high prices and with a small selection of offers, wine and drinks are only in 3 restaurants with Russian, oriental and fish cuisine, respectively. if you want to go to Alushta for delicious and entertainment, you will have to take a taxi for as much as 250 hryvnias, or a round-trip ticket for 80 hryvnias on a boat (stay in Alushta - 4 hours) or wait for a passing taxi, climb up the steep mountain to the track almost 1 km. in general - buy everything on the way from alushta for a few days in advance, our refrigerator worked properly. even beer is more expensive than in Alushta by 3-4 hryvnias. In a fish restaurant, take only mussels, rapana and shrimp are simply inedible. The best view and fresh air in cheap buildings on the hill No. 10.23, etc. . There are almost no windows in buildings of type No. 5, it is stuffy, damp and dark. The best rooms are in buildings like 33 and 34, but it's not cheap. All buildings along the main alley (14.15, 3) are approximately the same in terms of comfort, but everything is in the shade of cypresses and the sea wind does not reach there.
