We rested with my family (2 adults and 3 children aged 9.15 and 17) in the mini-hotel "Sergey", Alupka, Crimea in August 2013. We planned the vacation on our own, without the help of travel agencies, based on the Internet reviews of vacationers. So it's time to leave your own review, maybe it will be useful to someone. The choice of a place to stay began a month and a half in advance - the beginning of July, with a planned vacation in mid-August. It turned out that we were very optimistic - the choice was very limited, besides, for accommodation of 5 people and in the low season there were few options. We considered only the southern coast of Crimea, I really wanted a combination of mountains and sea. While considering, choosing, comparing and acting up, "Sergey" remained almost the only option that fit into our budget. Honestly, the choice of this hotel was alarmed by not very flattering reviews. We decided only because of the pool and beautiful photos of the territory and the surrounding area from the official site. It is clear that the feeling that this is just an advertising "candy" did not leave until the very arrival. According to the reviews we read, we were prepared for the fact that upon arrival the administrator would read the instructions for behavior on the territory. Moreover, when reading the rules, everyone, including children, should be present. But in principle, there is nothing exotic in the rules - do not make noise after 23:00 and before 9:00, do not use glassware near the pool, do not bring guests without agreement. Upon arrival, it turned out that you need to leave some document as a deposit. “Well, I think it has begun, ” they left a birth certificate for a minor child - they can’t take loans on it, they can’t shove it into any scam. But then the troubles ended - no one bothered us with notations like "don't make noise, don't run, don't walk".
The territory of the mini-hotel is large, the rooms are located in several separate houses with 2-4 rooms each, but each has its own entrance from the street and the guests almost do not intersect with each other. The territory is very well maintained with an abundance of flowers and greenery, the pool is large, deep and clean. They clean it and the surrounding area every day, but early in the morning, so cleaning does not interfere with rest. True, the water smells pretty chlorine. Each has its own key for the outer gate and a gate for exiting the territory. You can come and go at any time, we even went to the sea at night to swim. Free parking for cars on the territory of the hotel is a big plus by the standards of Alupka. In the city, there is simply nowhere to park a car. Having walked around the city on the first day, we realized that we don’t need a car here, so we never drove it for the whole vacation. Local money is made on everything, including parking spaces - even paid places on the sides of the roads, and the roads are narrow and crooked and the likelihood that any bus will scratch the side is very high. So the problem is not that there is nowhere to put the car for free, but that there is nowhere to put it at all.
Meals are not provided in the hotel, but each room has its own kitchen with an electric stove and all necessary utensils. We ate at the Luna dining room - it's easy to find, next to the Lenin monument in the center. The portions are huge, tasty, the choice is excellent, and the prices - we never paid more than 250 hryvnia (about 1000 rubles) for 5 people, despite the fact that the dishes were chosen without looking at the price, but only what you like, with beer for adults and dessert for children.

We lived in room 18, at the highest point of the hotel. From the terrace of our room there was an amazing view of the sea, and it was always possible to track what the children were doing in the pool.
On the official website, all the pictures correspond to reality, the pictures of the numbers, it seems that too. At least our room is exactly like in the pictures. Two-room suite, each room has a split system, one TV, refrigerator, shower, toilet. Hot water without interruptions and schedules, but with cold there were short-term failures.
Wi-fi is free, works well throughout the large territory, but it takes badly from the second room.
It is a bit far from the sea to the hotel, but the path passes through a very picturesque Vorontsovsky park. Our room was at an altitude of 82 m above sea level (measured using a car navigator) and this height had to be overcome with the help of a large number of steps, but we got used to it quickly and almost did not feel it somewhere on the third day, and there is a good pool for capricious children which they enjoyed using.
How long does it take to get from the hotel to the sea, they never measured it, because there was always a picturesque background for the picture, then it was necessary to buy souvenirs, ice cream, beer, then "we haven't walked along this path yet. " In general, the road from the hotel to the sea does not take much time and certainly cannot be called tiring. You can walk around Vorontsovsky Park for a very long time - a beautiful, large, well-groomed park with an abundance of exotic plants and a swan lake.
In general, I am satisfied with my stay in this mini-hotel. Of the minuses, only the distance from the sea, but this minus allows you to keep yourself in good shape : -) When leaving, the owner gives a discount card for a 5% discount on the next visit, but the card is registered, you can’t transfer it to friends.
