Reading a lot about the truth in distant countries and cities, today I came across a review of someone the owner of babol for the second time. The review was called "Provincial Town" and it was in Kyiv. Already judging by the name, the author was not satisfied with our capital, for which he gave his arguments. Is he right or is he to blame, the forum users furiously decided, and I read the creation itself and all the comments suddenly thought about something completely different. And if you write a review about your hometown here. In the most active tourist season - summer, I will try to tell YOU about VINNYTSIA TOURIST.
ORIGIN OF NAME:
Vinnitsa. The name itself comes from the Old Slavonic "vyno" - a gift. There are a couple more versions of the name "vinnitsa" - a distillery where wine beers were brewed and "Vinnichka" - a river.
TOURIST OBJECTS.
Each tourist determines for himself a number of interesting objects that he would like to visit.
So I took the liberty of defining these to my taste.
1. KEMPA ISLAND. The place for Odessa is absolutely unique. (Mid. 16th century). It is considered the cradle of the whole city. It was here that the first stone fortress was built, from which modern Vinnitsa went. True, neither the fortress nor the Lithuanian castle has survived to this day. In 2010, the city authorities decided to “legalize” this territory, turning Kempa into a citywide space. In Vinnytsia, an open architectural competition was held for the "best concept for the development of the island" NOW WAIT
2. ROSHEN FOUNTAIN. The main tourist attraction of the city, the Roshen embankment with a singing fountain, has also become a good neighbor for Kempa Island. This beauty will not leave indifferent neither adults nor children.
The height of the central jet of the fountain reaches 60 meters, the frontal spread of water is 140 meters, and you can enjoy the light show thanks to the action of 560 powerful underwater lights.
The uniqueness of the fountain lies in the fact that it is made according to the so-called "wintering technology", thanks to which the floating platform can be lowered under the ice for a period of cold weather. The laser projector is equipped with a screen, the basis for which is a water-air mixture, distributed along the entire length of the structure. This system allows you to display video in 3D format. In terms of technical characteristics, it can only be compared with the world-famous fountain in Dubai.

MOST EMBANKMENT both during the day and in the evening offers guests a lot of entertainment, for the smallest ROSHEN GORODOK with swings (ALL FOR FREE) there are cafes and attractions nearby (7D cinema, 3D shooting range, cotton candy, electric cars). During the day, cycle rickshaws fill the embankment, which can tell you the history of the city better than I ask here. Girls in puffy dresses sell chocolate and sweets and sometimes it seems that you are transported back a couple of centuries. The smell of brewed coffee and hot chocolate from chocolate fountains ...you can buy all this on the embankment, taking your wallet with you)))
3. EXCURSION TRAIN.
The IDEA will “launch” a sightseeing train in Vinnitsa on the model, those who run through the streets of European cities were received with a bang, especially by children. Currently, this transport has already been delivered to Vinnitsa. The sightseeing train is designed for 50 passengers. PRICE for an adult ticket 30-35 UAH (I don’t remember exactly), a child 25 UAH.
According to preliminary plans, the train will run from the Roshen embankment, stopping at Independence Square, and in the opposite direction.
4. MUSEUM-DOLZHIE PIROE. A walk in the open air with pleasure and not without benefit will take place if you are imbued with all the importance of the place where the history of surgery was created. Nikolai Pirogov is an outstanding scientist, talented doctor, inventor of anesthesia and military field surgery. Pirogov invented ether anesthesia and first used it during the war in the Caucasus.
Another invention of Pirogov, without which it is impossible to imagine today's medicine, is a plaster cast for fixing fractures. Few people know that the white disinfected doctor's coat is Pirogov's find, for which, by the way, he was considered insane and even placed in a psychiatric hospital for several days.
In addition, the scientist introduced a number of new medical techniques and methods of surgical operations.
The structure of the museum is unique in its kind. In the center of the museum complex is the house where Nikolai Pirogov lived: there is an extensive exposition, each of the 12 sections of which tells about a certain period of his life and work. Particular attention is paid to the brilliant discoveries of the scientist, which helped save thousands of human lives. In the estate you can see the office where Nikolai Pirogov worked, his personal belongings, books, surgical instruments, paintings.
Nearby is a pharmacy-museum, which recreates the interiors of the waiting room and operating room of an outstanding surgeon. Here are the 19th century pharmacy utensils and dishes, as well as herbs from which medicines were made at that time. Pirogov grew many of them in his backyard park, where, by the way, the trees he planted are still preserved.
Another object of the museum conglomerate is the Church of St. Nicholas with the tomb where the embalmed body of the great scientist rests. Contrary to popular belief, it was not he himself who wished to save Pirogov's body, but his wife, who loved his unconsciousness.

5. WATER PRESSURE. The original brick tower with times, located in the pedestrian area, is considered the hallmark of the city. Designed by arch. G.
Artynov as the base of the city water supply (erroneously considered a fire tower). During the Second World War, it served as an observation point for the course of hostilities on the outskirts of the city.

6. TRANSFORMATION CATHEDRAL. It was built in the 18th century. as the church of a Dominican monastery.
Defensive, in the Baroque style, the temple was part of the fortified Murov. In 1832, it was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Orthodox clergy and consecrated as an Orthodox church. Until 1991 it was used as an organ music hall. Now under the jurisdiction of the metropolitan patriarchate.

7. Church "HOUSE EVANGILIE". The main church of Evangelical Baptist Christians in the Vinnytsia region and a favorite place for newlyweds for a photo shoot.

8. Ruins of the Werewolf headquarters. Hitler spent 3.5 months in 1942 in Strizhavka, 8 km from Vinnitsa.
There were about 80 houses here: the houses of generals, a dining room, a swimming pool (its remains were also preserved). During the retreat, the Germans blew up all communications, and during the Union they destroyed the headquarters with a huge amount of explosives. There are few stones left from the main bunker of the underground-ground complex, during the construction of which, according to various estimates, from 4.000 to 14.000 Soviet prisoners of war died, visible from the ground.
Square in front of the City Executive Committee. The recently restored, or rather, completely redone square is now a bright decoration in the crown of the city.
10. ZOO. Vinnitsa Zoo is constantly expanding, acquiring new animals and adopting natural litter. Despite the fact that the Vinnitsa Zoo is the youngest in Ukraine, its popularity is growing, and the arrangement of the zoo is changing.
Feel free to take food with you (and do not forget about the animals) on the territory there are many wooden houses and swings, you can have fun, the entrance ticket is 15 UAH. for adults.
Where to stay
The only five-star Feride hotel in the city is considered the best in terms of comfort and service, the price level is corresponding - from 1700 hryvnia per room. Of the more budgetary, but worthy in terms of service and quality of housing, you should pay attention to the Ritm hotels (from 250 hryvnia) and Podolia (from 300).
