Rest in Truskavets was budget, but I liked it.
A trip to Truskavets was planned by me in the spring. I visit Truskavets regularly, and this was already my ninth trip to this resort.
I used to travel on social insurance vouchers, but this year I had to pay for my vacation myself. Therefore, I did not even dream of a luxurious vacation, based on my family budget. Moreover, only a month has passed, as we already rested with my husband and granddaughters for 15 days in a boarding house on the Arabat Spit, and have already spent more than a thousand euros on our vacation. Therefore, I decided to book a room in one of the budget resorts.
Two years ago I already had a rest in such a sanatorium, and I know that if you pay for a “standard” room, then the accommodation will be acceptable, and you can choose the food and treatment package yourself additionally.

Therefore, I stop at the sanatorium "Crystal". The advantage of this sanatorium is its location next to the pump room of mineral waters, and the medical base of the resort. Moreover, in addition, it is connected by a covered gallery with a balneological clinic, which in case of bad weather has a huge advantage over others.
I still have a business card from the sales manager from my last vacation, and I call him directly and book a standard room for two from August 1 for 20 days. The cost of a room with diet food and a standard treatment package is 580 UAH per day. If we compare our vacation in a boarding house on the sea, then there a house for four cost 550 UAH per day without treatment and food. The math is simple: in 20 days in Truskavets, you will get approximately the same amount, but for two people with treatment and food. And instead of my husband, our eldest granddaughter is traveling with me.
There are no train tickets from us to Lviv, they were sold out in the first days of sale, so we had to take train tickets from Odessa. We are at least 5 hours away from Odessa by car, so my husband had to make this march to take us to the train. in a sanatorium.
Settlement was fast. We were given a choice of two rooms, and my granddaughter and I chose a room on the 11th floor overlooking the park. The room is renovated, clean, with new furniture and new plumbing. The elevators worked well, and we had no problems with such a high location of the room.
On the same day, we got to our doctor on our floor, and received all the necessary appointments in the sanatorium book. But in order to receive the prescribed procedures, it was necessary to go through the medical registry of the sanatorium, in which all these appointments would go through the computer, and the date, time and place of receiving the procedures would be written out.
And it turned out to be the most unpleasant and difficult thing. The medical registry turned out to be a girl in the singular, and even working from 8 am to 5 pm. And since the sanatorium accepts about 1.000 vacationers, and there are social insurance vouchers for 100 people a day, you can imagine the queue for this treasured window when we got there.

Based on our listing of appointments, we determined when we would have free time, since my granddaughter and I planned to go on two excursions: to the Carpathians and to Lviv. The travel agent from TA "Ukraine" is located right in the foyer of the sanatorium, and every day we passed by her to the dining room of the sanatorium. We booked tours with her.
We liked the excursion to Lviv with the name “Lviv - a city with the taste of coffee”. The tour is for half a day. The bus was large and comfortable, such buses go on foreign tours. I also liked the guide from TA. We arrived in Lviv around 4:30 pm and stayed until 9:00 pm. The whole tour took place in the center around Rynok Square, then we drank coffee in the Italian courtyard, and there was about an hour of free time.
But the trip to the Carpathians to Urich and the Tustan fortress was spoiled by the guide when we were returning back from Urich, and according to the program we had a check-in at the springs in Skhidnytsia. I consider the place where we were taken to be simply blasphemy to call a source of mineral water. This is a ruin that has been turned into a toilet. And behind her, a liquid of unknown origin flows from a rusty pipe, which the guide called “Skhodnitskaya Naftusya”. When I took this liquid into a glass and offered him to try it first, he turned away in disgust. Of course, no one dared to try this liquid, and everyone was outraged that we were not taken to a normal source, but this did not help. So it was spoiled, in general, not bad, a trip on an excursion to Urich.
Truskavets has long been a profitable place for our well-known and little-known artists. Concerts are held daily in the local palace of culture. During my 9 visits to the resort, I have already seen many, some even twice. Therefore, I had no great desire to go to the proposed concerts. But the granddaughter saw the poster of Natalia Valevskaya, and immediately let's ask to take her to this concert. I had to comply with her request. We liked the concert. Before the concert, the singer handed out free postcards with her image, on which you could then get an autograph. Here the granddaughter even received two autographs from the singer, and was very pleased with this.

In our free time, we walked around the resort and the park. The first 10 days the weather was very good, sunny and warm. But the second half of the holiday was overshadowed by rain and cold weather. This is where the covered gallery from the sanatorium to the hydropathic came in handy for us. Over the past two years, new luxury hotels have been built in the resort. In the very center, opposite the Palace of Culture, a new Mirotel hotel has recently opened. A very interesting recreation area was built near it. The entrance there was free, and we often walked there after dinner.
Despite some nuances, we enjoyed our stay. The staff at the resort are courteous and attentive. The room is cleaned every day, sheets and towels are changed once a week. When changing the bed, they put a bag of soap-shampoo-shower cap. I took diet food, orders were made daily from the menu. It was more than enough for my granddaughter and me. There was a little lack of vegetables and fruits, so I bought it on the street in stalls.
But the most important thing in Truskavets is the regular intake of the famous Naftusya mineral water. The whole success of the treatment lies in the observance of the diet and the intake of mineral water. Of course, it’s hard for children to get up early in the morning and go to the pump room, so I myself had to bring water to my granddaughter’s room in the morning, but at lunchtime and in the evening she also went and drank some water in the pump room. But I never got used to its peculiar taste of oil. At home, she told everyone that she liked everything, only she didn’t like drinking Naftusya.
But I have long appreciated the healing qualities of Naftusya and Maria, and I will continue to go to the Truskavets resort.
There were a lot of vacationers from Russia and Belarus at the resort, and residents of the Caucasus and Central Asia rest in the most expensive hotels. So Truskavets is still popular not only in Ukraine.
