About food. Lutsk. "Uncle PIZZA"
I discovered the family cafe "Uncle PIZZA" during my last visit to Lutsk on my own. Now I know that there are two of them in Lutsk: one is on Lesia Ukrainka Street (a pedestrian street from the Central Department Store down, in the basement of a house with a jewelry store), I was in it. Another is on Svobody Avenue, it is easy to find and identify by the "branded" mustache on the sign. I decided to write about "Uncle PIZZA", because a) I liked it; b) on that “last” time, she trampled all her legs in search of a new decent place for the “starved worm”.
INTERIOR in the Provence style loved in Western Ukraine - light walls, furniture, lavender thickets (artificial, alas, alas). The musical background is an unobtrusive lounge, on 4 LCD monitors there are either promo videos of the institution (very appetizing), or some kind of movie thread. An interesting design solution: the partitions between the sofas are complemented by containers with pasta tinted in different colors (I saw something similar in Rivne in the Pasta mia chain restaurant). Successful lighting design - the light is soft, muffled, but it is enough. The walls are decorated with photos of different uncles with original mustaches, while the photos of famous mustaches (Dali, for example) that have set the teeth on edge are not among them. You will not often find a specially equipped playing place for kinders - there is one here. Moreover, the interests of the small people of different ages are taken into account - from "sliders" to junior schoolchildren. And a separate song - a mother and child room (! ), In which a changing table + diapers + wet wipes + powder (!!! ). I've never seen anything like this before - I'm glad.
ATMOSPHERE: On a working afternoon it was full of people - all the tables are occupied. And schoolchildren, and "white collars", and just different people. Many have observed discount cards - accordingly, since there is a permanent audience from the locals, this is a sure sign of the “right” institution.
MENU - pizza, sushi, pasta, risotto, salads, soups, pancakes. Alcohol is also present.
Pizzas 50 types = a ready-made offer and about the same number - in the "Assemble yourself" option; the price varies depending on the diameter and filling; the minimum price for a small (15 cm) pizza is 21 UAH, the maximum price for a half-meter size is 170 UAH. Children's pizza KIDS - with a toy.
Soups: several types, from minestrone for 16 UAH. to cream soup with broccoli and spinach for 25 UAH.
Pancakes - 18 varieties, price range from 11 to 23 UAH, from the simplest ones with banana-chocolate filling to exotic ones like pancakes with Philadelphia cheese and flying fish caviar. The lady waiter highly recommended branded chocolate pancakes with cottage cheese. I confess that the Siciliano pizza with beer I chose was both tasty and satisfying, and therefore this time I didn’t manage to enjoy the taste of the signature dessert either (.
Sushi is also served in the usual format and you can choose a set. Here, again, I will not say anything, because. I think that just as a Japanese cannot cook real Ukrainian borscht, so “our” sushi are very far from their counterparts in their historical homeland. Although, who knows, maybe I'm wrong.
The STAFF is prompt without fuss and polite without fawning. Nice.
ADDITIONAL OPTIONS - on weekdays 20% discount for students with a student card and for schoolchildren - with a diary (! ). Possibility to take a drink to go (also at a discount). On weekdays, pizza customers are offered chicken broth as a gift (for some reason they forgot me, but this is nonsense). You can order pizza with delivery (for example, to the hotel where you are staying).
SUMMARY: And for comforting a hungry traveler, and for an out-of-office snack, and for “talking” with friends, and for “Ole-ole-ole-ole! Ukraine, forward! ”, And for a family dinner - very, very much.
