Monument to the Blue Hand
A temporary monument to the blue hand was opened in Kyiv on the site of the former Lenin monument opposite the Bessarabsky market on September 27.2018.
A temporary monument, although nothing lasts forever, everything is temporary, even the former Lenin monument itself made of Karelian quartzite.
The new attraction of the center of Kyiv is free and photos against the background of the hand are also free and you can even touch the hand for free.
The temporary monument or art object is called the Middle Way, created by the blue hand of the Romanian sculptor Bogdan Ratsi.
Perhaps this is a tribute to Charles Perot's fairy tale "The Bluebeard", I suppose that in this case the sculptor saw that if a person has a blue beard, then his hands are also blue.
Or the sculptor is a fan of James Cameron's film "Avatar", and also installed the hand of the inhabitants of the planet Pandora Na'vi as a tribute to the famous director.
On Taras Shevchenko Boulevard overlooking the blue hand, Porter Pub is located where you can drink good beer and enjoy the view of the new monument or taste delicious khinkali at the GoGi restaurant also overlooking this art object, or eat sushi in Eurasia overlooking the the entire Bessarabian area
There are versions that the monument is to residents of most districts of Kyiv who have been turned off hot water since May.
