For the first time in a hotel with the concept of children's and family holidays, before that we chose quieter and quieter. But this time, for the first time, I flew with my 4-year-old son myself, so I approached the choice carefully, studied all the details, and chose Club Calimera Serra Palace for several reasons. Firstly (and this was decisive) - the presence of a children's club meant active recreation for children, and this was a very important point for me, and secondly, the Side area itself is considered one of the best places for children's recreation, and it is relatively close - about 1.20h drive from the airport, and thirdly the price for May pre-season was very nice. So, the choice is made, now impressions.
Let me start by saying that I have never regretted my choice. The hotel met my expectations so much that now I can hardly remember those little things that can be written down as possible disadvantages of the hotel. Well, for example, the construction of the first building was going on at the hotel, and when the tourists were dropped off in front of it, the guide advised me not to pay attention to the construction site and go further, convincing that "everything is beautiful" further. So then everything is really beautiful, well-groomed, green and very "pool". There are really a lot of pools here, as well as flowers with palm trees: bridges, sunbeds, awnings, paths - the territory is bright and quite large. Tourists live in bungalows from one-story to three or four floors. The hotel has an unspoken rule of settlement - the Slavs (Russians, Ukrainians, etc. ) are settled separately and mostly away from the central building, almost on the edge of the territory, the Swedes, Germans and Austrians occupy the central buildings. Many see discrimination in this and even specifically demand a change of number, but personally I didn’t care - except that going to a restaurant with a child took 10-15 minutes, because. we walked slowly, sniffing all the palm trees with flowers along the way. By the way, the check-in itself was long and we were very tired. Yes, I understand that check-in at the hotel is from 14-00 according to the rules, but still, given the early departure and the children exhausted by the road, they could have made a discount and cleaned the rooms faster. Especially in the hotel was not yet the high season. We barely waited for our room, which we received at about two o'clock in the afternoon and just overslept for the second half of the day.
The room itself is spacious, bright, a small balcony, two beds, a bar, TV, hair dryer - everything worked. We didn't use the air conditioning, but it worked too. Cleaning in the room is inconvenient, so this can really be attributed to the first disadvantages of the hotel. In the morning, the central buildings and rooms on the lower floors are cleaned. They got to us on the third floor only for dinner, exactly for the daytime sleep of a child. I had to put up a "do not disturb" sign. Several times our room was cleaned in the morning, the rest I personally asked the staff - the benefit was cleaned every time, but still it's inconvenient, agree.

It was not far to go to the sea from our building, since we were "on the outskirts", the beach is wide, spacious, sunbeds under a common canopy, sand on the beach with a strip of pebbles. The pebbles in it are of different sizes, but the only way to the sea is through it, so beach flip flops are very useful. The water was cool, the Russians were swimming as usual, the Europeans were just sunbathing, and the little ones were busy in the pools. There are many children's pools, the water level is 40-60 cm, there are many slides, fountains, there is where to splash. There are also separate slides, when we were finishing the construction of a children's water park, I think it will be great here in the season! Well, we, as heat-loving ones, swam in the indoor pool. The water there is not heated, and when it was raining outside, the water in the pool was very cold. But the rest of the days were great.
There is enough food in the hotel for everyone : ) It is really tasty, varied and served at the level. As befits the top five, several types of meat, fish, cuts, vegetables, as well as fruits and fresh ice cream (for an additional fee) were available. Every evening - national cuisine of different countries. With me they baked cakes right on the floor in the restaurant, the children liked it. Sweets are also on the level, we tried everything. The son himself poured colorful chemical juices for himself (we don’t drink this at home), mixed them in a glass and drank various “cocktails”, walking like that! By the way, what is worth noting is a special children's buffet in the restaurant - with small chairs, tables, children's dishes and a children's menu. The menu included mashed potatoes, pure rice, steamed vegetables, meat without spices, cold cuts and a few neutral sweets to choose from. Milk porridge was cooked in the morning, and even a small child had something to feed from the adult table. There is also a blender, microwave, heater, vegetable cutter - to choose from. There were always a lot of kids in the buffet, my son went there only.
Well, the highlight of the program is the Toucan Club. I must say right away that there are a lot of children in the territory. Screams, screams, laughter - it's everywhere. We were delighted with the club. The club itself is surrounded by a fence around the entire perimeter and consists of several houses, a lawn and a platform with slides and sand. At the entrance, one of the animators is usually on duty at the gate, not allowing the child to leave the territory of the club without permission. They accept the club from 4, the animators speak Russian and German, therefore the children are divided into two groups. In the morning, you can bring the child and leave it for signature, then pick it up for lunch, bring it back in the afternoon, and pick it up in the evening against signature. Real Kindergarten! Every day - a new program, morning exercises, then games, then dances, music, games again. In the evening - children's animation and awarding medals for special achievements. There are so many children on it that they can hardly fit on the stage. After children's animation, the child can be given another hour to watch cartoons, at which time parents can easily watch an adult program. Children from the club are delighted - they look for treasure like pirates, they play Indians, they bake real cookies from dough, they build castles, and all this with music, screams and squeals. By the way, all the animation in the hotel is in German, although Russian-speaking vacationers are approximately equal. At the minidisco, our children willingly sing in German, it looks amusing! . Well, the adult program and animation during the day are also on the level - it was both funny and beautiful, and just great!
