Everything you need is in the room, but who cares: the door to the toilet with transparent glass, just opposite the toilet and it does not close tightly, a compartment. Soundproofing is very poor. You can hear what the neighbors are doing in neighboring rooms. Balcony-loggia, large, table, two wicker chairs and hangers for drying clothes. We had room cleaning every day. They left $1 each. The fridge was always replenished with water, Cola, Fanta, a bottle of mineral water.
Grand Side Hotel 4 * - a good hotel for a relaxing holiday. Germans and Russian Germans predominate, a few Serbs, Bosnians, few Russians, there were ten people with us.
The whole orientation here is on the Germans: the language is German and Turkish, the staff understands English poorly, I generally keep quiet about Ukrainian. At the reception, the girl is fluent in German, English and Turkish. There is no linguistic discomfort. The staff is friendly, everyone smiles, hello always and everywhere. The only big minus of the hotel is smoking in public areas. There are signs about the prohibition of smoking - they / mostly Germans / smoke everywhere, on the beach, near the pool, near the pool-bar (aka beach-bar). Near the central pool, sunbeds are occupied early, covered with towels. Many families with children, although earlier the hotel adhered to the concept of "16+". Probably Covid and quarantine have contributed to this issue.
There is no free internet (Wi-Fi). For seven days of using the Internet / unlimited. / we paid 15$ (12€) for one smartphone. It will not work to distribute the Internet to other devices, the speed is very low.
You can walk all the way to Side. The hotel itself is located in the Kumkoy area. Minibuses go to the center of Side, the fare is 5 lira, or $ 1. But they don't give change from the dollar.
The sea and the beach of the hotel can be assessed from 5 points to 3. There are more than enough sunbeds under umbrellas, there are always empty seats throughout the day. Entry into the sea is not convenient, not uniform. There are stones and some kind of slabs at the bottom, you need to go into the water carefully so as not to hit your feet. The sea is clearly not for children. The hotel does not have its own pier. The water in the sea in the morning is more or less transparent, and then muddy. There is no bar on the beach. We liked the hotel, we had a good rest. But for a change, we took an excursion to Pamukkale. Departure was at 2:30, and returned back at 21:00. I liked the tour.

We wanted to go somewhere where we would really feel like we were abroad, so we were very happy about that. The vast majority of vacationers are Germans, a few French, a few more Ukrainians and few Russians. The cuisine is at the highest level, there is always a lot of food, it is varied and often changes. For dinner and lunch every time they cook new very tasty soups. For lovers of sweets, this place is simply a paradise: a huge number of pastries, cakes, buns, baklava and other things. From drinks, coffee, tea, juices (orange, apple, cherry), cola, sprite, fanta in limited quantities in the restaurant, in the pool bar, beer from alcohol, local red and white wines (very tart), cola with whiskey and three cocktails (vodka/tequila+fanta+syrup, vodka/tequila+sprite+syrup, vodka+sprite+lemon juice). The hotel rooms are chic: everything works, in excellent condition, looks good and provides the most comfortable stay. The rooms have a hairdryer, a kettle, mugs, teas and instant coffee, a safe, a constantly replenished mini-bar with water, cola, fanta and soda, a spacious balcony with a table and chairs. The rooms are cleaned every day, they are cleaned clean, as usual they are cleaned except before arrival, they change towels, if asked - and bed linen. We had a room overlooking the pool and garden, although the sea was also perfectly visible, which is also a plus. There are no complaints about animation either, they played darts, water polo, beach volleyball, boccia with us, did gymnastics and shooting, water aerobics took place twice a day. As for children's animation, it's hard for me to judge, but I've never seen a single child running out of the children's room with a request to return to their mother: they draw with them, and play, and sculpt something, and just do not do. By the way, an animator who speaks excellent Russian is involved with the children, so there is no need to be afraid that the child will not understand anything and he will be bored.
Since the hotel is designed for Europeans, everything extra (sauna, hairdresser, photographer, or some small ball, sunblock, chips, etc. ) is sold in euros, but it’s good to come with a dollar and change it here for Turkish lira.
As for the rest itself... There are three swimming pools on the territory of the hotel: one main, the second with three slides and the third for children with children's slides, well, just for the little ones. Near each there are sun loungers that are in excellent condition, they are washed every day, tables and umbrellas, a bar. Towels are given out here, for this they give a special card upon arrival, but we came with our own. The hotel, a 10-second walk, has its own sandy beach with the same sunbeds, tables and umbrellas, where you can also take hotel towels and drinks. The sand is fine, white and clean. The only serious disadvantage is the entrance to the water: a huge number of large reefs underfoot, which are still not very visible, cause a lot of pain and discomfort. But if you literally walk for 20 seconds to the beach of the neighboring hotel (Larissa Beach, right next to the pirate ship), then this problem is solved by itself: they don’t have stones when entering the water. And so, the water is very warm, the entrance to the sea is gradual, the water is salty, as it should be : )
Of the excursions, we went only to the Land Of Legends Water Park, where we received just a storm of positive emotions.
The hotel is positioned as 4 stars, but the only thing that was not here, as in the top five, was shampoos, shower caps, toothpastes and other bathroom paraphernalia. Although there was always liquid soap near the sink, there was also gel in the shower gel dispenser in the shower.
