The hotel is small and cozy, with a small courtyard and a nice pool with a waterslide. The restaurant with an open veranda is also good.
The room is compact, clean, towels changed daily. The plumbing is in good condition, the mattresses on the beds are super, it is very comfortable to sleep. Not enough space to store clothes, but we got used to it. There are balconies, linen dried instantly.
The food is varied and tasty, desserts are top class. There have always been watermelons and melons. BBQ evenings outside. Special thanks to the chefs, great fellows. From early morning to late evening on my feet. And even after cooking, they went out for distribution, always smiling and friendly. This can be attributed to all the staff of the hotel, true professionals. For goodwill, energy and willingness to help, special thanks to Yasha, who speaks English and Russian.
There are downsides, of course. Long road to the sea, inconvenient transportation schedule, paid Wi-Fi, lack of access to scales for weighing luggage (paid service).
The road to the beach takes about 20 minutes at a calm pace (there is a bus from the hotel), we often walked. The beach is clean, sand with small pebbles, there were always enough sunbeds. The sea is excellent. I will definitely come back to this hotel.
The food is excellent and varied.
The hotel staff is wonderful and accommodating. They will always come to the rescue.
The hotel has its own beach with sunbeds and umbrellas. The sea is clean and very warm.
If you are looking for a good place for a relaxing holiday, then this hotel is perfect.
The kitchen is average, but you can always choose something to eat. There was enough food, there was fish once a week, chicken every day. The coffee in the machines is very bad, it's probably not even coffee.
The rooms are small but clean, cleaning and linen change every day.
It is very far from the sea, about half an hour, if at an average pace. Sunbeds on the beach dedicated to the hotel are free, but often everyone is busy.
The staff at the hotel is very polite and attentive, the waiters in the kitchen are nimble and pleasant, no one is rude and does not look obliquely.
Wi-fi in the hotel is paid everywhere, we used it on the beach - it's free there!
For young people a boring hotel, for families with children it will do well.
The hotel consists of two parts (buildings), which are interconnected as a single building. In one building there are rooms on the 0 floor, an elevator. There is no elevator in the second building. The air conditioning works in a strange way than in other hotels. But in the end, I didn’t use it, the room did not go out on the sunny side, pine trees grow under the windows, the only thing is noisy if the room faces the street. You can hear the music of the neighboring hotel, singing from the mosque, barking dogs in the wasteland at night, auto-moto equipment. There is no animation, in the evenings the kids get bored there. The contingent of vacationers most of all - the elderly. Were with small children, but very few. There were young couples.
The food is very good! The beer is good. Due to the small area of the dining room - no need to run around with plates, cut circles and look for a convenient place - like in huge hotels! It is possible to sit at the table both inside and outside, and in the smoking area (near the bar). Everything is calm, measured. There is a small selection of food. In the evenings, cooking is done and tables are set outside. The men were definitely not hungry! For 7 days there was 2 times fish, fried meat and pasta with meat in the evenings. Enough fruits and vegetables! Maybe true, because the season was. But the fruits are large and a good selection! The kitchen is EXCELLENT!! ! Thanks chefs!! ! And for the attendants, they work like bees, quietly, inconspicuously, neatly. There is, of course, dirt in places, you can see it in the first days, and then it doesn’t hurt your eyes...
The territory of the hotel is practically absent. There is a small secluded place, such as a playground, there is a bench and coniferous trees, it’s good to sit there, breathe in the aroma of trees.
Nearby there are shops, near the ancient city with ancient ruins, shops, a beautiful embankment, it's nice to take a walk in the evening.
Everything would be fine, but....THE SEA IS FAR! Although for lovers of hiking, or watching the figure, it’s even good that there is an opportunity (reason) to walk. There is a free shuttle to the beach, but it is often crowded and the travel schedule may not suit you.
The journey takes about 20 minutes. On the sand with stones, partly on the desert. On the way, you can go a little to the side to the bus parking and buy ice cream and freshly squeezed juice for 2 bucks / 10 lira.
The beach is good, good sunbeds, there are umbrellas, tables with ashtrays. But the Russians smoke lying down and the smoke is everywhere and everywhere!! ! It is not possible to breathe and just lie down to sunbathe! Few people stepped aside to smoke. The beach has a very decent toilet, shower, changing cabins. There is a cafe with soft music that does not interfere with rest! I heard positive feedback from vacationers about the food in this cafe, the portions are huge, everything is fine, but the shrimp was not recommended.
The sea and the entrance to the sea are just super!! ! You swim and admire the ruins on the shore, the coastal part of the ancient city!! ! The sand on the beach is coarse and grainy. The kids love to play on the beach. A bit dirty sand, near the sun loungers (cigarette butts, small garbage)
Special HUGE THANK YOU!! ! Natalia (responsible for the hammam) and Xenia (administrator at the counter)! For their hospitality, courtesy, care and attention, interest in every guest!! ! Ask everyone, you can consult with them. They do a good massage in the hamam, a pleasant atmosphere, simple, nothing superfluous, but cozy.
You can return to the hotel! I recommend!! ! Good atmosphere at the hotel.
Surprisingly, for the price, good hotels in Turkey cost so much that you can go to Spain, which is complete nonsense. Briefly, being a budget tourist, I will characterize Turkey as follows - a country of filthy cigarettes, deceit and baksheesh.
The Oz Side Hotel is a MAXIMUM 3 STARS, but not 4, normal in itself, apart from a small room - for 2 adults and 2 children they gave a room for a maximum of 2 adults and said that there are no others all the same. Well, or perhaps part of the global Turkish deception. The Turks are cunning and deceive everywhere.
So - the room is small, the ventilation does not work - very stuffy. He called the technician and he checked - everything is supposed to be the way it should be. You have to constantly turn the air conditioner, which accordingly causes a cold, snot, sore throat, well, it’s understandable in general - take medicine for your throat.
The food is, of course, peculiar - nasty Turkish sausage, I don’t know from what (it’s impossible to eat, but everyone eats%%%), some sort of dirty trick like soup, salads of dubious fullness, but + to this there is always meat chicken, rice, french fries, pancakes. In general, the breakfast is not very good, but lunch and dinner are good.
Touching and annoying are the ever-starving vacationers who storm the dining room with a crowd with burning eyes, take 6 plates and rush between all the bowls of food.
The trouble is with the beach - it is located if you walk in the sun for at least 30 minutes, there is a bus, but according to the Turkish custom of making money from tourists, you can leave the beach back only after 15:00, and if earlier, you need to somehow organize yourself by asking the bus driver and he bring the dollar! Disgrace. The hotel freezes says the bus is not theirs. And to shove back in the sun from the beach through the dust and sand, I will say the pleasure is so-so. In general, once again do not go to the beach.
Again, the sunbeds are constantly busy, the hungry, having eaten half a bucket with burning eyes, storm the first bus in the morning, and when you arrive at the beach by the second bus, all the places are already taken. They don’t have so many things to scatter them all over the sunbeds, but wherever you go, they will still tell you that it’s busy. This is very annoying and stressful. Nearby, of course, you can lie down for money. Also, if you go to a supposedly free beach, you have to buy a sun lounger, because they are stuck right up to the water and it’s not a fact that you can put your towel near the water. But specifically on the beach from this hotel there is a place.
Further - I went on an excursion to Antalya to show the children a marine aquarium ...people - never go there! This is the SHAME of Turkey - not a single living coral, half-dead pale fish in cramped banks.
Half of the aquariums in general with fresh water - there are painted dead corals and freshwater fish swim and even in one aquarium there were freshwater algae!
The tunnel under water is a complete horror and disgrace ...
It is written everywhere and on advertising free wi-fi, yeah already two. ANYWHERE in Turkey there is no free Wi-Fi!
I bought Turkish Parliament cigarettes, it’s impossible to smoke, ala vatra without a filter and then chewed in my mouth like a boot ...%%%
And, Turkish just freezes, as they say, the custom is to demand a tip everywhere. Here I am going from the airport to the hotel and the guide of the anex tour tells me - we have a custom to give a tip, so over there at the driver you throw a box to him that he drove you well.! ? What kind of fright is asked, or am I supposedly going for free ?? ? And so everywhere - at the hotel at the reception a box, in the dining room, etc. Internet in the hotel is ONLY paid - 7 bucks for 3 days !! ! At the same time, the speed is terrible and it catches badly, well, in the lobby it’s normal, but in the room it’s not a fact that it will happen at all.
In general - whoever has money think 10 times before going to Turkey.
Internet is paid: five dollars for three days. If the check-in is not for a week, but for a longer period, then you should think about a Turkish SIM card, which costs almost $ 20: the connection will always be of good quality.
The beach is a kilometer (! ) From the hotel, if you follow the route that runs not through a hole in the fence, but along the main streets of Side. But this is only the first 700 meters. Then you have to walk along the dirt road and swallow the dust raised by passing vehicles. The fearless "cut" the path through the dump or through the wasteland, but then they still go under the scorching sun along the same dirt road. Someone decides to "tie" their vacation to the schedule of free buses, and will probably be happy. In October, you can shake the "inclusive" on foot: it's not as hot as in July or August. But disappointment is still inevitable: boors work on the beach, expelling you from the right side of the territory, marked with identical white sun loungers and blue mattresses and the letters SEASIDE, to the right, exactly the same, without explanation, shouting "come on" or "4 lira" . And they won’t let you enjoy the sunset at the sea either, even if you pick up your towels and move to the legal left side of your hotel: they will kick you out with the same Russian words and Turkish curses at 17.31, and even kick the sun lounger with your foot if you persist, as this was done on one of the days of rest by a certain "unkind" Turkish fellow waiter, showing how all the tourists got it together, and especially those who do not buy drinks on the beach and do not tip. Colleagues are usually supportive.
Conclusion: I would never return to the hotel because of the beach workers and its remoteness from the sea, and I would NOT recommend it to any of my friends and acquaintances.
On the plus side, the food is very good. Here you will not have problems that there is not enough meat or it is quickly taken apart. And different things and a lot and constantly change, for a week they have never been repeated in terms of meat dishes. And they are all very tasty.
The second biggest plus is the staff. The room is really cleaned every day. In principle, it does not stop throughout the hotel and all the hotel staff are engaged in this. So that somewhere it was dirty and they did not pay attention to it - this was not the case. Constantly, somewhere they wipe something, clean it, take it out, etc. It feels like you are almost sterile.
The third plus is the hotel building itself and its condition. As of July 2018, it is in excellent condition and there are no complaints about this. Everything works, nothing flows anywhere, does not spark, does not creak.
Now for the downsides. Far from the sea (on foot about 2 km). The bus takes you to the sea only in the morning (there is a timetable in the lobby). Wi-fi is paid and of poor quality (it catches well in the room).
What follows is purely subjective. No animation. For me, this is a plus, because. I do not like it. Those who want to hang out - this hotel is definitely not for you. But every 2-3 days in the evenings various performances or foam parties are organized.
The hotel itself is relatively close to the bus station Side. You can leave it on your own, for example, to Antalya (15 lira) or Alanya (24 lira). A little further is the historical part of the city with the temple of Apollo, the amphitheater and in general all the sights of Side. I recommend visiting them immediately after dinner, when the sun has almost set. during the day in July it is very hot. There, among the historical sights, there is a whole shopping district consisting exclusively of various shops for tourists, cafes and restaurants. Also within walking distance from the hotel is a Deniz Bank ATM, where you can immediately withdraw lira from your Sberbank card without commission. There are several supermarkets (I recommend trying the local Ayran), McDonald's, Burger King, Pizzeria, LC Waikiki store.
Another feature of the hotel are actually vacationers. This is not a 100% Russian hotel, almost half of the Germans, British, Turks and even the French met here. Therefore, not all staff speak Russian, some speak only English and German. Yes, and the whole of Side is imprisoned mainly for the Germans. Most of the booklets and inscriptions will be duplicated primarily in German.
Personally, my stay in this hotel left only positive memories.
The food is varied, there is a grill almost every evening, there are no queues for food, the service is beyond praise, special thanks to Yakub and Alexander Mikhailovich)
Very good location, within walking distance of the promenade, the old town, there is McDonald's nearby (a good landmark in the city), currency exchange with a good rate, it takes about 25 minutes to go to the hotel beach, but for us this is more of an advantage than a disadvantage, and the beach itself is spacious, sun loungers, mattresses, umbrellas are all available.
We returned with the best impressions of the holiday and will gladly come again next year!
