Marmaris is not the CORRECT REVIEW.

It seems to me that a good review is one that can be scolded for "spoilers".

Personally, I love these - I read and got the necessary information before the trip: where, what and of course - how much? There are such reviews on Tutrpravda - informative and informative. I'll try to match. But, knowing my nature, I cannot be sure how the letters will form.

Beautiful wild beach

Ah, in the beginning - how it all began.

Nothing was planned. Well I was in Egypt in the winter with my husband. But, an unemployed friend, having been there, began to whine - let's go, I'm so cold and sad here, winter is tired, spring does not come, there is no work. The seed fell on fertile ground, the prices for Egypt for some reason pleased me and I wanted to. Then something began to interfere with us - mainly the employment of an unemployed girlfriend. Then, along with the change of the season, the concept changed - let's go to Turkey! Prices for Turkey fell (we saw UAH 3980 per person). Of course, I switched - let's go to Turkey (although there are no corals and fish there, and I still didn’t swim with a mask). Then: no, let's wait, it's still cold in Turkey, but it's already hot in Egypt. It's the end of April. Then something else... and I realized that I would be led on such a leash for a long time... (maybe 11.06. ? Well, let's not guess... ). I think there would be another argument - it’s already hot in Turkey... and you see the New Year there, one more reason not to go.

All in colors

What to do? I can't derail anymore. And then my husband was finally laid off (he is free! ), But it's scary to live. And I understand that I cannot bear the disappointments. I need to go to the sea - to think about life (as I. Brodsky advised). And then ridiculous prices for Turkey... And they grow every week, and my strained along with them. An adult could stop and save money for a rainy day. And what for? He's already arrived! And I thought, what's the difference? Starve to death in a couple of months or six months? It is better to go to the sea while there is time, some money and mood! There will be something to remember on cold autumn evenings, and there the snow will sweep us along with our problems. I am ashamed of how I behaved, “persuading” my husband to spit on problems and go together, but for some reason I don’t regret it! It was the best trip ever!

When my husband agreed to go, we started monitoring prices. For some reason, it was no longer scary to do everything online, we didn’t seem to have anything to lose, and we decided to buy via the Internet, which we would never have done before. Of course, that wonderful price of 3980 UAH. no more from the nose. There were Fortuny (UAH 4600.00), but in reality, this is already too much risk. Although travel agents assured that you can go to Marmaris along Fortuna, it simply cannot be bad there. But, we read the reviews on Turpravda and we cannot but prepare. Therefore, we decided to choose the cheapest hotel, and not Fortuna. It turned out to be Serai Club for 416 dollars for 2. We quickly bought everything online (there is still no contract). We thought that even though it is far from the sea, we know about it and are ready. In principle, we were satisfied with the hotel (and the 2-room penthouse that we got).

Everything about the hotel separately:

Back to news » In a hurry, packing a bag, we tried to replenish our modest knowledge of Turkish, so as not to confuse it with Arabic. You need to know a couple of phrases, showing respect for the population of the host country. For example, questions:

- How to get to the bus stop? - Otobyus durayna sent gidebiliris?

- Where did you take my suitcase? - Benim bavulumu neres getur dupyus?

- Didn't you see where the man with the suitcase ran? - Benim bavulumla kochan kishi neteref gitti?

- Where did you take me? - Nere beni geterdynes?

- Are there really one-star hotels? - Bir yildyzly olurmy hotel?

- Are you sure this is a real Gucci jacket? - Bu montun gercek Gucci olduguna eminmi siniz?

Useful phrases:

- Sorry, at first I mistook my double room for a minibar -

Sorry ama, ben yki kizhilik ode to tumtugmu saamyshtym dagil minibar.

- Swear by Allah that this is a real Gucci - Allahyn adina emichi et-bu mal Gucci!

- For such money I can buy half of Istanbul - Bu paraya Istanbul yarysyny alyrym.

- I won't buy anything from you - Sizden hichbirshey satyn altajagym!

- You have been following me for two hours already - Benim peshimdgen yki saatir belii orsunuz!

- If you don't get off, your children will become orphans, thank you. - Eger peshimi byraktazean, chozhuklaryn etit kalazhak. Tejekkur ler.

Well, this is a joke. In fact, they only used: good morning - “gunaydin” and thank you - “tezhekkur everim”. Well, “khach para Turkish lira? ” - although when we were answered something in Turkish, we did not understand the answer to this question.

We had a standard transfer to the airport - none. Located 150 km. from the capital, it is not realistic to get to the airport with our carriers. In general, it is not realistic to get somewhere - only through Kyiv. In general, we boarded a regular bus for 100 UAH, which was supposed to bring us to the railway station. But, I didn’t take it, because contrary to the schedule it filled up and left earlier. Therefore, we drove only to Lesnaya, and there we took the metro to the station. ABOUT! Brodsky was not quite right - in order to understand something, you don’t need to go to the sea, you just need to drive the Kiev metro at night... there are so many freaks and non-formals that it’s hard to find anywhere else to go to the center. As they approached the station, they were diluted by homeless drunks, which also brought a twist to the beginning of the journey. Railway also pleased 5 UAH. for the toilet and the usual surroundings. We quickly rushed to the bus to Boryspil (100 UAH from the nose) and happily prepared to wait at the airport until departure at 5-30 in the morning. Arriving at the airport around 12-30, we realized that there were no seats! Flights to Antalya were canceled and the people occupied everything! Five hours standing? This is our way... My husband did not let me lie down on the floor in the middle of the hall, offering to sit on the installation “I love KVR”, where we comfortably ate chicken, spreading towels under the tender places. I always carry towels in my hand luggage and never regret it. And we always pack our luggage at home (100 UAH at the airport). Then there were preflight formalities. We managed to smuggle water in small bottles and a small square juice (it was almost taken away on the way back, but I drank it).

Airport - a new day begins

Dutik pleased with discounts on whiskey and martini, so we decided to take a martini for 6 euros (and in Dalaman it was already 9.90 euros). Drenched in perfume, we reached for the landing.

The plane was huge and cool - a Boeing 767. But not the same as in the diagram - there are seats 2 then 3 then 2. We were given seats in the first one! two in a row. This has never happened! In the front row. . . at the bow. . . the husband joked that he should go through the back door and fight his way through the crowd saying, "sorry, I'm in business class. " It failed - everyone was let in through the first door.

Dalaman Airport was modest compared to Anatolian, but everything went quickly and in an organized manner.

Dalaman Airport

. . . We left at 9 am, stopped by a modern caravanserai, where you can eat, buy something and visit the toilet (for free, although they hint that you can leave 1 lira).

Caravanserai

The hotel was almost on the mountain.

They settled us quickly and coolly, as mentioned above, and after having lunch we decided to run to the sea. See if we can walk in 40 minutes.

View of Marmaris and the distant sea from the Hotel

We meandered through the picturesque streets for about an hour (feeling like Mironov in The Diamond Hand, or Farada in The Enchanters).

I couldn't get rid of the feeling of unreality of this beauty and kept filming these wonderful streets, wonderful cottages and magnificent bougainvilleas and other picturesque vegetation.

Whole holiday villas for rent all around

In the end, despite all these beauties, we decided to fork out for buses (2 lira from the nose is fixed - pay at the entrance), because in the heat you might not be able to get there. Buses No. 2 and No. 3 travel along different routes to the same end points, which we needed and needed. And kind drivers, learning that we were from Serai Club, even brought us closer to the hotel. Can we imagine this? ABOUT! I love Turkey! Egypt seems to have something to worry about.

We also walked along the beautiful promenade by the sea, examined the beaches and yachts. Everything is beautiful, crowded and somehow clean. Somehow they did not dare to swim, because they were confused by such a riot of life. We went to Migros to change money (there is a good rate there) - we bought a large bottle of some kind of drink (2.68 lire). Exchange rate 20 dollars = 91.93 lira.

We also went to McDonald's to drink a banana-pineapple neck, as it was very hot, although clouds were creeping in from the mountains.

Tonic drink

They bought me a hat from the sun (of the "Fedora" type) in some nooks and crannies for 25 lira (in Migros the same one for 10 dollars). And they rushed to the hotel, because they did not want to get caught in the rain.

We met with the guide at 18-00. Its price of at least 40 dollars did not please. Jan's agency offered a yacht trip around the islands for $ 25, and even with a foam party. It was because of the foam party that we didn't want to. Or rather, not even for this reason, but simply because of the limited budget.

At 19-30 we had a successful dinner and went to rest. It was a busy and long first day, it was time to get comfortable and bye.

Day two. May 30.2018

Initially, we decided that we would have a quest plan for the sights of daytime Marmaris, which are not filled in Turpravda and which will not require a lot of expenses (preferably free of charge). We wrote out everything that was suitable, compared it with the information from other sites, and realized that the data did not match (and either there were no photos, or they were clearly not the same). And that means that we will get exactly the quest looking for sights. It also turned out that we can, in principle, add to the list of these attractions, which is also interesting. But, in the beginning - to find out where our beach is.

Breakfast was hearty, then loading at 9 o'clock in a minibus to the beach - like herrings in a jar. The decision was fixed - we will spend money on local transport.

They landed somewhere on the embankment without comment.

This is where the Cove cafe was dropped off

We asked experienced people - where is our beach? Wherever you want... and experienced went towards the port. Well, where they brought us (the building of Cove Beach), here we settled down, as we saw a good toilet and shower. The beach boy invited us to loungers near the sea and for this we ordered 2 cocktails for 16 lire. But.

This is not half your kingdom for a horse, this is a drink for the beach!

Back to news » Marmaris has begun to live up to its reputation as the most expensive resort among the inexpensive ones. A convenient sandy entrance to the sea, but now you can see a film from the fuel of yachts, and by 11, along with crowds of vacationers, garbage appeared in the water. Unable to bear the fact that children dig sand with my slippers, and teenagers run “over their heads”, douse themselves with water (getting into us) and jump with a “bomb”, they decided to leave this welcoming place and never come back here. There are plenty of beaches, but we understood the system. I liked the wild beach near the port more, it is cleaner, freer, there are showers and a toilet. Only here there is nowhere to hide and you won’t lie here for a long time.

Dondurma and wild beach

So we went along the embankment to the port - the first sight on our list.

Embankment and yacht parking

Back to news » This is a very picturesque place - in addition to yachts, there are restaurants here and in general everything is clean and beautiful. In parallel, behind the buildings, the entrances to the Grand Bazaar flicker.

https://www.turpravda.ua/places/tr/marmaris/Bolshoj_bazar_Marmarisa-s3229/

Here you want to walk and walk.

Beautiful lawns all around

Picturesque embankment

Picturesque houses rise and behind them the Castle-Fortress.

A cafe and a castle in the distance

But, we had to find Bar Street to appreciate it during the day. Without a hint from the locals, they would not have noticed - a narrow curved, unremarkable street, similar to a gut (runs parallel to the port embankment).

Street bar - entrance. In life during the day it is worse

But, there are a lot of bars inside, even a USSR bar was found. Didn't fall apart!

In general, it's funny, but for me, such places at night would be scary. Not mine. But, noted, visited the attraction.

Bars Street

Next - Castle (Museum). Warned that the entrance must be searched, they searched. And it was a pleasure to wander through the little flowery stepped streets full of micro shops and micro cafes. Everything is so beautiful and cozy that it's hard to leave. But, we have a plan!

Looking for the entrance to the Castle is interesting!

Entrance to the Castle-Fortress is paid - 8 lira from the nose! And it is lire, dollars are not accepted. Let's go look for a change.

And they found another attraction - the Hafsa caravanserai, built by Suleiman the Magnificent himself in 1545! And then we had the most historic dinner in our lives! Where else can you have such a "historical" lunch?

Historical kebab

https://www.turpravda.ua/places/tr/marmaris/Karavan_saraj_Hafsy-s63/

I won't say it right away. In general, we do not feel sorry for a dollar spent on a cafe in this caravanserai. Our historical kebab with fries cost us 20 liras per nose. Sprite 9.50 lira. Total - 59 lira for a hearty lunch. Having rested in a wonderful historical place under the fresheners, visiting the most historical amenities, exchanging currency, we went to the museum, full and satisfied.

The Castle-Fortress-Museum did not disappoint us! Wonderful place! For me, this is the perfect attraction - a mixture of history, seascapes, a beautiful garden and a fresh breeze!

https://www.turpravda.ua/places/tr/marmaris/Zamok_muzej_Marmarisa-s59/

I couldn't leave here - great views and interesting expositions! And although the fortress itself has been heavily restored (which can already be considered a remake), I really enjoyed it! But, we must move on!

Bedesten Market

https://www.turpravda.ua/places/tr/marmaris/Rynok_Bedesten-s60/

Back to news » We were exhausted while searching, asking the locals - they don't know. : )

Where to go?

And this is all in the very center in plain sight! A small yellowish building with domes near the mosque. Outside boutiques, and inside a cafe with a garden and a fountain. But, everything is closed and why it is not clear - the decision of the government.

Yellow building on the left

So you can walk around the attraction and check in.

And also see the Ibrahim Agha Mosque.

The minaret of the mosque

We walked along the wonderful streets.

Streets, streets....

Streets, back streets

Picturesque!

And then it started to rain and we hid in the covered market of the Grand Bazaar.

Then we went towards the square with fountains to the dolmush stop. There is a clock tower here, like in Kemer, but the fountains are more interesting. Here is the famous fountain show (until October).

Square with fountains

Back to news » And next to the Yuylik Archeology Park. Or otherwise - Iyilik rocks. Through the fence we examined the exposition of archaeological ruins dating back to the 4th century BC. BC. and cats lying on them.

Archaeological Park

It seems that this is a country of cats - they are everywhere, in all sights.

Seals are everywhere

At the same time, the country of holes (motor scooters), which are also everywhere and everywhere and eventually stop responding to them, they need to - let them go around. And we are on vacation and we have a plan!

In general, having had enough of impressions, we decided to go home for dinner and rest. We must be ready for tomorrow's journey.

Third day. May 31.2018

So, we planned to visit the Nirvana beach and at the same time the village of Icmeler.

Nirvana beach view from above

Back to news » After a quick breakfast, for 4 lira for 2 lira we took a dolmush to the square with fountains and there we transferred to the bus Marmaris-Icmeler (Icmeler-Marmaris). It costs 3 lira per nose fixed. When paying, they told the driver that we were on Nirvana Beach. He, of course, did not forget and landed where necessary. The stop is unremarkable, and a stone ladder leads down among the pines.

https://www.turpravda.ua/places/tr/marmaris/Pljazh_Nirvana_Bich -s3464/r315142.html

But, the beach is beautiful, the water is amazing, though without infrastructure. There are no umbrellas and sunbeds here, so you won’t spend the whole day here, you’ll burn out.

Icmeler was seen not far away and we decided to walk there.

The promenade (embankment) is magnificent in pines and oleanders.

Nice and quiet. Although, there are cyclists. And people walk enjoying the beauties.

Icmeler seemed more comfortable than Marmaris and was filled with British and other Germans more than Marmaris. And this is almost a sign of quality.

Icmeler - the center with fountains

Since it was time for lunch, we began to look for something to eat. In the cafe on the embankment there were many touts in the cafe. We walked and looked, made a detour into the city to appreciate it.

Almost Venice

I liked a place with a canal that looks like Venice (as we imagine it : ).

And we returned to the embankment. To the cheapest cafe, next to the pier where the boats leave.

This is where we had lunch

Besides lunch, the cafe was accompanied by a beach near the pier!

We sat out not a big rain in a cafe. Shawarma with french fries 15 lira. Freshly squeezed orange juice - 10 lira.

Kebab beach

I liked the beach more than in Marmaris - it's clean (although boats run nearby).

In the evening we decided to spend money on a "sea trip" - to return to Marmaris by boat. It cost 20 lire from the nose. But.

But, it was necessary to try for the site and double-check everything for yourself. The walk was pleasant, a little longer than by bus (let me remind you 3 lira per person).

View from the boat

By the way, it's better to pay for the boat not in dollars, otherwise we got 21 lira for the fare, so we didn't tip.

This trip is interesting because you can see the whole promenade and all the hotels from the sea, which is very beautiful.

Then we sat in the port of Marina, but not for long, as it was going to rain again.

We ran to the square with fountains and boarded a minibus.

Near (conditionally) near the hotel there is a fruit and vegetable stall - and we bought plums there, and the women from the hotel bought tomatoes. Everything was not tasty.

Dinner was delicious.

Fourth day. 06/01/2018

The muezzin woke us up. Although at night the neighbors constantly woke up that they were returning from night trips. Some of them saw a wild boar at the hotel at 3 am. And it's not a stage. This has already been written about. Although, maybe not a squirrel but a wild boar comes to Turkey, I don’t know.

So, the quest plan continues. Let's go look for the ancient settlement of Fiscos. In the heat, of course.

Fiscos was not found. It doesn't exist.

https://www.turpravda.ua/places/tr/marmaris/Drevnee_poselenie_Fiskos-s66/

We found a beautiful amphitheater - a renovated antiquity, which is still used today.

Amphitheater

Then we went to look for the Tomb of the soothsayer Soryana, which was marked on the military base.

Mosque near Soryana's tomb

Not true - it is on the territory of the mosque (which is quite natural):

https://www.turpravda.ua/places/tr/marmaris/Grobnica_Sariany-s62/

Tomb of seer Soryana

We walked in the heat to the point of insanity and went to freshen up in McShake, and then to the wild beach near the port to swim.

We decided to quickly return to the hotel to have a rest and even managed to have lunch. Thanks to the minibus driver for bringing me as close to the hotel as possible.

Finally, we found time for a daytime sleep (we need to gain strength after finally arriving). Then for dinner and walking around the hotel in the dark and watching cats and dodging holes.

Fifth day. 06/02/2018

Back to news » We quite reasonably decided that we had worked out enough of the quest plan for the sights of Marmaris. And we decided to go to Icmeler, which we really liked not only for the atmosphere, but for the higher exchange rate and cheaper kebabs.

Back to news » Back to news » Back to news

The road ahead

We were continually overtaken by holes and strange "family" three-wheeled holes.

And yet it was quiet, even the cicadas were not stupefying.

We got to the abandoned hotel, but didn't look at it much.

Abandoned hotel

And we went further under the scorching sun, now and then drinking some water from the bastards we brought with us and filled at the hotel.

We looked down from the edge of the road and saw a cliff and a beautiful turquoise sea, and pebbles nearby. I already really wanted to go to this inaccessible beach - it's clean, natural, there is no one, the water is fabulous! And there are no places for descent!

We have reached the observation deck.

It turned out to be a rock with a breathtaking view of the sea.

And then we saw a dolphin! True, he surfaced only 2 times. But, you saw it! And I managed to capture his fin.

And then I climbed a rock (like everyone else) and took a couple of photos from there. It turned out - this is the very place where the 2 seas merge to which they carry for 25 bucks!

After admiring the beauty and having a photo shoot, we returned to the port of Icmeler and went after it, since a wild beach was marked there.

And what a joy that it turned out to be the same inaccessible beach that we saw from above.

Of course, it's made of decent boulders and it's not convenient to walk there.

Who has good eyesight can see me on a stone on a cape

But how comfortable it is to lie on these stones!

Some of them cannot be reached on foot and only by swimming.

It was here, in silence, that I miraculously burned out (a Turkish tan on top of a long-term Egyptian tan does not hold badly).

Stones and great water

In general, we spent the whole day in this wonderful place basking in the beautiful water and inhaling the aromas of the forest on the rocks.

How good it is to do nothing by the sea and just enjoy life, reminding yourself - it's now! Remember the moment of happiness!

Staying up late prevented hunger. Dinner at 16-00 is already a bit late, but we went to a cafe of our choice to refresh ourselves before a new feat. We were recognized and given a “prize” plate of watermelons for free.

In general, we decided to walk to Marmaris along the promenade, as some advised in the reviews.

Really beautiful walk.

Very beautiful views.

But, it took us 2.5 hours with a cheerful soldier's step.

The evening passed as usual.

Sixth day. 06/03/2018

And we spent that day in Icmeler on a wonderful wild beach. The day was calm and peaceful.

There were almost no people. At lunchtime, a local guy took an Englishwoman fishing. But, we did not wait for the result (we waited about an hour), we went for lunch.

At the beginning of the promenade there is an excellent WC with a shower where you can freshen up and change clothes.

Back to news » Back to news » Back to news » Back to news » Back to news » Back to news » On this day, the price of a kebab fell from 15 to 14 lira. We kindly said goodbye to the waiters, who advised us to come either from the second half of September or in May, while it's not hot. We promised to return as soon as possible…

And also, my sneaker was torn. I got that signal too. Need shopping.

Seventh day. 06/04/2018

We decided to try the pool and be "vegetables". After talking with sunbathers nearby, it turned out that they did not leave the hotel at all. They do not fit on the bus, they are far away on foot, and it did not occur to them to ride dolmushes.

After having lunch, we went to Marmaris for shopping.

Waikiki flashed through me instantly. There was nothing to choose from. Only in the men's room were decent stylish things. They bought my husband a polo shirt for 25 lire, and for me, office black trousers for 50 lire were on sale. DeFacto pleased me more, here we spent several hours choosing sneakers for me. Here was the most modest price - 25 lira. Therefore, their appearance was not a decisive factor - the main thing was to get in and walk. And the fact that they were soft pink and shiny, it was already a silly, but nice "girly" bonus. Well, we also bought my husband another polo shirt for 22.50 lire. Well, I still have jeans for 20 lire. Well, and one more office pants for 50 lire. We stopped because the money ran out. But, really, analyzing what has been done, we came to the conclusion that 500 UAH. saved. Although, where can I buy jeans for 120 UAH?

We also bought local bagels for 1 lira and a pack of Turkish delight for 3.75 lira. On the road.

Arriving at the hotel, we found out that our flight was delayed an hour later.

Home. 06/05/2018

We got up early, packed our folded things in the evening. The bus was late for us by 30-40 minutes. We got to the airport in about 1.5 hours. The sausage with bagels he brought with him was eaten even before the search. As are apples. All this lay in our refrigerator and was very useful on the road, as we were not given lunch boxes.

Back to news » The search was to the fullest - they took absolutely all the water (rummaged through the bags). Even chips in a square package suspected that it was water. I drank my “square” pomegranate juice 250 ml without leaving the inspectors in order not to “give it to the enemy”. The customs officer was already yelling at us to hurry.

The same handsome Boeing 767 was waiting for us. We were seated in a row of 3 seats. Between 2 toilets, so there was no visibility. But, the flight was successful and without incident.

Summing up, I'll say that it's great that we spent our rainy day in Turkey. The future, as you know, is not defined, so it is better to bet on the present. This trip gives strength to live and believe in future wonderful trips. Turkey fell in love very much, especially when we traveled through it ourselves and discovered it for ourselves, without intermediaries. Thanks to all turpravdovtsy for inspiring us to independent research. In general, we hope to return to Turkey more than once... But, probably, now to Icmeler.

Although there are other interesting places!

P. S. And upon returning, I really wanted varenichki : )
