Excursion to Saklikent canyon from Marmaris
First of all, I would like to please everyone that excursions are held in Turkey!
Incredible places that are definitely worth seeing.
But not on a weekend. And not on a holiday.
While still at home, I began to look for interesting excursions from Marmaris. And I found an excursion Oludeniz-Canyon Saklikent.
As it turned out, it was offered by only one agency, which is named "MARES".
The agency is marked by Tripadvisor. But the problem was that their phone was not displayed in any messenger. Wrote them an email. It's good that their office is located in the Migros supermarket closest to my hotel. And when I already wanted to go in search of them, they themselves found me by geotag. (Now I have a viber manager, if anyone needs it).
They took me from the hotel by car to take me to the agency and familiarize me with all the possible excursions, and then they took me back in the same way. Save me from the sultry midday Turkish sun.
The tour itself cost $28, including lunch. It was well organized, but several unpleasant nuances happened to us on the way precisely because we got not only on Sunday, but also on Eid al-Adha - a holiday in which people flock to the sea from different parts of Turkey.
We were picked up from the hotel at 8 am, but the bus repeatedly got stuck in traffic jams.
Our first stop was Oludeniz Bay.
Here, those who wish could go down the mountain by parachute, and rest on the beach for the remaining 2 hours. But due to traffic jams, we got into the bay in the very sun, there were a huge number of people, and officially, according to the receipt, we had to pay as much as 30 lire for one sunbed! Further, all the delays grew like a snowball. Due to the large number of people who wanted to parachute down the mountain in Oludeniz, our group was also delayed, as a result, the timing shifted and we did not have time to have dinner at the hotel.
Therefore, if we talk about what I would like to correct in the excursion, I would single out an earlier collection as a separate item in order to stay on the beach longer.
The company's bus was comfortable, with air conditioning, wonderful guides - for Russian-speaking and English-speaking tourists.
Our next stop was the incredibly picturesque Saklikent Canyon.
Sakdykent Canyon is a unique place that tourists learned about only in 1986
Again, everything is fine, except that the gorge is about 18 km long, you can’t see it in an hour, two or even three hours, you need to go there for the whole day.
Saklikent Canyon. Excursion during the pandemic
In some parts of the canyon, walking paths are laid along its edges, and in some places the canyon must be crossed by water.
Pedestrian paths along the edges of the canyon
Coral slippers would be very useful here. The water in the canyon is a transparent turquoise color! Beauty that you can't take your eyes off!
But because of the large crowd in such a small space, I had to stand in the river. . .
. . . (the temperature of the water in which all year round is 4 ° C) longer than expected, which is why I brought home terrible bronchitis.
However, human memory is arranged in such a way that all troubles are quickly forgotten.
And thanks to this excursion, I learned that such natural objects exist, and I was able to see them with my own eyes.
Thanks to the agency "Mares" and the manager Ismail Pasha for a wonderful tour and excellent tourist service! .
