Bodrum is both a resort area, a municipality and a city in Turkey in its province of Muğ la on the Aegean Sea. In appearance, the town resembles the coastal cities of Greece with their low white buildings. And it is also the most popular Turkish resort among party-goers, as the abundance of nightclubs, discos and restaurants is second only to large Istanbul. However, Bodrum is also suitable for family travelers.
And as you know, Herodotus, the author of the first surviving treatise "History", was born into a noble and wealthy Greco-Carian family in 484 BC. in the city of Halicarnassus (modern Bodrum) and glorified this city. His father Lyx was a Carian, but he gave his sons Greek names - Herodotus and Theodore. Herodotus' uncle Paniosides was a great Greek poet of his time, one of the five best epics in Greece.
Our expectations for this trip were based on traveler reviews, not promotional brochures. They say that the Turks themselves choose Bodrum because of the milder climate and low humidity than in Antalya or Alanya, because when we were there the air temperature reached 40 degrees of fiery heat.
The search for the Hotel took us a long time due to the high prices even for triples, not to mention 4 and 5 star hotels.
By the way, the cost of a 7-day trip to Crete, Greece (breakfast only) was 10-15% lower than the cost of staying in a 3-star hotel in Bodrum.
But the magic of all inclusive and enticing photos of tourists decided everything in favor of Turkey.
OVERALL EXPECTATION RATING FOR BODRUM HOLIDAY: 5 (EXCELLENT).
Departure from Odessa turned out to be at night - what a pity. Sitting at the airport from three in the morning until departure did not bring much joy. One salvation was in the 24-hour Duty Free. What surprised me was the paid bags. For us it was obvious news. How is it to pay for a Duty Free bag, in which you can later put any souvenir bought anywhere at a discount, but gaining increased value in this bag?!
Arrival to Turkey. It was getting light… (seven in the morning after all).
Milas-Bodrum Airport is an air harbor in the southwestern part of Turkey (Mugla province), a major air hub on the Aegean coast of the country. The airport is located between two cities - Milas (16 km) in the south and Bodrum (36 km) in the northeast.
Milas Airport is busiest during the summer season - from April to October. During this period, it receives numerous flights from European cities.
The airport is not shabby. Clean enough. At the exit there will be Turkish Duty Free. Prices are not encouraging. There are no special discounts. By the way, it seemed to us that Duty Free for departure is better than this one for arrival.
Suitcases are issued fairly quickly. And you go to meet the guides in the light morning chill. By the way, it was cold enough that we began to worry a little that we had not taken jeans and a light jacket with us. But these doubts were far-fetched. With such a hot day, you have to worry that you didn’t take spare leather with built-in air conditioning, and not jeans.
What else was unexpected for us was that out of all the documents prepared, including insurance against the consequences of COVID-19, HES-code, a traveler's questionnaire, and so on, we were asked only for coronovirus tests, and then only at Odessa Airport.
GENERAL DISAPPOINTMENT WITH DOCUMENTATION COSTS THAT NO ONE EVER ASKED FOR: 1 (FAIL)
Since we boarded the bus early in the morning, our guide either didn't charge her flashlight well or didn't wake up and took two passengers with us from another bus, which turned out to be twenty minutes later. Logically, instead of these two, our guide forgot her tourists at the airport.
Then we saw this guide girl on a boat with tourists, probably demoted for forgotten tourists at the airport.
Checking in the Hotel starts at 12 pm and we had to wait, at the same time eagerly thinking about how many excursions we would take, what wonderful places we would visit and how many souvenirs we would buy - the vacation began.
We didn't settle down in the Hotel and, leaving our belongings at the reception, went to look for the Hotel's beach on the coast. Our personal Tajik turned out to be there, who was already setting up sunbeds, and behind him from 9 in the morning a boutique shop with drinks at the prices of the store began to work and everything began to fall into place.
Therefore, TIP: if you arrive early, far from the check-in time, pack towels and bedding for going to the beach at the top of your suitcase and put a couple of soft drinks in your luggage and, strictly speaking, a couple of strong drinks, you can also have some cookies, because that the body already feels that rest has begun and begins to demand food against your will.
Salinas Beach Hotel 3*
The hotel is located in the Gumbet area, just 30-50 meters from the beach. Five minutes away is the main street with restaurants and nightclubs. The hotel is 4 kilometers from the center of Bodrum, with easy access to local attractions. Near the Hotel there are supermarkets Migras and Sok. Has its own pool. From entertainment only table tennis and wifi.
There is a currency exchange at the reception. A kusr per dollar is 8 Turkish lira (in the center of Bodrum, for example, the rate is 8.1, while the official rate is about 8.5 lira per dollar). We didn’t run after the course - we changed it at the reception, especially since we found more other exchangers near the Hotel, and in supermarkets, with the popular opinion that they exchange, they don’t carry out currency exchange.
So, the Hotel is a 100% triple, in which the food is quite good for a three-star hotel.
Feeding schedule available at the reception and restaurant.
The first acquaintance with the Hotel caused us not exactly tears, but at first it seemed that the Hotel was rather tired. Old furniture. Little greenery. Small swimming pool. Dining room horror. And with a shudder we waited for the settlement, assuming to see our Room in the same condition.
FIRST IMPRESSION OF THE HOTEL, ESPECIALLY AFTER LOOKING AT THE NEARBY HOTELS: @ (WE WERE DISAPPOINTED)
So TIP: Don't be fooled by first impressions. It is quite deceptive. We noticed that the first sensations are similar when you check into hotels in Egypt, when you are driven past garbage heaps, the mood begins to deteriorate, and when you check into a room, it gets even worse. However, this is easy to fix if you swell. Not much, so that the eyes are slightly closed and the clarity of the image is gone. Then everything is normal. The same way of preserving nerve cells at the beginning of the journey can be applied when checking into this Hotel.
The Hotel itself is a separate small 2-storey houses. Some rooms on the first floors have front gardens, and on the second floors there is a balcony. Some rooms are completed, unfortunately, like ours, by neighbors Turks from France, who, obviously swollen, start rearranging furniture from 2 in the morning and apparently this is what it is hot to discuss at least until 4 in the morning. But this problem is easy to deal with - close the window (it is one) and the sound of deranged savage discussions ceases to bother you.
The double room is quite spacious and was exceptionally clean and comfortable. New bed linen. A properly working air conditioner. Cleaning is done every two days. Soap supplies are sufficient. Clean towels. And of course an unusually comfortable mattress or mattress (as you like).
OVERALL RATE OF THE ROOM: 5 (EXCELLENT)
The Hotel Restaurant is located, as it were, on the minus ground floor from the reception, which corresponds to the level of the road descending towards the Sea (in Bodrum, as elsewhere in Turkey, where we have been, differences between streets are normal: up-down, up- down, the differences are three hundred meters, and according to the sensations and the angle of the road, all five hundred).
Separate tables in the Restaurant for 2 and 4 persons are not pleasing to the eye. There is also a Bar counter and an entrance to the food distribution table as a buffet. You can take only cutlery and bread. And no variety of bakery products. Only bread like an ordinary loaf.
Breakfast seemed quite modest to us. If lunch, snack and dinner were the same, then you can move out of this Hotel.
But everything turned out much better. The food was not varied, but good enough. Soups were every other day, but they alternated hot and cold. There was always watermelon and sweets.
In general, you will not be hungry.
The Bar has a fairly large selection of drinks: from cold water to raki (their vodka). Beer on tap Tuborg. They make alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. There is wine, but we didn't try it. The only restriction is that the Bar starts working with alcohol only from 10 am.
OVERALL RATING OF THE RESTAURANT: 5 (EXCELLENT for a 3-star hotel)
The swimming pool is located near the Hotel Restaurant. Small. Fairly clean. Additionally, there is a children's paddling pool. We can’t say anything about it - we were embarrassed to use it.
What we can say with confidence is that in terms of comfort for the body (water temperature) this is one of the best pools where we have been. Even in Tunisia, swimming in a pool of sea water was not so pleasant, let alone the Egyptian pools of ice water.
Around the pool there are sun loungers under a canopy with incredibly soft mattresses and there is wifi.
There is a shower and toilet nearby (M + F separately).
OVERALL RATING OF THE HOTEL POOL: 5 (SUPER)
The beginning of the beaches (Sea) starts no more than 50 meters from the Hotel. To find your Beach you need to go to the left of the Hotel towards Bodrum. You need to walk for five minutes.
The hotel's beach is 10 meters long and 5 meters wide. There are about 20 sunbeds in total, so there are always no seats from lunch.
Entrance to the Sea by steps. Like sand, but a lot of stones. All the locals bathe in slippers and something like socks, similar to the so-called corals.
Behind the Beach there is a mini shop where you can buy water, beer, cigarettes, chips, ice cream and swimming masks. The prices in this store are exactly the same as in Bodrum supermarkets. You will not overpay.
The most interesting thing is that if you enter the Sea 15 meters to the right (towards the Hotel) from someone else's beach, the water will be warm enough.
To the right of the Hotel Beach there is a small pier where quite expensive water entertainment services are provided: riding buns, an electric boat, which is very similar to aircraft from the movie "Guest from the Future", and so on.
In the morning, small fish swim under the Beach, which you can feed with bread taken at breakfast, and sometimes a couple of ducks swim up, screaming as if they have already begun to cook for lunch or dinner.
Evil tongues say that this Beach appeared at our Hotel only this year, which, in principle, added points to the Hotel - we saw girls from another hotel, where apparently there is no beach, “asked” from ours. As we understand, not all hotels in Bodrum have their own beach…
Given the air temperature and fairly conservative prices in the shop near the Beach, we recommend that when buying beer, mix it with lemon lemonades, of which there are several types on sale. It turns out a wonderful soft drink for only 20-25 liras (2.5-3 dollars).
OVERALL RATING OF THE BEACH OF THE HOTEL: 4 (GOOD, PROBABLY)
If you look around the corner from the Beach, then towards Bodrum the Embankment along the Sea begins. Along the way, there will be beaches with sunbeds and numerous cafes decorated in a variety of styles from similar to Greek to chic restaurants (but not very successful).
In general, we got the impression that the Bodrum Embankment is similar to the one in Zatoka or Karolino Bagaz near Odessa.
In general, we can say that the similarity is not only external, design and lack of space on the beaches, but also the reasons why tourists go there and here. According to the guide at the Hotel, the Turks in total redeem 3s and 4s, and for them the main thing is that, as they say, there is a place to spend the night and, of course, that everything is all inclusive. The more affluent do not settle in the center of Bodrum, but in remote hotels or stay on yachts in the radiant bays around Bodrum. By the way, we saw a lot of cars that dragged boats and small boats on trailers towards the resort.
Naturally, prices in Bodrum, as in any resort, will be 5 or even 10 times higher than usual. For example, a cocktail of dubious quality in a restaurant on the beach will cost about 100 lira (8-10 dollars). Beer at least 40 lire (from $5). By the way, prices in the center of Bodrum, for example, for jewelry are generally off the charts - for a small silver ring, prices start at $50 (400 lira), and more or less pretty silver bracelets also cost at least 900 lira (that is, more than $100).
Walking along the Embankment is good both during the day and at night. After sunset, illumination appears - everything is quite beautiful and pleasing to the eye. There are a couple of discos near the Sea. And of course, shops with heaps of junk in the form of magnets or T-shirts and shorts of all possible well-known world brands, but the quality is lower than at the industrial market 7km near Odessa.
In general, we recommend walking along the Embankment - after all, not everything is measured by the cost of beer on vacation.
The bay of the Gumbed district ends with a hill, which offers a beautiful view of both the Gumbed district and Bodrum itself. On the top of the hill there are several mills, well, like mills, what is left of them.
Climbing this hill on foot will be quite difficult, so TIP: when traveling by taxi to the center of Bodrum, ask the taxi driver to take you up the hill for a photo session. Five minutes will be enough.
OVERALL VALUE OF THE WATERWAY: 4 (GOOD)
On the day of settlement or the next you will have a meeting with the Guide. Of course, you will be frightened by the obligation of this meeting and the negative consequences if this meeting does not take place. However, although we do not believe in this and have been traveling on our own for a long time, in this case it is possible to meet the Guide. Firstly, the prices for excursions from the Guide from the Hotel and third-party sellers do not differ much (this is not Egypt for you), and secondly, the Guide will have more options for excursions than on the side.
We were lucky - we got a very polite Russian-speaking female guide from Moldavanka from Odessa, from whom we bought two excursions: a trip to the city of Ephesus and riding a pirate yacht in four bays.
Also at this meeting, the Guide does something important in a super important electronic system with your HES-code, without which, according to her words, you can’t even go to the beach, although what she did is incomprehensible, because our HES-codes I didn’t even take it in my hands, but just asked to show it.
OVERALL RATE OF YOUR GUIDE: ? (GOING TO GO)
Add. information: if you are bad at math and miscalculate like we do with the number of Heets for Iqos on vacation, then it is impossible to buy them anywhere in the Boardroom. We could not find either in Gumbed or in Bodrum itself. And their local cigarettes, in addition to being frightening by the very type of packaging - all black packs with terrible pictures on them, also feel like they are made from the same type of tobacco, regardless of the brand. The price for everything is the same at 18.5 lira ($2). Therefore, you can go to the hotel opposite ours and there is an Iqos boutique. We are against smoking, but we are for freedom of choice - that's why we indicated this information.
OVERALL RATING OF THE Salinas Beach Hotel 3 * (this is a SOLID three - everything is OK)
A trip to the Boardroom can be free, fairly cheap and standard.
The free option is only available for the first three days from the date of arrival. You meet with the hotel guide and book a free shopping trip from him (her). True, you will have to go through a trip to a jewelry store, where gold earrings will be offered to you at a discount for 2000 Euros. You can not take anything and you will be taken to the center of Bodrum.
The second option is to get to the city and back by minibuses. The stop is located 50 meters from the Hotel in the direction of the Migros supermarket. Having reached the road from the Hotel, you need to turn right and just around the corner there will be a minibus stop. All minibuses go to the city center. You need to get to the final stop "Garage". The fare is 3.5 lira. But for this you need to have a transport card, which can be bought at the final stop in Bodrum. Therefore, when boarding a minibus, if you do not have this card, the bus driver will take 5-6 liras from you, punch through the passage with his card and you are a full-fledged passenger. On your way back from Bodrum to the Hotel, navigate the streets and tell the driver that you need to get off near the Migros supermarket. It is very scary to get lost only the first time. Then it’s normal - it’s just scary to pass your stop.
And the final option is a taxi. The fare there and back will cost about 30-40 lira one way, that is, up to $ 5.
The free option through shopping is certainly good, but why wat such a stress - take a taxi. Not so expensive and we live once, what are those 5 bucks!
The center of Bodrum is the streets, which consisted of continuous shops along the way of your investigation towards the port (sea).
Turkish goods (clothes and shoes), souvenirs and, of course, fakes of the first copy of watches, bags, as well as clothes of famous brands are presented.
Many jewelry stores and a couple of Turkish sweets.
Prices bite. They bite hard, like a barracuda shark or even stronger.
Among the variety, you can pick up something interesting and not overly expensive from the clothes of Turkish manufacturers (approximately 200-300 lira, that is, up to 50 dollars). It is also standard to visit Mavi, LTB or LcwiKiki stores and find something within 80 lira ($10), for example, for shorts.
We also advise you to take a closer look at their local leather shoes. Bodrum is famous for these sandals. Prices are around 320 lire ($40). They look very good and we noticed that many of the locals, especially the girls, if not in heels, then all are shod in these sandals.
There are much more people in Bordrum in the evening than during the day. Much is an understatement. By the way, for this reason, it is better to book a place in a restaurant you like in advance. We went around a few and only one was free and that was because the client who reserved it did not come.
It's worth it just to take a walk. The streets are decorated with care - even tiles and small sea pebbles are embedded in the floor. Along the main streets there are many beautiful narrow streets, which are unlikely to be able to pass a donkey cart, but taxi drivers somehow manage to dart around.
In the center of the city is located St. Peter's Castle or Bodrum Castle (tour. Bodrum Kalesi) - a medieval fortress in the Turkish city of Bodrum, on the territory of ancient Halicarnassus.
This fortress was built in the 15th century by the Knights Hospitaller from Rhodes. Previously, one of the Seven Wonders of the World was located here - the mausoleum of the Carian ruler Mausolus. It suffered several earthquakes and was destroyed in 1402. Subsequently, the crusaders used part of the ruins of the mausoleum as building material in the construction of the castle walls.
Local comrades told us that the name Bodrum itself is translated as a basement, and it arose from the pronunciation of the old name of the city of Petrius, then Potrus or Bodrus, and this is how today's name Bodrum was born. We will not argue how much this corresponds to the truth - this is just an opinion.
If you go to the right of the castle, you can relax in the numerous cafes opposite the harbor. But here, between you and the sea, there will be the only road along the Bodrum embankment, so there is a chance to inhale not only the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, but also the exhaust gases from the inexhaustible stream of cars.
Therefore, we think it's better to walk to the left of St. Peter's Castle. Firstly, you will walk past a large number of shops where you can buy something for memory, and secondly, here towards the sea, shops will alternate with cafes, some of which are located right on the sand, and some are located on small areas above by sea.
The design of cafes and restaurants meets expectations, but it will be difficult to find a place.
Restaurant offerings vary depending on the style of the establishment, but mostly simple meat and fish dishes are offered. There are also suggestions in the form of me of the day, like baked chicken in clay vessels.
The price of a dinner for 2 people, like a meat plate and beer, will cost about 250 lire (about $ 30), of which beer costs 45 lire. That is, the price for one dish varies between 100-140 liras. The portions are large enough that a salad, main course and a drink on your return to the hotel will reduce the interest in your dinner - there will simply not be room for it.
We enjoyed a beautiful view of St. Peter's Castle in a lovely cafe decorated in Greek style.
By the way, throughout Bodrum there are stalls with all sorts of snacks like mussels or shawarma, and there are also several cafes that offer only confectionery. The cost of one is from 25 lire (3 dollars).
Where else can you go in Bodrum - see the amphitheater for free and for some miserable 400 lire (50 dollars) go to St. Peter's Castle and the museum.
It is interesting that, for example, in Athens, according to our friend, a trip to one museum will cost 20 Euros, and buying a card for all museums will cost only 30 Euros, so it seemed to us that the cost of the museum in Bordrum was slightly overpriced. p>
So it's up to you to decide which $50 memento to bring home: clothes, a ring, or museum impressions.
We didn't go to the museum.
Also, we didn't take a sea excursion to feed the turtles from the Guide from the Hotel. Although we were not on it, but judging by the stories of vacationers, we can still recommend it.
But we took an excursion to the city of Ephesus.
EPHESUS TOUR
Ephesus is an ancient city on the western coast of Asia Minor, at the confluence of the Kaistre River (modern Little Menderes), south of Smyrna (modern Izmir) and west of the city of Selchuk (modern Turkey). According to one opinion, in the 1st century AD. e. the population of the city reached 225 thousand inhabitants and the city ranked third in terms of population in the Roman province of Asia after Sardis and Alexandria of Troas. Ephesus owes its fame to a large extent to the local cult of the eastern goddess of fertility, eventually identified with the Greek goddess Artemis. The worship of the goddess has been going on since time immemorial, but the construction of the temple dedicated to her, one of the seven wonders of the world, began in the first half of the 6th century BC
The walking tour includes a tour of the surroundings and the city itself, as well as the House of the Virgin, which is located near Ephesus - this is a small building of the 7th century. n. e. with a basement tentatively dated to the 1st century. n. e. , which at the end of the 19th century, Catholic missionaries began to identify with the house in which the mother of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, lived.
Immediately, you can give ADVICE: take plenty of water with you, since water in the sightseeing bus is paid and, if possible, an umbrella from the sun.
The trip will take approximately 2.5 hours by bus with one stop at a small hotel on the lake. Everything will be very fast here, and if you want coffee for 15 lira ($2), quickly run to the bar and try to have time to drink it before boarding the bus.
There will be lunch during the tour, but you need to take breakfast with you. Since we saw what was given to tourists in our Hotel, we decided to go to the supermarket and make our own sandwiches to our taste.
The first impression of the city of Ephesus is its size. At the entrance to the city, you can appreciate its size. Moreover, the entire territory of the city was fenced with a high fortress wall, the beginning of which you can see far from Ephesus itself.
Although this tour does not involve visiting the sea, you will still have a lot of impressions from what you see.
The stone carving and variety of styles throughout the history of the city is amazing. Archaeological excavations are currently underway in the area. Some of the elements of the buildings have been restored, but the fact that archaeologists have extracted clearly shows how much work was invested in arranging the life of the inhabitants.
During the tour, the guide will provide historical information, mixed with 50% of his personal opinion, but we still think that this is better than taking an audio guide.
In general, a live guide is better. Moreover, he, like us, did not tolerate the heat well, and therefore, thanks to him, we found small nooks and crannies, about which, apparently, he already knew where it was cool enough and we could rest.
After visiting the public toilet (of course, only a visual visit), we moved down the marble stairs.
You have to be careful here - the floor slabs are polished by millions of feet of inhabitants in antiquity and quadrillions of feet of tourists: you can easily slip.
It is also interesting that near the houses of the poor (according to the guide) the floor of the street is covered with a mosaic carpet, which is quite well preserved.
Many people also confuse Hadrian's Gate (the name of the arch in Antalya) and Hadrian's Temple in Ephesus, built in honor of the emperor in 138 BC. Now the central entrance has been restored, but for some reason Turkish archaeologists have shown a fair amount of zeal and 2 thousandth stones have been polished to a brilliant yellowness of a stone just cut in a quarry.
Further than the big theater there is a marble street that leads to one of the main attractions of Ephesus - the library of Celsus. This is one of the most beautiful buildings of the ancient city and the richest library in which manuscripts and scrolls were kept. It also served as a tomb for Celsus.
There will be free time here for about 20 minutes, but for us the time flew by unnoticed.
Further on, before visiting the central amphitheater, which can accommodate up to 25 thousand spectators, you will be entertained by a story about going to the left. According to this story, a brothel was located to the left of the library, and from here the catchphrase got its life. To confirm this legend, you will be shown a floor advertisement of a brothel with a print of the girl's left foot.
Next to the exit, past the dexterity of souvenirs, in which the guide forbade buying at least some trinket.
Regarding this behavior of the guide, it is worth dwelling separately. During the tour, you will be taken to one or two shops, which, according to the guide, offer only real souvenirs, and not fakes from China, like in all other shops in Turkey.
We got a ceramics shop, where prices naturally started from 50 lira per item.
In principle, if it weren't for the inflated price, then something could be bought - especially products with an admixture of moonstone in the clay, which, after being in the sun, provides a gentle emerald glow to ceramics in the semi-darkness of the store.
However, on the way back, you can get into a terrible traffic jam near Bodrum, so if there was no shopping on the tour, we would have returned to the Hotel 1.5 hours earlier.
So, in our opinion, visiting a shop with dubious stories about the exclusivity of products and, as a result, wasting time and being late when returning to the Hotel from the stated time, is probably the only disadvantage of this excursion.
OVERALL EPHESUS EXCURSION RATING: 5 (EXCELLENT)
As already mentioned, there will be various excursions to choose from, both in Bodrum and those involving longer trips, for example, to Antalya or even to Istanbul.
For the second excursion, we chose a sea voyage through four bays.
EXCURSION BOAT TRIP
This boat trip is of two types: on an alcohol boat and vegetarian, that is, without booze. Children and grandmothers are the same everywhere. The difference in price is something like 5 dollars, it seems.
It is supposed to visit 4 bays and thermal springs.
There are currently no travels to Kos, Greece. However, the color of the coastal strip of the turquoise sea mixed with the colors of indigo and all the colors of sapphire from soft blue to deep blue in Turkey is not inferior to the exclusive views of Greece.
The trip involves visiting the island of Karaada, namely, everyone is interested in thermal springs.
Here, behind the pier, there is a small pool of water with healing properties, the temperature of which is higher than the sea just because of the thermal springs of the island.
A description of the history of this place is presented on the information board before descending into the pool, which also indicates the healing properties of the source, which allow treating not only diseases of the joints and skin, but also other diseases.
We can say that even without describing the usefulness of the properties of water on the information stand, it is quite pleasant to be in this pool, despite its small size and the number of people simultaneously in it.
We don’t know how it affected our skin, but being in these thermal waters added peace of mind, peace and joy of life.
Feeding on the excursion was not emotional and, in our experience, it was much worse than on the same yachts, for example, in Egypt.
The return was calm and thanks to the organizers the music on the ship was not very loud, so we could enjoy the most beautiful landscapes outside the ship.
OVERALL RATING OF THE EXCURSION BOAT TRIP: 5 (WE ARE DELIGHTED)
And as we usually write in our reviews: oh, if only three more days and three hundred bucks.
But the wonderful vacation period has come to its logical end, and what kind of world without logic?
The funny thing is that both the arrival here was at night, and the departure was scheduled for three in the morning.
But here we were lucky and the flight was rescheduled for the morning.
It is worth adding about the driving style of both taxi drivers in Bodrum and drivers on excursions or when transferring to the airport.
In general, everything was decent, except for the way to the airport for departure.
The driver entered the turns of a narrow serpentine of a narrow mountain road over the abyss of the night going into the blackness as a night racer, exceeding the speed limit several times.
Once again, when the bus began to skid, we and the passengers sitting with us rebelled and began to demand that the guide reprimand the driver, to which the guide simply fastened her seat belt, although the driver was probably offended that we did not appreciate his driving professionalism, and drove on offended within the traffic rules.
This time there was no obligatory check-in as in Antalya to the souvenir shop and we were unloaded to the terminal for departure.
Have you ever been to an empty airport - we were.
In this connection, due to the lack of flights, we were forced to simply stand in front of the check-in counter for about an hour, and then, for an unknown reason, the manager came and pointed to the new check-in counters, where the queue began to move in a very unorganized manner in Brownian motion. We kept the leading 1st place in this hodgepodge of bodies of tourists and suitcases, but why the representatives of the airport did it is not clear - maybe they are bored and thus they have fun, we don’t know.
Flying at night in the rays of the rising sun is wonderful.
Here we are at home!
