1. We went for the first time through the tour operator Alliance. I read not the most pleasant reviews - I want to refute - everything is ok with them, no worse and no better than with other tour operators.
2. We arrived early, Pegasus flew - everything was on schedule, but I had never flown in such uncomfortable planes with tightly packed seats one after another - literally not everyone's knees could fit. Back was a little better. The transfer was on a mini-bus after another 2 hotels, we arrived in an hour. We checked in at the hotel, they didn’t give the room right away (we arrived at 9 am), they asked us to immediately extend the room until the end of the day (we had a late flight). They said it's unlikely, but come on the day of departure. We went for breakfast.
3. About the hotel.
I really confirm a lot with previous reviews: the whole hotel is on the descents and ascents, i. e. I would not recommend this hotel to go with strollers, elderly people or people with poor health - it will be hard.
It is better to stay in the main building (we were there) or else I liked the location of Anex Room, but they were closed, as I understood.
Number. At 2 pm we came to the reception and they gave us 2 rooms (we were with friends) with a sea view - very spacious, fresh, everything worked, white towels, everything is ok. The only thing I missed in the room was that there were no amenities in the form of shampoos, nail files, hats - nothing at all, 1 detergent dispenser near the washbasin and 1 dispenser near the bathroom.
Beach. Long, several short piers with ladders and one part with a sand entry. Everything is ok here, except for biting flies (just like ours at the end of August).
Sea. It is chic, clean, rich in color, there are fish, hedgehogs. The water is cooler than in Antalya and there is a big difference between air (40-43°C in shade) and water - 25-26°C. When you come in, it's cold, but it's very comfortable to swim for a long time - you don't freeze.
I was also surprised that the air is very dry and hot (humidity is higher in Antalya).
Food. The food was delicious, there was a lot of tasty and well-cooked meat, vegetables, fish, a sufficient variety of fruits and sweets. There was not enough seafood - I got them a couple of times in salads and that's it. Another annoying thing was warm liquor, apart from beer, in the main restaurant. Everyone offered to serve with ice. There was not enough ice cream - it was given from 15 to 17 in several places, as I understood. Once we came for him - lay on the bar in cardboard boxes 3 types of ice cream in packs pretty melted. His pleasure in eating like this was doubtful. We didn't follow him anymore.
I was also personally annoyed by the fact that everyone tried to pour, pour into disposable dishes, although you could ask and they would give you the same in ceramics.
Meeting with the guide.
Although we were traveling from the Alliance, Compass met us and accompanied us on vacation - probably this is one office. The service is unobtrusive, no one actively inclines you to anything, but it doesn’t help either (I asked for a late check-out). Tours are more expensive than online. We once went on a yacht through the bays half the price of Compass - not wow, but everything is decent. They didn't venture anywhere else because of the heat and fires.
Separately, I want to talk about fires. They were before us - we were shown the Titanic Hotel with a burned-out area - and during our stay about 4 km from us. We watched how it was extinguished from the plane from lunch until late in the evening - everything is organized.
Animation. Unobtrusive. We only went to water aerobics (short) and to evening shows - from the invitees of a good level.
4. Conclusions: the hotel is wonderful, not luxury, no frills, but definitely of high quality and above average. The region (I'm in Bodrum for the first time) - not unambiguous impressions: the sea is magnificent, bays with water of different shades, super. The climate is very dry, the air is hot, the mucous membranes are dry. Vegetation and hilliness is also an amateur - Kemer, Marmaris win here. Local, the staff is much calmer, more responsive and pleasant than on the Antalya coast.
Someone wrote in the reviews about the discrimination of the Slavs compared to the Turks - I did not notice this. Of course, when a Turk comes up in line for food, talks to the chef in Turkish, smiles, greets him and we come up - 0 emotions, maximum hello - of course, there is a difference, but this is not due to discrimination. And yes, few people in the hotel know Russian (I got 1 Russian-speaking girl at the reception and 1 apparently in the process of learning the language) and their English is also very specific, i. e. understanding each other is difficult, but not impossible. And we were very surprised that they did extend the number for free, though one of the two - but also good. I don’t know who contributed and whom to thank for this, because. everything turned out unexpectedly, although we asked everyone several times - but no one promised us and wow, on the day of departure they said that we could stay if we wanted.
Employees try their best, AUTO:
Discrimination against foreign tourists during the service!
If you are not a Turk, you are served only after the Turks.
And, it doesn't matter that you are first in line!
The main advice is to book rooms in the main building. There, the repair is much better (although there are nuances in the form of a crack on the wall or tile, but everything works and is clean), and everything is very close (you don’t need to go down / climb the stairs a lot around the territory, because there is an elevator), each the day is cleaned (there are problems with this in the buildings on the territory of the Club category), there is always wi-fi (it is also available in the restaurant, near the pool and on the beach. In the Club rooms, they say it is not). The food is good, tasty, but without exclusive (from seafood only fish, from fruits - watermelon, apples, oranges). I want to mention the very good staff. They work like bees, very helpful and cultured.
The territory is large, green and very well maintained!
The sandy beach is small, so to take the sunbeds came at 8 am. There were those who occupied sun loungers and went to sleep / have breakfast. The hotel worker cleaned the things of such vacationers at 7:30-8:00 and it was easy to take good places for yourself. My husband and children went to breakfast while I took sunbeds and brought me breakfast to the beaches. The rest just changed and went to have breakfast in a restaurant (I didn't want to go back and forth : -)
In general, I can safely recommend!
If you can't speak English, then it will be difficult at the hotel to speak to the reception staff, but it is possible. The hotel has very few Russian-speaking staff.
Now about the type of rooms. The most budget room is the anex room. This type of room is located under the pool, it is always noisy and damp there. You can't see the sea from the window because of the trees on the territory. But these rooms are close to the main restaurant, the sea, and the main pool. The next in price category is the club room. Club room are separate two-three-storey cottages. To the main restaurant, you will have to walk along steep descents and ascents.
Hotel rooms are rooms located in the main building, close to the reception, the main restaurant, the main pool, and the relaxation pool.
There are three swimming pools on the territory, one of them with a water park consisting of five slides.
The food is the same every day. Grilled meat / fish, vegetables, cheeses, french fries, pasta. Ice cream happens from 15-17 and only two types.
Daily housekeeping.
From entertainment: billiards, table tennis, tennis court, disco in the evenings, animators did not see.
The hotel area is very large, clean and beautiful, as if there are photo zones everywhere, but there are a lot of descents and ascents, which will pump up your legs well.
The beach consists of piers, and a small part of it is a sandy entry into the sea. There are not enough sun loungers for everyone on the sandy beach, but you really want to enter the sea from the shore, and not jump from the pallet.
Travel by bus to the center of Bodrum 4 lira, by taxi 6 dollars.
About Compass. In terms of organization, everything is clear, documents are on time, departure, arrival without transfers. Of the minuses, we never met the hotel guide. 06/21/2021 at 11.30 we were supposed to meet with Malik, we waited for him for half an hour in the lobby, he did not come.
By number. The furniture has not been changed for a long time, as well as the air conditioner itself, which, as it seemed to us, has been hanging there since the opening date of the hotel. Cleaning is not done with high quality, be prepared that the staff is very weak or even does not know English at all (most of the staff). We tried for 12 hours to get the bed linen changed, until we waited for the Russian-speaking receptionist and she already explained in Turkish what we actually wanted.
Kitchen. The food itself is good, there is plenty to choose from, but as already mentioned above, you need to come early so as not to get into a kilometer-long queue. For us, there was a very huge minus, which crossed out the whole impression, this is a food infection that my child got there first, and then I did.
Animation. She is essentially non-existent. For children, no entertainment, except for the playground, the grass on which is watered in the evenings, so you can’t walk until dinner.
Swimming pool. Clean, the water is warm, there are children's pools, which is very convenient.
Read it will be helpful.
The hotel is definitely above average, but far from luxury.
The Internet works, starting from the room, and even on the beach.
The territory is very large, green, beautiful and well-groomed. But please, think a hundred times before you go with problematic health or small children, the hotel is located on a mountain, you will not have the strength to walk up the endless stairs. I checked it myself, it’s very hard, often I needed the help of my husband, I didn’t want any rest, even for free!
The beach, which has an entry from the shore, is small, in the high season it will be difficult to take sun loungers, even now it was a problem. The stone pier is long, but there is no bottom anywhere. A private bungalow so you don't have to hunt for sun loungers on the sandy beach costs $25 a day! This is ridiculous)
Rooms with side or direct sea view. Looks like a typical Egyptian. But not dilapidated, cozy, everything works, clean. Cleaning is excellent every day.
The food is definitely delicious, everything, especially Turkish sweets, grill, fish. The choice is far from limited to this, but at the same time, the lack of seafood, fruits and some frills.
The restaurant itself really looks like a restaurant. The closed glass part and open over the sea, the view is simply gorgeous. But all the impressions are spoiled by kilometer constant queues!
There is also a snack bar on the beach, a cafe overlooking the sea for drinks, cookies, ice cream, a 24-hour bar in the lobby. In the evening, there is a lounge party by the beach, but thanks to the antediluvian music, no one is dancing, and there is nothing to do in the evenings.
Drinks are good, local spirits and good coffee.
The pool is clean, large, beautiful, with palm trees and greenery.
Water park - for adults and children. But try to go to him on the way to the mountain.
There is also a spa at the price of 30 euros for a massage, the hammam is free, but without peeling and massage it is a waste of time.
The staff is great, a large number, responsible, a very good attitude towards guests, no matter who we turn to, they try to the smallest detail.
+ There was a surprise on my birthday.
The sea is very beautiful, clean, transparent, deep. There is no open sea view, the hotel is in a bay surrounded by mountains. There are no corals or fish.
I must say right away, if you are in love with Egypt, and have not been to Turkey, go to Egypt. Although we were in one of the most beautiful and elite areas, Bodrum, the former Greece, it is beautiful in its own way, but there is no that bewitching oriental atmosphere. For those who appreciate mountains, greenery, like the Crimea, Montenegro, this is an ideal place.
Mini Tips:
1) A shopping tour from a sweets guide is just awful, it's better to buy sweets at the hotel, even in it the prices are not so high. At the airport, the prices are also simply gigantic.
2) An excursion on a pirate yacht does not cost $ 45 per person, this is a scam, you will go around several completely identical bays, just with clear beautiful water. There is an alternative online for $25 per person. Bays are the same everywhere.
3) Free hammam at the hotel is nothing, take either a massage for 30 euros, or don't waste time just sitting there))
4) Although the sea is beautiful, clear, the water is cool at this time, there is no “tea” water like in Egypt, or go in season.
5) The staff speaks English and Turkish.
Conclusion: rest is ambiguous. Nature and service pleased me the most.
First time in October 2020 and this year returned in May.
Nature and territory are amazing, but the second time you will not be so delighted.
What I didn't like this year:
The rooms are very old, plus they will remove it if you just ask directly and poke your finger. By the end of the week, a layer of dust on the bedside tables was already noticeable even to my child.
Air conditioners are old, dusty and noisy.
You won't be able to sleep with it on.
We were ready for the old and not very clean rooms, but the QUEUES in the dining room infuriated me!
They are just huge!
Waiters can't cope with so many people. It can be seen that there are few of them and the same ones work both at the bar and at the distribution.
Some people really put food in rubber gloves with their hands)) as for me it’s not very pleasant.
You need to stand for 30 minutes, very tightly to each other, to fit in the dining room hall.
They took not what they liked, but from the principle where there are fewer people.
I have never seen this in all my trips, and the same in quarantine !!!
If you are late for the opening, then there will be no more desserts and other interesting food.
From fruits they gave pears, apples and oranges.
Drinks at the bar: don't waste your money on tips, you won't get a good cocktail anyway))
There is no animation at all, be prepared, they say because of the quarantine.
Last but not least, good Turkish coffee on the sand, good Wi-Fi, very beautiful panoramic views, crystal clear water in the sea and close location to Bodrum!! !
At the same time, the animation team and other staff come up for food out of turn. That is, in this hotel, the staff is a higher priority than the guests.
I have one question for the administration - what did I pay my money for? For some tactless waiter tossing a piece of chicken with his hand to me like a dog or a beggar? Well, do you at least have some least respect for your guests?
Also, the hotel, which positions itself as a family hotel, does not provide any milk porridge for children for breakfast!
Do you think that I should feed my child only eggs for breakfast for the entire vacation?
In conclusion of all this I want to say that apart from nature there is nothing else here.
And it's a shame that you have to stand in lines for the money you paid, like in a catering for the poor. It's humiliating and very annoying.
The food at the hotel is fresh and tasty.
The sea is azure and transparent, all the time you want to look at it and enjoy it.
Beaches: there is a pontoon entrance for a more secluded getaway, and there is a sandy beach with "shiny" sand.
If you are tired of the sea, you can relax near the pool and again admire and enjoy the sea from the side.
Very attentive and polite staff.
Delicious Turkish coffee at the Turk Cafe and no less delicious cocktails.
No flaws in relation to the hotel. HOTEL SUPER!!!
But there is one small BUT, this is the cost of excursions to the operator’s tour. For some reason, these prices are several times higher than the prices that can be bought at local agencies and this is unpleasant. (For example, a Pmukkale tour at a hotel is $75, and at an agency it is $35 per person, and the service is no worse.
Despite this small incident, we had a BEAUTIFUL vacation!! ! We will return to this hotel with great pleasure!
