For those who like to relax in cleanliness, silence and get to know Turkey. Part 5
So, we are in the village of Gelemysh, which, as if embarrassed, does not approach the great and ancient Patara. All buildings are one-story, with the exception of a few two-three-story hotels, modest, but worthy of wanting to return to them again. Our Jet Pansiyon is three-story, stands on a hill - both Gelemysh and Patara are visible, quiet, clean, there are six people in the hotel including us, although there are about twenty rooms. The hostess and her daughter provide comfort in the hotel, the owner manages to earn extra money as a taxi driver, speaks good English, German and a little worse in French, promised to learn Ukrainian, we promised to check. In short, as elsewhere, an unobtrusive family atmosphere - if you want tea or coffee, pour it yourself, drink it. If you want to have a bite - everything that is served. Do you need laundry or ironing - please, without any payment, at any time.
Prices in restaurants are the same as in Kiev fast food, the quality is excellent, but the main thing is hospitable and smiling people, and this is the main thing for relaxation.
The beach is located 2 km from Gelemysh, to say that it is big is to say nothing. Length 12 km, width up to 150 m, sand, cafe, shower, locker room, two hundred sunbeds, parking, entry fee - 30 liras per week. On the beach, there are minks of sand crabs everywhere, which from time to time jump out of them and immediately hide, boldly run on the sand in the evening. The depth is small up to 1 m at a distance of 60 m from the shore, so a high wave runs up, creating a beautiful surf. There was no wind. We met a young English couple, whom we met while walking along the lake. Keycegiz in Dalyan, they went off into the endless distance with backpacks. The beach was given an honorable third place.
Well, and most importantly, ancient Patara, where Nikolai Ugodnik (Wonderworker) was born, he is Father Frost, he is also Santa Claus, etc. The Turks are great - from year to year we see how they carefully and lovingly try to restore the monuments of ancient history - Bergama, Ephesus, Perge, Mir - everywhere. Patara is also trying to bring it closer to its original form. They lifted several branches of some tree from the ground - as a reminder, maybe many centuries ago, St. Nicholas himself touched the ancestors of this tree, and suddenly!
A good relaxing holiday, pleasant impressions and memories. We advise!
