Early rise, the bus for those wishing to fly promised to stop at 4 am. From the mirror I was amazed by a sleepless face (a bit like mine) with red inflamed eyes. Nuuuu, but today my long-held dream of flying in a hot air balloon will come true!
The bus arrived on time. We went to collect other "kites" in hotels. Arrived at the starting point. We are sitting. We are waiting for something. We waited.
A representative of the company approached, apologized and said that there would be no flight today, because meteorologists do not approve - the wind speed exceeds the norm. Take us to hotels. The dream did not come true (

I decide to take a walk around Goreme before breakfast, because yesterday with that heat the brain recorded only the presence of shadows in objects, bypassing everything else. Now + 11 °, in a few hours it will be + 31 °, it's time to enjoy the cold))
Historical background. It is not known when Goreme was first settled, but it is known that there was a settlement between 1800 and 1200 BC. For many centuries, this area was central to the wars between rival empires. Which eventually led the natives to rock settlements, and in the Roman era, Christians retreating from Rome to rock churches and monasteries.
I go up to the observation deck (the cashier is not asleep, three lire for the repair of the Failure collects clearly):
From here you can see the fortress in the neighboring town of Uç hisar, which is the highest place in Cappadocia. Uchisar means "three fortresses" and is a 60-meter cliff at an altitude of 1.400 meters above sea level. From afar, the mountain resembles a cheese-headed cheese.
And this is the first time I saw such an option for a photo shoot. Mom posed, circled, danced, and dad and sons directed and filmed everything with a quadcopter. Creative approach!

The eye of Fatima you will see everywhere. Both in a single copy and in hundreds of pieces on trees and houses. It is believed that this amulet protects from other people's bad thoughts and emotions, but it should be hung in a prominent place.

My personal discovery in Turkey was tea. I, an experienced coffee lover, drank tea with great pleasure and, without exaggeration, in liters, because it is not only delicious, it also quenches thirst.
While I was looking at the weather forecast tomorrow, which promised a sharp cold snap and heavy rains the next day (surprise! ), I realized that the plans needed to be adjusted. The museum will wait, we have to go to the valley, because who knows if it will be possible to get there in the rain.
Gü vercinlik Vadisi or Pigeon Valley starts in Goreme itself. Its total length is 4.095 km.
Here I suddenly have a personal guide. Meet Timko (of course, his name is my version). Without missing a single puddle, he first has fun hanging out in them, and then runs to shake all those on me - apparently, helps to freshen up))
Timko did not miss any opportunity to get into the frame, but worked out a photo shoot, indicating the direction of movement:
The road was in the shade, Timko's tail worked like a navigator, the heat was not felt yet - in fact, a person does not need much to feel complete and all-encompassing happiness.
In my opinion, the local rocks, no less than the Valley of Love, deserve the same name; )

While I was arranging photo shoots for the surrounding landscapes, Tymko wasted no time - he found shade and sniffed sweetly, taking advantage of the moment.

The road leads to the town of Uç hisar (this is its fortress we saw this morning from the observation deck). Here, attention, we do not go to Uchisar, we take the path on the left.

Only at the very top, it somehow slowly came to me that the valley in general is the one below, and I rushed to the very top. What problems do you think - take it and go down! Aha. The problem is that the tuff is very slippery and when you descend your foot just floats down without clinging to the ground.
I stand, I appreciate my own strength.
Oh, Timko, Timko, at least you barked at me so as not to climb where you shouldn't)) Well, on slippery winter slides there is only one method of descent - on your own hole. She sat down and swam, cushioning her legs. This is how my golden Cappadocian rule was born - go up only where you can go down.

Attentive reader, if he is not usually lost in the previous fornication, has long had a question - and why the valley is called Dove?
I answer. The name of the valley comes from the thousands of blue houses that have been carved in some tuff since ancient times (they were also called columbarium). Dovecotes were cut wherever space allowed, including abandoned cave houses and churches.
Local farmers claim that the reputation of Cappadocian fruit as the sweetest and juiciest in Turkey is entirely due to pigeon droppings, which are actively used to feed plants. Therefore, it is in this part of the valley that the largest number of pigeons is concentrated.
The extreme seems to be over, so let's move on.
Cows graze:
After the turn, it turned out that one of the cows decided to eat grass on our trail. Timko for some reason began to whine pitifully. Maybe he has "cow phobia"?
An attempt to persuade the cow to get out of our way was unsuccessful. Timko stepped back and hid in the bushes. I decided to walk around the stubborn animal on the path. Aha.
In response, the cow performed a complex somersault and hit me so hard on the torso that only a tree that grew so well along the trail could stop my free flight. Ooooooo, Turkish cows have a hell of a cool temper!
Timko flatly refused to get out of the bushes and go on. I go alone and miss my friend-guide (
