More and more questions about the various hotels in Turkey that appear on the TP, reminded me of two visits to the Antalya region in 2017-2018. The Turkish vacation that preceded these trips was so many years ago that it was scary to mention, but, in principle, then the landmarks visited. However, during the current vacation I wanted to get out of the hotel at least a few times and look at something. But since we are not fans of any entertainment such as a trip on a pirate ship, a foam disco on a yacht and fishing / rafting / jeep safari with a mandatory lunch, it remains to find something historical, architectural or natural and at the same time easily accessible .

This is how our trips were organized as a kind of "elementary" attractions, ie those that, in principle, everyone knows or at least heard, and which are easy to reach by public transport.

I plan to tell about their visit in the topic of the forum with the same name, so if anyone has a desire - please. : ) And not only to read, but I invite everyone to join and talk about their "elementary" trips during a beach holiday on the Anatolian coast.

I will tell you how we visited the ancient city of Phaselis , founded in the VII century. to the name BC, but still amazes us as its historical (aqueduct, theater, agora and baths),

and natural beauty in all three bays - North, Central and South.

Next we swung Antalya and its Old Town (Kaleichi). Here you can walk for an hour wandering from Adrian's Gate

to Hidirlik Tower

and Yivli Minaret,

on desert streets,

then going down to the sea,

It's climbing up and admiring the gorgeous views of the city, the port and the surrounding panorama.

As a dessert on this trip we had the Archaeological Museum of Antalya - the second largest museum in Turkey with a collection of about 30 thousand exhibits. And, of course, there is everything you need to have a decent museum - statues, sarcophagi, coins, mosaics, utensils, household items and more.

And part of the collection is even located in the yard. : )))

Another accessible but no less interesting attraction in the region is Side, another ancient city that flourished during Roman rule as a major seaport and trading center in World War II. Art. e. Of course, the younger Phaselis, but no less attractive.

And all the historical sites here are bigger - the amphitheater already has 20 thousand seats,

trade and state agoras are more capacious,

fortress walls are longer and more massive,

and located on the shores of the Temple of Apollo is considered perhaps the most significant attraction in Turkey.

There is also a museum, the peculiarity of which is its location in the former baths.

And locals add a patriarchal charm to the exterior of the collection. ; )))

And, of course, my personal discovery among the "elementary" monuments is Alanya

with its Fortress,

Located on a mountain with beautiful views

and where there are various ancient antiquities.

And if you add the colorful area of Tophane,

Watchtower Red Tower

and an ancient shipyard,

But traveling to this beautiful city will definitely not be boring or futile.

So, if you want to see something other than the hotel, the sea and the beach, there are plenty of places on the Antalya coast where you can get without much stress, for very little money and get a lot of positive emotions. : )))
