Turkey. Part 1.

Chapter 1. Preparing for the trip.

Once, in mid-September, when I was enjoying the velvet season on the Black Sea in the resort city of Gelendzhik, a friend named Ira called me. When she found out how I was doing, she suddenly suggested:

- Let's go and have a rest in Turkey?

Frankly, for a long time I wanted to start visiting abroad, but somehow it didn’t seem like a chance to just sit down and go. Without any long deliberation and changing their decisions a dozen times a day, as was usually the case with most of my acquaintances. And this fact bribed me!

Quite an interesting and unexpected proposal! So I'm just going to return home to Krasnodar the day after tomorrow, well, let's find out everything about the trip there, and I'll come and we'll talk!

A day later, I arrived home and, having finished my business, went to a meeting with Ira. She, as promised, was fully prepared to talk about Turkey.

- I found out everything!

The travel agency recommended taking either a good “four” (4-star hotel) or “five”, but the “troika” was categorically not recommended, otherwise there is every chance to spoil the impression of Turkey. Especially when you go for the first time!

Yes! "Troika" was, of course, an order of magnitude cheaper. But to rest, just to rest, but no matter how important, I do not like. I took out a laptop and we started looking on the Internet for descriptions and reviews of the hotels offered to us by the travel agency.

– This hotel is not bad, but very far from the airport...But this one is not on the first line, you need to get to the sea by bus...And here is a new one, but it is located in the very epicenter of construction projects...But this one is good, but there are only ours ...

Hotels, where most of the Russians have a rest, this is certainly good, but, to be honest, I want to look at foreigners abroad. And on the contrary, we want to take a break.

Especially having seen enough of the behavior of compatriots in the resorts of Chernoye during wild parties!

- Look at this hotel! Brand new, built in 2008 in Belek! The travel agency said that this is the most prestigious resort area in Turkey. A hotel for Europeans, a solid “five” (sometimes travel agencies sell “fours” as “fives”), beautiful in appearance. What about reviews? Not bad! And the distance from the airport in Antalya? Forty kilometers! Well, then, we take it? We take!

We did not read all the reviews, since the opinion of other people cannot be particularly trusted! It is usually not objective. The person did not like some trifle and that's it! The hotel, in his opinion, will pull one minus. The same applies to the choice of countries. If you don’t check it yourself, you won’t know the truth!

And thus, our choice fell on the hotel "Siam Elegance Hotel & Spa"!

The selection has been completed, the tour is booked! And preparations began for my first trip abroad!

The first step was to buy a suitcase. You can't go abroad with the old one, you need a new one! And then suddenly the Europeans in the hotel will laugh, they say, the poor Russian came to rest with a very old suitcase!

Having met after work with Ira, we went to the shopping center. After going through several stores with goods for travel, we could not find anything worthwhile - either the quality is disgusting, or the price is very high. I was already upset, but when I entered the last store, I saw a suitcase that we immediately liked! Italian "Alessandro Manzoni". It was blue in color, trimmed with plastic on top, and metal inside. And, of course, he looked very dignified! On top of that, with a relatively low price, there was also a decent discount, apparently at the end of the summer season. And, of course, the choice was made and the problem with the suitcase was solved.

After that, we went to the exchange office, where we exchanged rubles for American dollars, and went home to get ready. Less than a day left before departure!

Arriving home, the first thing I did was open the suitcase and began to examine it inside. Two mesh closures to keep things from falling out when you open one side. Several hangers and rubber fasteners! Class! And here is the code lock. Of course, you need to install your own code!

After reading the instructions, I set the lock to “000”, then turned the lever and set my combination of numbers. Then he closed the suitcase and mixed the wheels. Here it is closed. And now I'll open it! I dialed the new code I set and...the suitcase didn't open!

“I must have messed something up, ” I thought.

I set the initial code “000” - the same thing ...That's great! It's time to pack, Turkey is waiting, and I almost ruined a new suitcase! Hmm, maybe not all is lost?

After some thought, I turned to the “ubiquitous”, that is, the Internet! And it helped! In about fifteen minutes, I nevertheless opened the combination lock, having done some simple operations! And I wasn’t even upset at all that it could be hacked in this way, because this can’t be done in a crowded place. Such an operation with a suitcase will attract attention!

After sharing this news with Ira, I began to pack my things. Shirts, jeans, flip flops, a towel, swimming trunks, shorts, socks, a small camping iron that I managed to buy in Gelendzhik especially for trips. Soap and shower accessories, medicines...And also a small bag for the belt, a kind of first-aid kit, consisting of validol, nistrospray, bandage, headache and fever pills. And a bag of sugar. Yes, just in case. Passport, money, phone, camera, camera with you ...It seems that you have not forgotten anything!

The next day I rushed to the traffic police.

I needed to get an International Driving Permit. According to rumors, it is inexpensive to rent a car in Turkey. What if we want to? You need to be ready for anything!

I was given a paper book, the size of half an A4 sheet. It contained the necessary information in different languages. Of course, such a book is not very convenient, especially if you always carry it with you, so what can you do! By the way, as it turned out, my companion also had one, but she got an international driver's license earlier - just to have it!

Chapter 2. At the airport.

Exactly at 9 am, Ira drove up to my house in a taxi. She lives farther from the airport than I do, so they picked her up first. Ten minutes later we were there. Grabbing our suitcases by the handles, we walked to the International Airlines building. Once inside, we immediately put our suitcases on the screening belt, after which we entered the hall, which was full of people.

Having found the “Pegas Touristik” counter (“Pegastic”, as we called it), we showed our passports and we were given two sheets with information about our tour. It was a ticket.

After that, we proceeded to the customs control hall, where our luggage once again passed through the check tape, after which, finally, we handed it over for loading onto the plane, receiving baggage receipts and boarding tickets in return, where one seat, of course, was by the window. But the checks didn't end there. Having stood in line at passport control, I finally received the first stamp in my life to leave Russia!

And the most tedious and unpleasant process at the airport began, namely, checking what we take with us on board. Two employees shouted at everyone, were rude and so on. That is, there was a normal communication between our people and ours!

There was no “tuxedo room” (smoking room) at our airport. Everyone smoked in the toilet even though it was forbidden.

But where to go? Check-in ends in an hour, plus another hour for all luggage cases and the queue.

However, our tourists were not particularly worried about these screaming aunts and other troubles! Many have already managed to go to Duty Free and drink cognac from plastic cups! And I, as a person who drinks little and rarely, limited myself to buying a bottle of wine and a block of real imported cigarettes there.

We sat in chairs in the waiting room near the windows. Behind them, passing maintenance vehicles and parked planes could be seen.

- I wonder how it is there, abroad, then? Still the first time. Are you worried?

“So do I, a little.

About fifteen minutes later, the exit doors opened and we were invited to board. A not very polite woman with a walkie-talkie urged all the tourists with almost kicks to get on the bus faster, as if we were all late, and she opened the doors on time!

The bus, proceeding to a nearby aircraft, stopped. The doors opened and we got out. I looked at the plane. The Orenea company (Orenburg Airlines, leased by Pegas Touristik), and the plane ...Boeing 737! Hooray!

The fact is that when ordering the tour, I immediately set the condition - the flight was only on a Boeing! It is possible and "Airbus", but "Boeing" is better.

We got on the plane and I immediately remembered my childhood, how I flew with my parents to other cities! Yes...I haven't flown on airplanes for a long time!

I won’t say that it was scary, on the contrary, it’s interesting to remember those feelings when you are pressed into a chair on takeoff! But, of course, there was also some excitement. After all the greetings from the crew of the aircraft, the aircraft taxied to the runway and stopped. I remember this moment well from my childhood! Now he will press him into a chair, and then we will fly ...After a few seconds, the turbines howled and we rushed forward, and soon the earth began to move away ...We were flying!

Fly to another country! And this wave of a surging feeling of the beginning of adventures just covered my head!

Experienced tourists say that if the clouds over the Black Sea are over, then foreign countries have begun! We've been flying for forty minutes. Outside the window, only the blue sky was visible and somewhere below the sea of the same color. Many passengers continued to pour cognac, and we looked either at the sky, or at the sea, or at the navigator, which, by the way, I took with me on board!

- Altitude 9500 meters, speed 950 kilometers per hour. The Turkish land will soon begin, - I informed Ira!

We strained a little, however, oncoming planes flying, in my opinion, quite close. But what to do? Those people have already rested and are flying back!

The Turkish mountain peaks were already covered in snow, which was a little surprising, but gave some flavor - after all, we are flying south of the Black Sea and there is already snow here, but we don’t have it yet! Is it already winter in Turkey?

Then the Mediterranean Sea appeared on the left, and the runway of Antalya Airport was waiting for us below! The plane landed, the passengers applauded loudly, laughing merrily! We are abroad!

Before the plane had time to stop, several cars for the delivery of luggage drove up to it, and airport employees ran up to unload this luggage. Here is the service! When we were just going down the ladder, the first car, full of things, was already heading to the airport building. After getting off the plane, we boarded a bus that was waiting for us, pleasant both inside and out, and went to passport control!

The airport inside was deserted, but in a minute it filled up with our tourists. Where to go, Ira and I did not know, so we followed everyone. There was already a queue at the ground control windows, but to our surprise, it moved very quickly. Literally a minute later I handed over my passport and 20 US dollars.

The employee looked at me, and I, in turn, a little embarrassed, said to him - "Hello"!

The Turk blossomed into a smile and, answering me - “Hello! Welcome to Turkey! ”, - he pasted a stamp in his passport about receiving payment from me for a month of stay in the country and a stamp with the date of arrival!

While I was waiting for Ira, I decided to take a closer look at our other tourists - none of them greeted the employees. Maybe that's why he was so happy about my greeting?

After passing through passport control, we went down to the first floor of the airport, where our suitcases were already spinning on the tape. However, I had no doubt that everything would be clear and fast! The doors opened and we stepped outside. Heat! High humidity and slightly different air compared to Krasnodar. And palm trees grow around ...beauty!

And where should we go now? Here we noticed a lot of racks nearby, where the names of various tour operators were written. Having found ours, we approached.

“On the wings of Pegasus towards the dream

! ' read the inscription on the counter. And I fully agreed with this slogan!

The employee looked at our vouchers and said - number 327. And she pointed with her hand to the parking lot, where there were about fifty buses.

Quickly finding our transport, we stopped near it. We were the first. The Turkish driver, having seen us, ran out of the bus, and, having greeted us, helped to load things into the luggage compartment. Within fifteen minutes, the rest of the Russian tourists began to catch up. Someone got on the bus himself, and someone was brought in after a successful feast on the plane with alcohol from Duty Free in honor of a trip to the resort!

When everyone sat down in their seats, a guide entered the bus, who, it turns out, accompanied and handed over the tourists to the hotel staff, and we drove off. True, almost hitting another bus, but this is in the order of things here. Nobody makes a tragedy here because of small scratches. Look out, say hello and move on!

The air conditioner started working and the guide began to get to know us, tell us general information about Turkey, make some riddles, ask about Russia, and so on.

We admired the landscapes from the window, the sea, road signs, and everything else that we saw. It was all new!

Along the way, we stopped at different hotels, bringing several tourists to each. When we entered a place in the Belek region called “Bogazkent”, there were four people left on the bus. And then I saw our hotel! It was exactly like the picture.

Externally, we liked the hotel immediately! Of course, we reviewed a bunch of photos before the trip, but still, seeing it live is completely different. After tipping the driver and guide $1 each, we got off the bus. A porter ran out to meet us with a luggage trolley, loaded the suitcases and took us inside. It was as beautiful in here as it was outside!

By the way, I specifically, back in Krasnodar, asked for a lot of small money at the exchange office, and I was not mistaken. Here they were simply necessary!

We approached the reception desk. Smiling employees showed us a certain girl, obviously not a local one. Apparently, she was engaged in the settlement of Russians. Looking at her, I immediately realized - ours! An extremely dissatisfied face, like, “Well, why did you come here? ".

But there was nothing to be done. In the end, the girl turned out to be exactly as I thought - she gave us a room key card with displeasure, casually tied ribbons with the name of the hotel on our hands and indicated the direction.

- Oh, she alone, definitely spoils the impression of the whole country! - I thought on such a global scale, after which we went into the room ...and all the discomfort immediately evaporated.

It was great on the inside!

Large and beautiful, with a huge bed that looked like a mat (the hotel we had was in Thai style) and a large balcony, which, however, overlooked the roof of the restaurant. It was impossible to change the room to another one with a more picturesque view, as the madam at the “reception” said that the hotel was full and there were no other rooms. But as it turned out later, the location was just right in terms of the Internet. “Wi-fi” was free here, but was distributed only in the lobby and restaurant. And, since our number was not far from the last one, the signal reached here too. And from the balcony you could easily use the Internet, which completely suited us.

After unpacking our things, we began to explore the room further. Drinking water, chips, various cookies, chocolates, cola and much more were found in the refrigerator. It was all free and the bar, as it turned out later, was replenished once a day. Then we went into the bathroom.

Everything here was just as beautiful as everywhere else, but there was also something that I had never seen anywhere else - a decent-sized window opened out of the bathroom into the room, which was curtained with a curtain, which, if desired, moved back.

“Interesting, why is it here? ” Watch what's going on in the room while you bathe?

- No, - Ira answered romantically, - This is so that one swims, and the second looks at him from the room ...

- Oh my God! And they won’t let you swim calmly! I chuckled, and we went looking for food! By this time we were already very hungry!

It was four in the afternoon. Lunch is already over and dinner hasn't started yet. The rather large restaurant was closed and we went to the pool. There was a cafe here. Hmm, interesting, and how can you buy food here? One European speech is heard around. Unusual, but interesting! And then a Turk came up to us, offered to sit down and brought an ashtray.

- Can I have a menu?

I asked in Russian to begin with.

The waiter smiled and pointed to the place where the vats stood, apparently with food.

- Free! Vis is lunch! he said and smiled even wider.

Understandably! So this is an afternoon snack included in our “UAI” (“Ultra All Inclusive” - all inclusive, full board plus second breakfast, afternoon tea and so on, including drinks, including unlimited local and foreign alcoholic drinks).

We took a plate, putting a little bit of everything there. Liked the food. The local free wine was also quite good!

After a meal and a smoke break, we went to inspect the beach. By the way, the territory of the hotel was small, but it was enough. Here everything was thought out to the smallest detail!

We also liked the beach. Clear sea, smooth sand, the same sun loungers in the form of huts with an ashtray for everyone, trash cans everywhere - you can take food and drinks right here, and then put the dishes in special baskets ...beauty!

So, after getting used to it a little, we returned to the room and began to read information about the proposed excursions and the schedule of hotel events, including meals.

from 7 to 10 am - the first breakfast.

from 10 to 12 days - breakfast for those who are late (just for me, a lover of sleep).

from 13 to 15 - lunch.

from 15 to 17 - lunch by the pool.

from 18 to 20 - dinner.

from 20 to 22 - dinner for latecomers.

from 12 midnight to morning - free snacks and sandwiches in the lobby bar...

We were just amazed! Blimey! Seven meals a day! And, probably, everything is very tasty! By the way, it's already half past six in the evening, it's time to get acquainted with the restaurant! And we went to dinner.

Frankly, I did not expect anything else! A huge selection of the most diverse, and most importantly, delicious dishes, cola, fanta, white and red wine in unlimited quantities! Probably thirty different kinds of cakes and pastries, and, of course, different fruits!

And there are only Europeans around. German, Italian, French speech is heard from behind the tables.

By the way, Europeans, it turns out, do not scold their children at all. They run and crawl all over the restaurant, preventing the waiters from taking dirty dishes from the tables, and the parents do not even react to this. In general, they are quite friendly. They greet their neighbors on the table, smile. Eh, and Ira and I do not know any language other than Russian, and slightly English. For example, it was not very convenient for me when one German woman, after I handed her a large spoon for a set of food, blossomed into a smile and said - “Danke”, - and I did not know how to say “please” in German and answered only - "Uh-huh"!

And who is there running to the barrel of wine for the twentieth time during dinner? And who took so much food that he left half, which attracted the stern look of foreigners sitting at the next table? Well, of course! This is our compatriot! Yes, there are Russians here too! Well, let's leave them for later!

By the way, we must remember for the future - take as much food as you can eat! If so, you can go again. And then the buffet, it is so tempting and deceptive. You will type, being hungry, a lot of things on a plate, and then half will remain. Somehow bad!

After a Turkish dinner, we returned to the room, slightly ventilated the room, then slightly cooled it with a split system that worked only with the window and balcony door closed, and fell asleep after a hard day! This was our first night abroad!

The first night went pretty well. Why almost? The fact is that our air conditioner, which I turned off before going to bed, turned on itself in the middle of the night, and even twice. Moreover, it turned on very strangely - it did not blow cold air, but its damper constantly turned 360 degrees and made a strong creak. It even seemed to Ira awake that the air conditioner was about to slide down the wall and devour us!

Returning to the room after breakfast, we very conveniently found a young Turkish maid in it, who was washing the carpet with a washing vacuum cleaner, which left a pleasant smell of expensive French perfume in the room. Of course, we immediately shared with her the problem related to the air conditioner, and five minutes later a fitter with a suitcase appeared on the threshold of the room, who asked us with signs what was the problem with our nightly alarm clock.

I didn’t know how to inform the fitter that the switched off split turns on at night and for some reason turns the damper, and decided to voice the problem like this - “You sleep, and he - UUUUUUUUUU”. And pointed to the air conditioner.

About five minutes later, after everyone had finished crying with laughter, the master climbed to look for a breakdown and nevertheless found it, since this did not happen again.

By the way, the Turkish woman, apparently, was so impressed by my story that she forgot in our room a universal key card for all rooms, which we safely returned to her. True, they looked for her for about forty minutes all over the hotel, but they did not want to give the card to the “reception”. Well, so that the maid is not scolded.

Having solved the problem with the air conditioner and with the maid's key, we went to the beach! As I already said, the sea was clean, the beach was well-groomed, and, by the way, the water in the Mediterranean Sea was more salty than in the Black Sea. Accordingly, in the end, our tan was different from the Black Sea one.

At the very end of the beach there was a tent where various marine entertainments were rented out: catamarans, jet skis and parasailing behind a boat. Of course, first of all we became interested in flying over the sea. Of course, our coast was full of this goodness, but I have never used such types of services on purpose.

Like, I’ll go abroad, I’ll try everything there! . But, unfortunately, nothing came of the parachute. Available lifted into the air only one, and we wanted the two of us. And this was possible, according to the workers of the tent, only two days later, when the second parachute was delivered to them.

No problem! Let's take jet skis then! The rental price, by the way, was, well, I won’t say that it was high, but not small either. I learned the reason for this a little later. But still, we took two jet skis after a little haggling. By the way, the guys here were Turks, but not very friendly. The thing is, it wasn't the hotel staff. They were hired workers of some businessman who had all these beach "entertainments" for tourists, and they worked under a contract on the beach. In other matters, it was possible to complain about them to the hotel, in which case, it was possible, so they behaved normally.

But somehow they were slightly dissatisfied with everything, which, by the way, discouraged the desire to approach them at all. But there was one and a cheerful worker. He was plump, always smiling, and had African braids on his head. Therefore, we called him that - “Pigtail! ". With him, by the way, we had a successful bargain and drove on two jet skis across the sea for twenty minutes.

After finishing our skiing, we found out that, it turns out, a beach photographer had been photographing us all this time. He told us in plain sign language that the photos could be picked up after 18:00 in the hotel lobby, where we went before dinner.

Entering the photographer's office room, we saw a lot of already printed pictures on the wall, including ours.

“And how much do we owe for the photographs? ” How much? I asked.

The answer confused me a little - “Five dollars van photo, or feti dollars all photo in yo flash card” (5 dollars one photo printed or 30 dollars all photos on our flash card).

I looked at Ira, who showed signs - “what the hell is needed”, in which I agreed with her. In general, I am not a greedy person, and during the holidays I am against saving on entertainment, but it's expensive! We have our own camera, tomorrow we will “take pictures” ourselves! Moreover, we did not know that we were being photographed at all, and the photographs were, in our opinion, not very successful. And with these thoughts, we went to dinner. And after it, the well-fed and lazy began to choose the excursions offered by the tour operator, as well as the hotel services, of which we were most interested in spa treatments, namely massage: Iru is a foamy hammam, and I am Thai. What it is, I really didn’t know yet, but I decided that it’s definitely worth a try!

Lying after a hearty meal and listening to soothing music, for a few minutes I imagined myself as the king of Thailand! Here, now two or three small thin taechki will enter the room and begin to gently massage me from all sides ...Well, I dreamed and that's enough! The door of the room opened and a really short, but weighing under 120 kilograms, strong Thai woman entered, who, folding her hands together with a clap and the sound of “Hu”, greeted me! I did about the same, only, out of surprise, instead of “Hu”, I said “Wuhu”, and the process started!

The massage began gently from the tips of the toes, gradually rising up...

- I hope she won’t crawl under her swimming trunks? So, what if it happens? Then, perhaps, I will tell her - “Rousseau is a tourist image of morality! “...Phew! After the legs, the stomach immediately began! Swimming she passed!

Then I turned over and this operation with my body was performed on the reverse side.

On this, the first part of the massage was completed and the second began. With all her weight, Taika began to walk and crawl with her knees on my back ...Despite her decent weight, it didn’t hurt me, but one circumstance was still embarrassing. I “pinned”, you can’t say otherwise, for a massage after the Turkish buffet and now I’m lying on my stomach, and she’s standing on top! And where does the food go? Then a Thai woman who knew only two words in Russian asked me a question - “Does it hurt? ! ".

“Nooott, ” I answered, or rather, I barely said, “But the food will now climb! ”

I think that she understood only the word “no”, because she continued, but fortunately not for long - the second part of the massage soon ended. And the third was generally unusual - stretch marks. Taika stretched me in different directions! For example: left foot to the left, right hand to the right, sometimes resting on me with their feet. This stage of the massage was like wrestling on a mat with a sumo wrestler!

She rolled me on this big bed as she wanted! The massage only lasted about an hour. After that, the Thai woman said goodbye and left, and by the way, feeling great, I went to the sauna, where Ira joined me shortly after the hammam. Both of us were satisfied with the procedures and after the rest we went to meet the guide to choose the excursions offered by the operator!

“Janish” – that was the name of our guide from the travel agency, was a local, but despite this, he spoke excellent Russian. He gave each of us a sheet with a list of all the excursions and we started browsing. By the way, we immediately agreed not to even think about taking excursions on the street. It’s cheaper, yes, but I don’t think that saving a couple of tens of dollars is worth it if the tour operator has these excursions. If they don't, then it's a different matter.

What is offered to us at the hotel? We will see!

Twenty minutes later, the coveted phone call rang out, after which the guide told us that there was an additional plane! Hooray!

He signed us up with a discount. Then he left us his phone number and asked for a favor. His friend, who was resting in a nearby hotel, was leaving soon and he wanted to give him a farewell present - a real Tequila Olmeca Gold. And it was sold only in Duty Free (I mean, real). And the guide asked us for such a small favor as buying a bottle. We, of course, gladly agreed to help him, and, saying goodbye, went to the room. We flew to Israel the day after tomorrow early in the morning. Tonight we had a free evening. Perhaps it's time to visit the famous Turkish bazaar?

Chapter 9. Bogazkent Bazaar.

After dinner we went outside. The bazaar was literally 50-70 meters from our hotel.

Approaching, we saw from afar the smiling faces of merchants who were already preparing to call us! Well, let's get started! After the invitation, we went to the nearest shop from the road.

- Hello! How are you? Where are you from? - the seller asked in a mixture of Turkish and English.

Having exchanged a couple of phrases, we began to examine the goods that were available in this shop. All kinds of oriental sweets, souvenirs, teas, hookahs, tobacco and much more. While considering, the seller came running with a hot kettle.

– Tea, coffee, cigarette? - he asked.

- Wow, how cool, why are we not like that? I thought and chose coffee.

After “drinking coffee” and smoking, we finally started shopping. We took a little bit of different sweets, tea, and a small hookah in a suitcase, very, by the way, convenient for hiking. As well as fruit tobacco to him, foil and carbon. Then another pleasant surprise awaited us - we paid only for two-thirds of the goods.

And one third was a “present” for us, as the seller told us. But, by the way, speaking, it was not decided by him, as I understand it. Another man was sitting in the far corner of the shop, and periodically spoke something in Turkish to the first. It was definitely the owner. Usually they do not participate in the process of buying and selling if there is a seller.

Well, okay, what does it mean for us to be friends with this seller! After leaving satisfied with our hands full of purchases, we took the whole thing to the hotel, and then returned again to go around other shops. In the rest, including the clothing ones that were of interest to us now, they also offered tea, coffee, a cigarette, some kind of sweetness, and so on! And when viewing the goods, we all the time heard the same phrase - “Size but problems! ". That is - “We will find all sizes! ".

This evening we bought a lot of different clothes, such as T-shirts, t-shirts, shoes. Both for yourself and as a gift to relatives. Of course, with each purchase, we first bargained.

Not to bargain at all in such countries, I mean in the market in private shops, is considered bad form. The exceptions are goods, the price of which is quite low, or it is standard, which is immediately reported by the seller. Although, you should not overdo it with bargaining and become impudent either - everything is good in moderation!

The price of things was pleasant, given their good quality, but all the same, we knew very well that the system of resort prices is in operation here, that is, they are an order of magnitude higher. But that's not our problem anymore. There are two fools in the bazaar, as they say! One sells and the other buys!

In about an hour we had a complete picture of this small market and visited almost all the shops. Of course, we did not intend to buy much of what was sold here, but the Turks, like the Arabs, are very pleased if the tourist responds to the invitation and just looks at what goods they sell.

I have never seen the imposition of goods and running around with him after a tourist here, which, by the way, was pleasing! But there was another interesting point here. Almost all prices in this place, as in the hotel, were in euros. Because there were a lot of Europeans here. But sometimes we could pay in dollars, since Russians do not take euros with them abroad, well, except for trips to Europe, of course. And it turned out that we get goods and services cheaper than Europeans. There were, of course, places where, for example, 5 euros, they asked us for 6-7 dollars, but not everywhere.

Heh, that's why the shop assistants always ask us where we're from!

Already returning from the market towards the hotel, we saw a man who tried to tell us something and showed signs that he was inviting us to sit down. We looked up from window shopping and noticed that we were standing right in the middle of the cafe. Exactly!

You take it out - there is no light, but there is something to open the door! Well, we forgot this card. What to do? Let's go to the "reception", they will help!

Not all Turks know Russian and English at least a little. For about fifteen minutes we explained to the smiling administrator on duty what had happened to us. They even drew on paper a little man who cannot get into the room, breaks in there and cries! Oh, he doesn't understand! And then I remembered. I always have a little Russian-Turkish phrase book with me! I'll find now! Found. Page number five is at the hotel. And the very first phrase on this page is ours! This seems to happen to tourists a lot.

“Anakhtarymy odamda unuttum, ” I said.
