Lived in Gold Island as a family with small children 5 and 2 years old. Everything would be fine if we didn’t encounter the fact that BED bugs were not found in the children’s bed (folding playpen). The situation was aggravated by the fact that we had never encountered such a problem and did not understand it. At first they thought that mosquitoes had bitten the little one, since they were also in the room. We turned to the reception with a question that they would advise something from mosquitoes, they in response advised me to contact the pharmacy, which we did, bought a mosquito spray and an electric fumigator in a socket. The mosquitoes disappeared, but nothing changed in terms of bites, there were so many of them that it was impossible to understand whether there were new ones.
On the 4th day, some kind of rash appeared behind the knees, similar to an allergy, and the child smelled it to the point of blood. We turned to the pharmacy, they said that most likely through mosquito bites, the child smelled a wound for herself and dermatitis began with an allergic reaction. They prescribed ointments and anti-allergic for several days, if it doesn’t go away, then stronger ones will be prescribed. On the 6th day, the child was heavily covered with a rash, they again went to the doctor, as everything looked like chickenpox, they examined it, it was not chickenpox, they prescribed an ointment with antibiotics. And only on the 8th day, while scouring Google (thanks to Google), looking at photos with similar wounds, we stumbled upon bedbug bites, and everything became clear !!!
The response from the hotel was amazing. The manager Ibrahim, a cunning hypocrite and a liar, even after together with the receptionist and the maid (of course not Russian speakers) examined the bed with traces of bedbugs, quickly removed it and changed it to a new one, said that there was nothing there, they had no bedbugs and that it's not their problem that the child was hurt. In a sharp form, he suggested to himself to call a doctor or turn to a tour operator, ATTENTION, since the hotel is not to blame for anything !!! ! And of course, as it turned out after contacting the tour operator, Ibrahim clearly knew that insect bites (including bedbugs) do not fall under the insured event, it is difficult to prove them, since you have to take tests in the hospital and spend several days on it.

Of course, after understanding the situation, we finally “exhaled”. The next day, the child felt much better, and at least 4 days it turned out to be somehow like a rest.
Of course, it is worth noting the pluses of the hotel, although the situation that the bugs “ate” the child for 8 days will not change the overall score and our opinion. Still, from the pros: a very good kids club and animator Karolina, who sincerely loves children and her work, cool, professional bartenders, a bitten kitchen, well done chefs, someone is always on the hall and monitors the distribution. Also good wind-sheltered beaches and hotel infrastructure.
In general, it is contrasting and strange that, on the one hand, all the staff are trying to make tourists like everything, and on the other hand, such an indifferent and unprofessional work of hotel managers, in particular Ibrahim. I sincerely hope that the owner will get involved in solving the problem with bedbugs in time and will not let the hotel with such potential and at the moment a high rating be polluted.
We, unfortunately, do not set foot here, and we do not recommend it to anyone with small children, but for those who have already taken a tour to Gold Island, carefully check your beds, and especially children's folding beds.
