I must say right away that we are resting in Turkey for the first time, so there is nothing special to compare with.
The name of the hotel is read as GUNESH (translated from Turkish - the sun, hence the suntime).
We arrived early in the morning, at 7. It’s really far to go to Alanya, so we arrived there at about 10. We settled in immediately, gave the key to the room on the sixth floor. Decided to go take a look so you can change if that. The spiral staircase is impressive: by the time I got to the last, sixth, floor, my head was spinning. It turns out that there is a metal roof above the room, which heats up wildly, so it’s not sugar to live in the rooms on the top floor (we already learned this later). We asked for a lower room, and received the coveted key to the room on the third floor.
The room is the most simple, no frills. A pair of single beds, a couple of bedside tables, a wardrobe, a tiny 14-inch TV set with one single Russian channel, "First International for Hotels". The shower is also small and not the most comfortable, the water does not go away (you need to pull out something like a plastic filter, otherwise there will be a flood). The water is hot all the time, if it is sunny and hot outside, the water is boiling (water is heated by solar panels, they are studded on each roof). In the bathroom, only hand gel in the dispenser above the washbasin and toilet paper : )
The first shock was the complete absence of a refrigerator or minibar in the room... It doesn’t fit into any gates)) But the air conditioner is not bad, although the unit hangs right on a small balcony, and it’s unrealistic to be on the balcony while the air conditioner is running.
I will make a reservation that there are few Russians in the hotel. Lots of Polish. Although, when we were leaving, the Russians rolled in...
The room was cleaned daily, but it is not always clear whether there was a cleaning or not. We noticed that there was a cleaning lady just by the lack of a tip left. Changed 1 bed on the 4th day of stay. The staff at the hotel neither boom-boom nor in Russian nor in English. The only Russian-speaking employee is the permanent woman Shura mentioned in every review, a plump Armenian who runs a hammam in the hotel's basement. I must admit, quite intrusive on the first day of stay. Hamam costs $30 (15 is the light version).
It is more logical and cheaper to buy all excursions not from a guide, but 20 meters from the hotel on the corner of the avenue (near the MIGROS supermarket), where they are actually 2 times cheaper.
Meals take place in a neighboring building (the so-called building for the Germans). The food is good, but rather monotonous. Vegetables all the time, watermelons daily. On the third day of my stay, I (and not only) got wildly poisoned by meat, and spent a day bending over the toilet, and another day on it. Poisoning is obviously a fairly common thing for a hotel, so no one was surprised by the news that several people were injured.
The hotel beach is terrible. Not only does a sun lounger cost 3 bucks a day, but there is only one name from the beach: garbage is not removed, the entrance to the sea is full of boulders, under the water there are mountains of large cobblestones, on which you can break your legs. The hotel has a small pool, around it there are about 10 sun loungers (for a hundred hotel guests), but they are free, but you need to borrow early in the morning, otherwise someone will throw a towel in front of you. Near the pool and vending machines with juices and tea, a barrel of wine and a water cooler (you can take a bottle to your room, if that).
All these inconveniences seem like a trifle when you go out onto the streets of beautiful Alanya! 15 minutes at a leisurely pace the city center, another 15 minutes and you get to the gorgeous Cleopatra beach (which Alanya is so valuable), the beach is really luxurious, clean and comfortable. Strongly recommend it!
Go to the market in the center, there are good prices. There is simply everything from fruits! Anything that comes into your head, any exotic. There are also many souvenir shops there. Contrary to all opinions, the Turks are very offended when you bring down prices, they become unfriendly and frostbitten. But it is not necessary to demand anything else from them.
Change dollars in the city center, there are a lot of exchangers with pleasant and sane rates. Everywhere it is easier to pay with the Turkish lira.
