Good evening! I will briefly share my impressions about the rest at the Palmyra beach hotel. In Tunisia, I rest for the second time and have something to compare. Rested family (wife, daughter 1 year 8 months and mother-in-law).
1. Settlement.
We arrived at the hotel at about 7 am.
First of all, we filled out migration cards, I advise you to familiarize yourself with the procedure for filling them out in advance in order to save your time and nerves. After filling in and registration, they put on bracelets and invited us to breakfast.
I noticed that the hotel does not have a guest room, just to change clothes normally and deposit luggage, at first they sent me to the toilet to change clothes, but after our request they allocated a place in the aisle behind the reception desk. We settled at 11 o'clock, the staff at the reception is more or less friendly and adequate.
2. Nutrition.

The first annoyance was the large number of flies and the lack of measures to combat them from the hotel. Flies sit on food, crawl on the table and the body, there was no escape from them. In all likelihood, it is the norm for them to share a meal in the company of annoying and fearless flies. The daughter could not eat calmly, constantly brushing them off. On the 10th day, I got poisoned by something, but I didn’t understand what, I saved myself with activated charcoal and enterosgel, the next day it was already much better. Dirty tables and chairs, greasy tablecloths, more like some budget canteen, but not like a restaurant. Very meager and monotonous children's menu, which was for lunch and dinner: boiled carrots, potatoes and pasta, and one thing for a side dish (fish in breadcrumbs, sausages, turkey). If you come to the end of the dinner, then you can leave the child hungry, since the trays are empty by this time, and no one replenishes them. There are only 3 highchairs for children, and only one of them seems to be in good order, all the highchairs are dirty, greasy and “barely breathe”. The water in the coolers has a salty taste, it is simply disgusting to drink it. The same applies to juices like "yupi". In general, coffee machines do not work for half a day, sometimes they are broken, sometimes they need to be refueled, sometimes there are no dishes, the water also leaves much to be desired. I noticed that during the rest, the children's tables and chairs were never clean, they were not even wiped, so crumbs would be swept away and that's it, take as many antibacterial wipes as possible with you if you travel with children. There were queues for food, but not constantly, depending on the arrival of vacationers, mainly at the beginning of the opening of the "canteen", they tried to come later - the queues are already smaller. We observed another interesting fact - you bring a plate of food to the table, you leave for something else, you come, and the plate is removed - apparently this is how they do it, if there is no one, then you can remove everything, it would be better to keep it clean like that. 30 minutes before closing, they begin to slowly clean everything up, there were cases when people came closer to closing, and there was nothing much to eat, so do not delay, otherwise you will remain hungry. The food, of course, was delicious and very varied, you can not argue here. Every day for dinner they gave delicious ice cream, we also liked sweets, a couple of times they gave fried shrimp, tuna, lamb. There was no late breakfast in the lobby bar as such, at 11 o'clock they took out some pastries from breakfast, dishes, turned on the machine and that's it. Before lunch, it was all eaten and no longer heard, although it is prescribed that it works from 10.00-23.00 hours. There you could just drink tea or, if you were lucky, coffee. We really liked the afternoon snack and the staff who baked pancakes and pizza, they are very friendly and cook deliciously, however, I work only 1.5 hours.
3. Beach.
The beach is of course super, white sand, like flour, but dirty, there is a lot of household garbage in the sand, which you constantly stumble upon. I would say that children play in the sand is not entirely hygienic. Before that, I was in another hotel, also in the top three, and every evening they collected garbage there and “filtered” the sand with a special rake. Of course, there is none here, because the staff themselves throw cigarette butts and garbage into the sand, not having time to carry it to the basket. Sun loungers were often not enough, but we got used to it - we borrowed early. There were also broken beds.
4. Animation.

Animation of course peculiar, but in general not bad. It can be seen that the guys are trying, but again, not for everyone, I think the whole thing is at a young age. They entertain mostly single young girls and women, or those who stick to them and just like them. The guys stupidly automatically perform the learned movements and the perfected program of the day. From 10.00 in the morning the guys begin to entertain the people, these are gymnastics, water aerobics, small dances and various games. We went to the evening program a couple of times and didn’t go anymore - we couldn’t sit through to the end, that’s honestly boring. Children's animation during the day is rather weak, we can say that it simply does not exist. Rarely working children's club, it was not clear how it still works, how you can't pass by everything is closed, there is nothing for children on the beach and by the pool. A couple of times in the morning (in rainy weather) it was even open, the animator girl just sits and is bored, poor thing, she is sad, she doesn’t even take care of the children, they play with their parents in old and dirty toys. The playground is also not very good, broken, dirty children's chairs, a rusty creaky iron rocker, and one seems to have broken down and is now bolted on. In the evening, children are gathered for a mini-disco and dancing with them, this is the only plus of children's animation.
5. Alcohol and bar.
Strong drinks are poured only in the main bar, only beer by the pool, and beer and wine by the beach. We didn't like the small disposable plastic cups that you put alcohol in when you're not drinking at the bar. Strong alcohol is diluted, especially brazenly this is done by the not pleasant bartender Rafik. All bartenders dilute alcohol differently. The beer is good, the wine, to be honest, did not like it. I liked the service of the bartenders on the beach. The main bar also makes cocktails, but very weak ones, we just took extra strong drinks and diluted them.
6. Cleaning.
They clean up for a “C grade”, and when you leave a dinar, they clean up worse than if you don’t leave money, you never know, it’s not clear. The floor was apparently just wiped, because when it dries, you can feel the sand on your feet. There was dust in the corners and under the bed. Bed linen was changed once, a day after arrival and EVERYTHING! The sink was constantly clogged and there was a sewer smell. The cleaning lady kept forgetting to change towels, had to be reminded.
7. The territory of the hotel.

The territory of the hotel is small, not for a walk, but well-groomed and comfortable. You can play table and tennis, swim in a small pool, smoke hookah and drink Tunisian tea. In the evening, there is nothing to do in the hotel and beyond, and besides, it is dirty there. Discos are only twice a week, the evening program, as already mentioned, is boring and lasts until 23.00 hours maximum. On wi-fi, you can’t really count on it to catch in the room, and even more so on the beach. Although everything is relative, we lived in room 016, there was a router nearby, and the Internet almost did not work in the room, but for friends on the second floor, it worked perfectly. There is an Internet (weak) only at the reception or in the corridor near the router. Smoking is almost everywhere, of course there were good people who smoked aside, but most don't care, even during meals. Excursions can only be purchased from hotel guides, I must say right away that they are not cheap.
8. Bottom line.
For the level of the triple, the hotel as a whole corresponds. I went here, according to the reviews in the VK group, but as it turned out, they are very exaggerated and do not correspond to reality, so in no case be guided by this group. Of the pluses, I would single out a gorgeous sea, white sand, sun and delicious food. In general, the rest was a success, we got what we came for - the sun and the sea.
