To begin with, this is not my first time in Tunisia! This was my 7th trip to Tunisia, I always choose hotels according to 4 main criteria: location, infrastructure, food and price. Of course, there are favorite hotels, but they are not always affordable. ((((
I stayed at African Queen for the first time. The territory is small, but it is all surrounded by greenery (the advertising photo of the hotel was apparently taken 5 years ago, so there is practically no greenery on it), the territory is clean, cleaned every day. Very cozy and beautiful. Pools: 1 - indoor, 2 - open (for children, very small and large), the water is clean and clear. Around umbrellas, sunbeds with mattresses and without - all for free. Allowed to take towels from the room and to the pool and the beach. The beach is of medium cleanliness, it takes 5-10 minutes to walk to it, the bar on the beach is very decent - you can eat and drink. From the range they offer: cola, fanta, sprite type, local water, beer, different sandwiches, salads and more serious food - fish or grilled meat, etc. In general, everything is very decent. The hotel itself is medium in size with 530-540 rooms. The rooms are all almost the same, with wicker furniture (as in the photo in the hotel advertisement) and a telephone. In my room there was a large TV (albeit without a remote control) and a mini-fridge that worked very well (I know from other tourists that not everyone had it) Balconies in all rooms, but with different views - to the pool, to the beach, to the city and to the patio. The air conditioner was central, it worked well, they didn’t turn it off even at night, although in the mornings from 8 to 11, it just drove the air, and did not cool it, but it didn’t bother me much because just at that time it left from the room for breakfast, then to the beach, and when I returned to the room by 13-14 o'clock, I was already met by blessed coolness - the air conditioner worked perfectly! Not all rooms have a hairdryer - mine did not have it. Cleaning was done every day ( not perfect of course, but normal), towels and sheets changed every other day, everything is perfectly clean. Soap and shampoo were at the time of arrival in the room, but their stocks were not replenished, maybe because I arrived only for a week.....
The food at the hotel is a buffet. Breakfast is always the same set of dishes: butter, 3-4 types of jam, boiled eggs (sometimes with a surprise - you break it, and it is soft-boiled : -))), scrambled eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, chopped onions (all in separate plates) and next to it in a plate mayonnaise or olive oil, stewed tomatoes, boiled sausage, rice milk porridge, pasta and pastries - croissants and burgers (sometimes yesterday). The cook makes pancakes with you, stuffed with jam or chocolate - delicious. Juice 2 types, milk and coffee (from the Nescafe machine or custard) with or without milk, you choose. Fruits: melon and watermelon.

Lunch and dinner - a large selection of dishes (but monotonous), a lot of meat, 2 types of fish, side dishes - couscous, pasta, rice and potatoes, a lot of fresh pastries for lunch, and for dinner they offer (instead of pastries) cakes, custard 2- x types and ice cream 2-3 types.
Dishes and cutlery are always perfectly clean.
Of the minuses: the waiters often forget that you asked to bring a drink, the tables are not always cleaned, there are not enough salt shakers on the tables and you are looking for them all over the hall. Fried meat is sometimes overdried and cannot be chewed.
Animation: The guys try, they work by the pool, and every evening at the disco, but.............. mainly designed for children, adults are bored. BINGO lottery is held once a week - a ticket costs 5 dinars (1 dollar - 1.59 dinars), the prize is a T-shirt or a small, terry towel. It is interesting to play only for those who are fluent in German, Arabic or French - the numbers that have fallen out are voiced only in these languages.
In general, the staff is very friendly and responsive - I asked for some kind of remedy to remove stains on white trousers, they rushed to look, they immediately brought everything they could find - 2-3 types of liquids. Washed off!! ))))) They didn’t take the money, although they offered it.
The security at the hotel works around the clock, they react quickly, especially if one of our compatriots went through a free drink in the bar and starts to rage - they picked it up by the arms, led it to the toilet, washed it with cold water and politely escorted it to the room! ))))
Taxi stands under the hotel around the clock (3-4 cars). Cost: to Yasmine Hammamet - 4-6 dinars, to Hammamet - 4-5 dinars.
There are plenty of hotels, restaurants and bars around, so in the evening you can choose entertainment for every taste.
The overall impression of the hotel is good.
The location is a bit far from both the central part of Hammamet and Yasmine Hammamet, located on the 2nd line from the sea - you need to stomp to the beach, and in the heat of 42 degrees (in the shade) this is not particularly encouraging.

The infrastructure is normal, the shops in the hotel lobby with normal prices, even some goods are lower in price than in the shops of the city or in the bazaar. Across the road from the hotel there are 5-6 more shops (details and food). The hotel offers spa treatments (for a fee). There is free wireless Internet in the hotel lobby (there is no paid Internet cafe declared in the advertisement).
Food - normal, but it would certainly be possible to diversify the menu a bit (especially for breakfast).
Price - corresponds to the provided food and service.
Bottom line: I recommend for couples with children and those who love a quiet relaxing holiday. Young people, I think, will be bored or will have to have fun outside the hotel.
