Mostly older people stay here. Lots of retirees. With children it’s generally not worth going for them, like there is a playground and, in principle, everything. Mostly older people stay here. Lots of retirees. With children it’s generally not worth going for them, like there is a playground and, in principle, everything. There is nothing more for the youth to do here. We had to wait a little while checking in, but in general there were no problems. Nice big room. All you need to eat. Free safe. Free mini bar replenished every day. There is a small set of cosmetics. Free internet catches throughout. The food is very good and varied. The hotel offers breakfast and lunch as usual. For dinner, you need to choose a time to visit. With a difference of 1-2 hours. For example from 18.30 or from 20.30. This was done in order to avoid crowds of people. The food is very good breakfasts do not change much But lunches and dinners with a good variety. Always several types of meat and fish. And at once in several types of preparation. Many are grilled in front of you. Breakfast includes three types of freshly squeezed juices. A small selection of cheeses but the cheeses are good, there is blue cheese. Sometimes there is seafood. Mussels and shrimps. Dietary food is scarce and rarely steamed. Ice cream for lunch and dinner. Good selection of fruits. There are a la carte restaurants, but everything is basically the same as in the main one, but there are good dishes that are not on the common table. There are good cocktails, good wine and beer. But in general, it is better to bring local alcohol with you. There is little entertainment in the hotel. In the evenings there is live music and you can still dance. Daytime animation is very calm and unobtrusive. There is a standard set. Basketball, table tennis, water aerobics, darts. You can play bocha or mini golf. In general, the hotel by 22.00 is already completely dying out. Exactly what we wanted. In general, the hotel was found very quickly, it was good that they listened to a friend and turned to a professional travel agent Dmitry Mir who needs to look in the VKontakte social network by last name. The people and our small budget and the hotels quickly oriented everything took about ten minutes. And the pleasant person himself even gave useful advice about the country, thanks to which we were able to save a lot. The beach is good too. To the beach 300 m. Good entry into the water. Fairly long and wide. The beach is clean. Lots of loungers. The beach bar only soft drinks and that's it. The hotel itself is small and has a large swimming pool. Good design landscaping. In general, the holiday was great!

Review of your stay at the Royal Garden Palace (ex Palace Royal Garden) 5 * hotel in Tunisia on the island of Djerba from 19.10. 2018 to 30.10. 2018
For the first time in history, I and my 22-year-old grandson arrived at the airport on the island of Djerba on a direct flight from Minsk in the morning, after a 3.5-hour flight. The hotel for 280 people is well-groomed, the interior is rich, the staff is friendly, vacationers are aged (not a party hotel), mostly French, Germans, English, few Russian speakers. Conversation in French, his attendants know and understand.
The building is 3-4 storey with an elevator only in the central part. Russian-speakers are accommodated mainly in 3-storey wings without an elevator. The rooms are large, clean, well furnished, with a balcony.
The rooms have a hair dryer, a bathrobe, slippers, 3 towels each, a shaving machine with cream, shampoo, a toothbrush with paste, shoe products, but there was no shoe spatula. The room was cleaned daily by a friendly man.
Meals "all inclusive" varied, sufficient, of good quality, mainly European cuisine, never had heartburn, there was a kosher and dietary menu. Fruits are monotonous every day, tangerines never appeared in our hotel.
The sea is far shallow, it's good in calm, but in October there are winds, a big wave. Locals say that autumn came early this year and the winds raised a big wave that threw out a lot of algae, it was difficult to swim in muddy water from algae and sand. This overshadowed our rest, but we swam in the sea all the days, except for two, when the elements raged. The wind was up to 40 ms, the sunbeds were removed from the beach, because the wave reached the buildings and they would have been blown into the sea. Took out tons of algae, but everything was quickly put in order. It should be noted the well-coordinated work of the staff. These 2 days we swam in a large outdoor pool near the bar.
Annimation - music mainly in French, (only one singer performed the Russian song from the repertoire of Tender May).
In the evening it is warm, pleasant atmosphere, beautiful music and good wine (which the waiters always bring to the tables on the street), friendly audience, dancing - complete relaxation sets in. Now about the spa at the hotel. The purpose of the trip to Tunisia was the desire to receive additional treatment for myself and my grandson. The hotel has a fresh water pool, algae and mud treatments, a sauna, a shower, very good masseurs. Prices are lower than with spa centers.
But thalassotherapy is a complex of spa treatments based on a visit to the pool with “bubbling” heated sea water with algae, sea mud and silt treatments. The hotel did not have a pool with sea water. I had to travel and look for a SPA Center in other hotels.
I stopped at the Bio-Spa center based on the Cesar Thalasso SPA hotel, 4 * which is a 2-minute drive.
The price was higher than in our hotel. Massages, epilations and cosmetic procedures were offered as separate procedures, everything else was offered in courses of 3 to 6 days or in packages. The cost of the complexes, depending on the purpose, is from 520 to 1060 dinars (1S = 2.8 dinars). Packages of diverse massages - 6 pieces, costing from 340 to 605 dinars. At the same time, a pool with hydrotherapy (4 pcs) was a gift.
Appointments are made by a doctor, his name is Fedi (Fedya), he graduated from the medical institute in Russia and speaks Russian. After the conversation, he offered us for the treatment the most selected, for our diseases, individual complexes for 6 days and at the same time agreed to reduce the price, for which we are grateful to him. The equipment in the center is modern, the couches on which wraps are made are automated. Only the underwear left an unpleasant impression; the bathrobes are not white, the towels had an unpleasant smell and were washed out.
They explained this by the fact that there are many visitors and a high turnover. It should be noted the professional work of the massage therapist Mario (who performed a special back massage for my grandson and the masseuse Latifa (who skillfully did both classic and specific massages and lymphatic drainage for me) A pleasant surprise was that the taxi ride there and back was organized by the Spa and provided for free.
In general, the treatment was successful, for which thanks to all the friendly staff!!!! ! .
We recommend visiting the crocodile farm on your own on the day of feeding, it is nearby (travel 2 dinars one way, entrance ticket 20 dinars), 2-3 hours are enough.
We bought gifts at a carrefour market in the nearest town of Midoun (travel 4 dinars one way)
Holidays at the Royal Garden Palace (ex Palace Royal Garden) 5 * hotel are well organized, with the exception of those issues mentioned above.

Depth up to two meters there is a shallow entry for children. There are always enough beds. Well, let's say the design is morally outdated, but in general everything is neat. Everything looks good. There is nothing broken. A separate toilet has a bidet and a toilet bowl and a separate bathroom with a bathtub and a washbasin. What can we say is rare. Generally comfortable. Spacious safe. Spacious wardrobes with mirrored doors. Refrigerator put water daily. Two beds pushed together. Daily cleaning and a present leave a few sweets. The room has a pair of armchairs, a table, a large mirror dressing table. Electronics is modern. The balcony is spacious enough, too, a table and two chairs. There is a dryer. Slippers and shampoo lotions are not available, so bring your own. Everything about food is great. Meat of different types. Delicious ice cream vegetables fruits. Basically, you won't go hungry. The only thing missing was our soups. . There were vegetable and potato cream soups that looked like mashed potatoes diluted with water) And also fish. In general, not one did not like. But here for an amateur. There are two bars at the lobby open from six in the evening until one in the morning. There is a poolside bar and restaurant. Five minutes walk to the beach. Along the alley with palm trees. The sand is white and small, like in the Dominican Republic. On the beach there is a non-alcoholic bar with soft drinks. There are toilets and showers on the beach. They walk with horses camels very colorful. In general, the hotel is more suitable for a measured rest. You can easily find it by the name of the surname in the social network VKontakte. From entertainment archery, water aerobics in general, nothing special. In the evenings, various performances, singers, artists such as belly dance, or folk music. The hotel is good, we will come back!

Not a single insect was seen! Beach towels can be changed at any time. To change bed linen, just put a special card on the bed. The towels in the room were changed regularly. Simple bottled and mineral water in bottles was replenished every day, brought to the room. The minibar was also replenished. Russian-speaking staff, polite and friendly. All requests were responded to immediately. For our own pleasure, we spoke French.
The cuisine is varied and delicious. We visited a Tunisian restaurant, we liked it. The waiters in the main restaurant are efficient and helpful.
The beach is clean and sandy. The territory of the hotel is well-groomed, but there are places, so to speak, not mastered. Mainly in the beach area. The sea is capricious, it stormed a little, but this is October.
I want to return to this hotel in the summer season.

To begin with, you need to understand that Tunisia is very different from inexpensive resorts such as Turkey or Egypt. First of all, these are quiet resorts with unobtrusive animation and calm evening performances. Going to Tunisia for noisy discos or evening walks around the city is clearly not worth it. Knowing these facts, we had nothing to be disappointed in, on the contrary, we got a lot of pleasure from a wonderful quiet holiday.

Knowing these facts, we had nothing to be disappointed in, on the contrary, we got a lot of pleasure from a wonderful quiet holiday. The first thing that caught my eye was the friendly and very correct staff, pleasant polite communication, good service, both in the restaurant and in the hotel bars. Almost everyone, at least a little, speaks Russian. All issues were resolved quickly and easily. The food is quite decent. I won’t say that the tables were full of food, but it’s hard to stay hungry. The breakfasts looked rather poor, but the coffee was brewed very tasty, plus several types of freshly squeezed juices. Several types of cheeses, porridge, sausage cuts, we had enough. For lunch and dinner there were several types of meat, fish and seafood, vegetables and fruits, several types of ice cream. Nice that the wine was served in bottles. Although the food was not very much, everything was well prepared and very tasty. By the way, WI-FI caught almost everywhere perfectly, in the room, by the pool and even on the beach. Now for the number. The room is spacious, clean. Cleaning daily, change of towels too, bed linen changed several times. But the presence of slippers still would not hurt. The pool is nice, big and clean. The territory is large, well-groomed, but I would like a little more greenery. Although the hotel is on the first line, it is a bit far to go to the beach, 5-7 minutes. On the beach there is a bar with juices, drinks and coffee. Horses and camels really walk along the beach, but this not only did not bother us, but even gave more local flavor. At the same time, the beach is clean, constantly cleaned. The sand is fine and white. The entrance to the sea is gentle, you have to walk to the depths, but for the kids, that's it. The hotel is generally quiet and calm, excellent staff, beautiful sea.

At this time, it’s not quite hot there, of course, you can get a tan, but swimming is no longer quite (although the sea is warm, the waves bring algae because of the wind). They say it's not the season, it seems to be true. The beach bar has been closed since November. Only one day the sea was completely clean with smooth waves.

They say it's not the season, it seems to be true. The beach bar has been closed since November. Only one day the sea was completely clean with smooth waves. The rest of the time, sand and algae raised from the bottom created discomfort, so they swam to the depths on a catamaran and swam there. Communicated on excursions with tourists from other hotels in Djerba - the same problem. But for Russians this is not a problem. but foreigners - more and more hanging out at the pool. You can sunbathe in plenty, the beaches are deserted, the sun is gentle. Unlike Egypt, top-less is also possible. Heated indoor pool only. on the street - without heating, i. e. like in the sea, only cleaner : )). There are really few Russian-speaking tourists. The animators don't try very hard, but for lack of communication, they have to be content with little. There are young people, there is even a disco on the territory of the hotel, for hotel guests - for free. Not all staff speaks English, which is a little annoying, but the service is excellent, they try very hard to understand and help.
We went to the Sahara. The country is, of course, poor. What struck me was the pile of rubbish scattered across the desert along the road. It is not clear who sketched it, maybe it was blown away by the wind, but the sight was embarrassing all the way. I liked the sandy Sahara, but it’s better not to count on extreme sports. Jeep and camel rides were short and very calm, as for me : ))) For a fee, you can ride ATVs. fly in an airplane. At this time, it is not hot at all, even during the day. In general, in order to have an idea about the country, nature, people, you must of course go and see. It’s true that our group was unlucky with the guide: dull and tired of life, neither positive nor enthusiastic : ((
Dates, especially fresh ones, are really very tasty, but I didn’t like pomegranates, they are pale pink and just sweet, we are used to sweet and sour and bright red.

Meals: breakfast from 7 to 10, then from 10 to 12 - in a bar on the street by the pool
from 12:30 to 15 we have lunch by the pool or from 13 to 15 - in a restaurant - there is more choice
after 15 to 17 - afternoon snack - quite Russian pancakes : -) etc.
dinner in 2 shifts - 18 and 20 hours - on the first day you need to go to the metro station and reserve a table. if you forgot - no problem, you can do it right during dinner.
Drinks all the time - but a feature - in the restaurant for lunch and dinner there are no hot drinks - only wines, juices, lemonades. Bars, please. But coffee-teas are not tasty because of the tasteless water, so they still managed without them. Gained 3 kg in 10 days.
The rooms are cleaned every day, good. I gave the guy 1 dinar (~20 rubles) tip. There is a feature - in the bathroom there is a sign that if you want to change the towel - throw it in the bath. I only read it on the 3rd day : ).
The beach is not bad, sunbeds are free, mattresses and towels are provided. When settling, they give laminated pieces of paper - you change them for a beach towel by the pool, and then again a towel for a piece of paper.
Animation in November consisted of three young people - really cool guys, but there are very few of them. You can shoot archery, play petanque, minigolf, etc. , all sorts of gymnastics. In the evening entertainment programs. ATVs, horses, camels, golf and tennis - for individual grannies. Golf is for big grannies.
The thalosotherapy center in the hotel is also separate grannies. The simplest massage is 35 dinars (multiply by 20 rubles), the most minimal rate is more than 250 dinars. If you have 50 dinars - great. But who took advantage - praise.
In the hotel, and indeed on the island, few people speak English. The main language is French, this is understandable, a former colony, then German. Everyone in the hotel speaks it. And rest (in November), mostly German pensioners. There were 7 Russians, and they were the only young people in the hotel, not counting the animators.
We went on an excursion to the Sahara for 2 days - I liked it, I recommend it. It cost about 180 dinars, but there is where to put grannies - buggies, a hang glider over the desert, all sorts of souvenirs...
I really liked the local dates, as well as olive oil - this is from what you can bring home. Oil must be bought in Midoun - a town on the island, from the hotel by taxi - 2 dinars. There are a lot of interesting things there. There are traditional Arab shops where you have to bargain until you are blue in the face (and you still get inexperienced : )), there are shops with a fixed price (it is written at the entrance) - like at home - you came calmly, looked at everything, asked the price and no one bothers. You can also go to Houmt Souk (7 dinars per road) - this town is larger, more interesting. But, by and large, apart from markets, shops, there is nothing to see either.
A call to Russia from the reception cost 1.2 dinars per minute - i. e. very cheap.
There are diving stations, but I don’t know where it is interesting to dive - the entire coast is solid sand. I took a mask, but dived only once - it was boring.

We took our child, he is three years old and he also received a lot of impressions.
