Hi all. Were at the Welcome Plaza Hotels 3 in the first half of April 2011.
I will try to describe the hotel by explaining the negative reviews about this hotel.
1) And so let's start. From the main theme of this hotel are bugs and all living creatures there.
I can say with 100 percent certainty that there were no bugs in at least five rooms at the time of my stay there. Why five? Because I managed to talk on this topic only with the guests of the five rooms. But I'm sure there are many more. When I went to the reception on the first day and the girl began to draw me up. After reading the negative reviews, I gave her 300 baht. I don’t remember what number she wrote me on the food stamps, but after receiving the above amount and explaining in broken English (with the use of gestures) that I need a room without insects. She silently tore up the coupons and wrote number 839. The room turned out to be very decent and WITHOUT insects.

I, like you, rewrote the numbers in the reviews WITHOUT insects. But it makes sense if you arrive right after me. After the expiration of time, where there were no bugs, they can appear and, accordingly, where they were, they could have been eradicated for a long time. So draw your own conclusions.
2) They write that the rooms are old and especially focus on plumbing.
Yes, the rooms are really old. But they are relatively clean and nothing spills from the walls and ceiling. Photo attached. As for plumbing, it is correspondingly old too. But as they say, you do not take the number for yourself forever. But a couple of weeks can be interrupted. Lizhba did not flow. I'm sure there are even fewer rooms with current plumbing than with bedbugs.
3) They write that the breakfast is monotonous and terrible.
We stayed at the hotel for 12 days. During these days, he has not changed even once for one position. These are scrambled eggs, sausages, ham (complete cowpea for my taste), rice, two types of fried meat (really spicy), boiled grass, watermelon and pineapple.
After 3-4 days, all this is very boring. But this is not the most important thing and this is only breakfast for which no one forces you to go. And as far as I know, all triples suffer from this.
4) They write that it is very noisy.
The hotel has two main sides. The first overlooking the pool, and the second where the main entrance. The pool side has very loud music playing until late at night. But this didn’t bother me and my wife in any way, because in the evening we just fell off our feet, and easily fell asleep to the noise. But what if you have a weak nervous system and you wake up from every noise. You are not that in this hotel, in general, you cannot take a hotel in the center.
5) A very big minus of the hotel is that the pool is closed after 19:00.
This circumstance upset me the most. The pool is clean and big.
6) Theft
We were warned by the hotel guide that stealing in a tough way.
All valuables - money (even Russian ones), jewelry, documents and everything that is small and of value - store at the reception in a safe, they definitely do not steal there. Clothes and everything that is difficult and profitable to sell, they do not touch. Any amount left on the chest of drawers will count as a tip.

7) Well, the location.
This is not a minus, but a huge plus of this hotel, because walking street is 5-7 minutes on foot. There is no dependence on transport. Well, the ferry to the islands is very close.
8) We found a really cheap canteen near the hotel. If you left the hotel, do not cross the road, but turn left and walk a block and a half. You will see an open cafe with a sign BREAKFAST 52. One serving is about 50 baht.

P. S. I can tell you, if you are young, you have come not to sleep in hotels and at the same time want to save money. This hotel is for you. He justifies his triple.

And now I will tell you a little about the excursions that I visited.
1) Nong Nooch (botanical garden)
The garden is beautiful, but the most interesting thing is not the garden itself, but the elephant show held in it. It's really worth seeing. The cost is 600 baht.
2) Mini Siam.
We traveled by ourselves. When you understand the movement of tuk-tuks. Pick up a free Pattaya map from your hotel. And go ahead. I don't remember the price of the entrance ticket. But with a tour the difference is 150 baht per person. This is not significant, but no one drives in the ass there.
3) Crocodile farm and garden of a million stones
Not that great, but you can see. And the famous photo with a saddle on a 3-meter crocodile can only be taken there. The cost is 500 baht.
4) The famous River Kwai
There is nothing special about this excursion. She's just full. There is nothing like in Egypt. You drive stupidly for six hours to see the pyramid and the same amount back without stopping. On Kwai there are many different interesting stops. Back also stupidly 5 hours non-stop. Plus excursions, change of scenery.
And most importantly, a breakfast that is different from yours at the hotel, it's really a buzz!! ! ! ! The cost is about 3000 baht.

Be sure to take not an excursion to Bangkok, but a three-day stay and better at the end of the holiday. And that is not enough.

My big advice to you. If you count your money, do not take a survey of Bangkok. By taxi it will be twice cheaper or even three times cheaper. And you are also free from the crowd.
1) The Royal Palace (entrance 150 Baht) and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha (50 Baht) are very close five minutes walk from each other.
2) Another temple on the other side of the river (I don’t remember the name, but it is also included in the review program). Ferry crossing 3 baht per person. And Entrance 50 baht. Girls, take long skirts with you and save one hundred baht for each temple.
3) The largest oceanarium in Southeast Asia. DREAM WORLD. The entrance is 1000 baht, but it's worth it. If you are on vacation in Pattaya and you have plans for Bangkok, do not take the oceanarium in Pattaya.
4) The famous skyscraper with many restaurants at a bird's eye view.
Baiyoke sky Baiyoke sky The price for dinner in one of the restaurants depends on the time.
There are several restaurants on different floors. The entrance fee to the buffet restaurant is about 800 baht per person. It's really varied and delicious. But if you just came for the view and are not going to overeat. Then take only the entrance to the observation deck and you can sit a little in a cafe on the 82nd floor. Entrance is about 250 baht.
Have a good rest.
