Plus, there was no hot water in the room. It was necessary to drain for 15 minutes so that it went barely warm. In such a cold room with such water it is even difficult to wash, let alone wash. But we were so tired after the flight that when we all found out we didn’t have the strength to change the room and decided to spend the night as is. The next morning they changed our room. They only asked the reason. She said about the noise, broken air conditioner (even the photo showed a broken adjustment block) and the lack of hot water. I got an odd number again, but on the long side. There was running water, the air conditioner was working, and the giant spinning machine didn't make any noise, so we were happy to say the least. In general, of course, the rooms are tired. There was a door to the next room in the wall. Through this door, of course, the audibility is excellent. If you're not lucky with the neighbors - consider everything is lost. We were lucky.
Then they left and others settled in, who began to drink, yell obscenities and everything that is supposed to be in such cases. Turned on the TV to somehow drown it all out. But by the time they had to go to bed, they were quiet. Toli fell asleep, roofing felts went for a walk. Don't know. True, at four in the morning I woke up from drunken screams behind the wall. But they quickly subsided again. Then at seven o'clock in the morning, apparently the wife, presumably read lectures to her husband about yesterday's behavior. I learned a lot about him: with whom he drank, how much he drank, how often this is repeated. Well, I think everything. The rest of the nights promise to be fun. But no. In the evening there was a child. I don't know them or who they changed with. But everything was calm.
Not very comfortable beds. They are on wheels and move easily. Sometimes, from a careless movement, the headboard drove away from the wall. And very uncomfortable pillows. They were too high for us.
Of the inconveniences, there was also a base with electricity control in the room. I don't know how to properly name it. It was built into the bedside table and buzzed. In principle, it is not audible, but at night it interfered, so I had to move on the bed closer to another bedside table.
From convenient - a fishing line is stretched over the bathtub on which you can dry wet swimwear. Lots of towels. Cleaned up every day. They came to us around lunchtime.
I would also like to say separately about tour operators. Since the hotel is now mainly occupied by the big three - Pegasus, Sanmar / Coral (aka Odeon) and Anex, then most likely you will get to the hotel with them. This time we were from Sanmar, the meeting side of the Odeon. It has already been said below, but I want to repeat it again. They don't need us!! ! Just to buy tours.
To begin with, on the bus, the guide devoted several minutes to the story that all operators switched to notifying tourists about departures not by a general announcement in the hotel lobby, but by personal calls. That everyone will be called personally, and for this you just need to come to the information meeting and leave your phone number. Direct emphasis was on this, that it is necessary to leave a phone number for personal notification. As a result, no one called us, although for us it was very important. But it doesn't matter. We sorted out the flight ourselves and called the hotline. On the hotline, by the way, the girl spoke to me as if I had interrupted her from something very important. At first they simply did not pick up the phone several times, then they dropped it several times. But most of all I was struck by the discovery that in fact no one is responsible for us there and no one is interested in whether we get on the flight on time or not.
I called the hotel guide to warn that we would get to the airport ourselves so that they would not look for us. To which the guide replied that no one would look for us, they would wait five minutes and leave. I say: "You still mark us just in case. " "Yes, yes! I marked you" and is going to hang up. How did he mark us? I did not name the room number, not the hotel, nor the last name, nor the number of the voucher? That's how people won't come to the bus and no one cares. And what if they, God forbid, drowned in the sea, ended up in a Thai prison, but just overslept corny? ? Well, or at least to be honest, they immediately warned: so and so, we are not responsible for you, take care of yourself. And then at a meeting there are always such beautiful songs that we are responsible for you, just be with us. But in practice, after buying excursions, interest in you disappears. Yes, and excursions can not sell properly. Signed up for one. The check was said to be issued later. In the evening they found a check in an envelope under the door of the room.
It turned out that the tour was postponed to another date, and we found out about it only when they didn’t come for us on the day we signed up for. And all this silently, without warning, without apology. This is not the first time we have been in Thailand, we have heard about all this, and we ourselves have repeatedly seen it. Usually they took excursions from Cocos Travel or some other local agency, I don’t remember the name. This time we decided to try with the operator. We occasionally do this for comparison. So. You need to go to the information meeting only to shake out money from you for excursions. Our guide's name was Baga. Guy from Makhachkala. He took the information meeting with shock. Free comedy club. If you want to laugh - go to his performance. But every year we are convinced that the operators come up with more and more horror stories and lure for a meeting, but in reality nothing is confirmed. We took the Exotik Pattaya tour. I don't even know if it was worth it or not. The price is only $30. It doesn't seem like much.
We paid in baht and they charged us even less. But the tour itself. The emphasis is on visiting the beautiful palace of the Sukhawadi Chicken King. Well, plus a visit to the golden buddha on the rock - a gift from the king's son to his father for the anniversary of the reign, a snake farm and show, a gem center, a leather and outerwear center, and some other kind of store. The girl who led the tour - well done! Did a great job, explained everything perfectly. Unfortunately I forgot her name. She also goes to surveys. True, Baga proudly declared at the meeting that they had removed the overviews. Now it's Amayzing Pattaya. In fact, everything is the same. So, about our tour. Of the interesting things, you can only look at the Buddha and the small park broken around. Then snakes. The show was fun. And that's it! After the show, snake preparations are sold at exorbitant prices. The same ones can be bought at other pharmacies cheaper. There, of course, the emphasis is on "no one but us. " Then you will be taken to see not high-quality, but expensive leather.
Then stonework. Which are also more expensive than around the corner. Well, at the end of the whole palace with a buffet. Hooray! Finally a palace! Yeah. No matter how. On the spot, it turns out that you will not get into the palace itself, as well as into other buildings on the territory. Only Buddhists can go there. You will be asked to leave when you try to log in. So you are content with a walk around the territory and lunch with a transvestite show. Lunch I will tell you right away. And the organization is worse than in the Soviet canteen. So we almost regretted that we went. But if we didn't go, we wouldn't know.
1. It is very hot and humid outside, very cold in the room. I am not afraid of air conditioners and cold winds, BUT the first three days we survived in the room. Because a strong temperature difference and besides, the air conditioner was not regulated at all. That is, either it blows or it doesn't. If you open the balcony to warm up, immediately all the windows and glass will fog up from the humidity. In general, you need to get used to.
2. Room service was good. We lived on the 9th floor and somewhere around 10-11 they came to us to clean up, but we never saw them. Always new towels, soap, shampoos, gels, threads, a needle, a cap, slippers, coffee, tea and two bottles of water.
3. Few people speak English, especially Russian. It overshadowed when something interested and wanted to clarify.
4. The room has a safe. Once I forgot to close it, but no one touched anything there. Sometimes the equipment was left in the room quietly and no one touched anything either.
5. Clean beach. This is really a huge plus of the fact that the hotel is located 15 km from the center. There are ebb and flow, but
it's like that everywhere. The sand is clean, the sea is unclear, but no dirt or debris. There are no sun loungers on the beach, but you can sunbathe near the pools. There are a lot of them in the hotel, especially the Ocean building has a beautiful pool with very good sunbeds! By the way, not so many people. The place has always been good. Also in the pool, which is the largest and closest to the sea.
6. Breakfast. At the very beginning of the holiday, we were given coupons for all days. Breakfasts for every taste. Eat as soon as you can. From fruits there are papaya, watermelon and melon. There is also a fruit mix for yogurt. In general, a lot of food.
7. Opposite the hotel across the road there are rows where local cafes are located. We often ate there, well, or ate in the center. Food is acceptable, prices are generally good. Even cheaper than downtown. Very tasty necks (40 baht) right here (we tried a lot of them in different places, honestly! ) Necks are more expensive, but much tastier and the ice does not feel that way. Also delicious ice cream with coconut milk (20 baht).
8. Also opposite the hotel there are many places where you can get a massage. 200 baht - foot massage and Thai massage and 300 baht - oil massage. In the center exactly the same, if that. We checked.
9. Since the hotel is very far away, then take a card at any currency exchange office, they are there on the street and go to the center on a white tuk-tuk (songteo). Well, after all, I’ll say that don’t talk to the driver, but just get into the back.
Tuk-tuks turn into taxis after 22:00, so be on time before 10. By the way, this is a minus of the hotel that you can’t walk around Pattaya in the evening (Well, or pay for a taxi (
In the center it is more profitable to change course. Well, just walk around the city itself. True, there are practically no sidewalks, so you need to walk carefully and keep an eye on your bag just in case.
10. In the hotel itself, we ate only once on the last day. We ate at the Atrium. I would like to note that everything was very tasty, but still a little expensive at a rate of 1 to 2.
11. And of course the last - no matter how the guide frightens - this is his job. Travel yourself, look for cheaper excursions, we bought at tc24. club/ and don't let these hotel guides spoil your mood : )
I'll tell you about our impressions about the hotel and the country. Vacation fell in mid-April. Ocean Corps.
It was hot. +35+40. Wet. But there was no rain.
They read about the hotel and knew what was in it and how. But in general, upon arrival there was some disappointment, no, more precisely, a mismatch between expectations and reality. The first thing that puzzled me was the smell in the hotel. Some kind of hospital, or an old damp house.
But in order... We got to the hotel at about 13.00. So it was not necessary to wait for the settlement, both literally and figuratively. Settled instantly, although no one at the reception in Russian did not understand. Everything was arranged, they gave coupons for breakfast, a card for towels. They took a deposit of $ 100 (which, by the way, is returned in the same currency). They gave me the key to room 425. We didn't pay anyone extra and didn't leave a tip either. Because there was nothing special about it. This room overlooks the backyard with a small sea view. Below were some roofs. At first they were disappointed, then they did not remember it.
The room itself was a good idea. Spacious, with two large beds (1.5 and 2-sleeping), which moved easily, with good mattresses. Large windows to the floor. Flat TV with three Russian channels (ORT, NTV and PegasTV). However, the room stock itself is old, somewhat tired and dirty. The carpet was stained with stains of various sizes and was no longer subject to cleaning. The sofa is also not the first freshness. Everything else is also old and sloppy. However, everything worked: the lights, the air conditioner, the refrigerator, the safe, and the plumbing. We didn't have any complaints here.
Cleaning was every day. At least the bed was made, replenished with water (2 to 0.5), tea, coffee. Water bottles should be left on the table, not thrown away. Otherwise, a fine. For pool towels not returned on time, too. So read the instructions given. By the way, the room was family, ie. with a door to another room. It was closed and we did not hear much noise because of this. I don’t know who made noise, we didn’t complain about the noise either from the neighbors, or from the Atrium, the cafe in the lobby.
The breakfast food was good. Enough choice and quite edible. You won't be left hungry.
Near the dining room there is a personal ocean pool. There is also a towel dispenser. They had to be handed over before 19.00, otherwise they threaten with a fine. We did not check whether this was true and rented it out as indicated, although this is strange and inconvenient, since the pool is open until 20.00. We also swam in the pool near the beach, the rest did not try. The beach is good. I consider it as clean as the sea, by the standards of Pattaya, of course. Yes, the water is not crystal clear, but without garbage and any living creatures. Tourists from other hotels closer to Pattaya could not boast of this. There really aren't enough umbrellas. There didn't seem to be any problems with sunbeds. It was possible to find. Both on the beach and by the pools.
The territory of the hotel is large, only the central "street" is worth something. But there are free electric cars on it that you can get to the right place. Of course, if you're lucky to catch him at the right time. We usually don't even wait. We just walked.
In general, I liked the area. Well-groomed, beautiful. Of course, there is no place to walk, just to walk. But it was nice to watch.
There are several buildings on the territory of the hotel. Different levels and different stars. Several pools. There are massage places (250 baht - Thai massage for the whole body).
There is a small market with all sorts of things: from fruits to ointments, from clothes to magnets. The prices are adequate, not more expensive than in Pattaya. And there is no point in going specifically for something specific to Pattaya. Spend more on the road.
Across the road from the hotel there are also several stalls with fruit and in the evening there are macaroons with food. There is also a street "food court" =), with different food. I won’t say that we are fans of eating like this, but still we tried food there. And quite satisfied. We also tried shrimp and tom yum, fish and grilled squid. Prices please.
Right there, across the road, there is a 7/11 shop, on the side of the hotel to the left, there is also right next to the crossing bridge.
Near 7/11 in the evening pancakes were sold from the top. Delicious. Who has not tried, we recommend with a banana (40 baht).
I will also add food at the hotel. Since we didn't really like the food on the street, we tried the tom yum at the hotel. In the Atrium. It is more expensive than on the street, but also tastier (90 baht - food court street, 190 - street, cafe near the elevated passage, 220 baht - hotel).
In the evening, a local "food court" was opened at the hotel in front of the Ocean building. Several tents with food (from Russian to Thai). Tables were set up outside. We often ate there. Tasty. Of course, more expensive than on the street.
For a small comparison: dinner on the street with a beer bought from a store is about 270-300 baht (for two), in a hotel in the evening with a beer bought here - 550 baht (for two). I must say right away that the dishes are different. But in general, the price level is visible. But in the hotel, in our opinion, it was tastier.
They also often took any fast food at 7/11. Have a snack in the afternoon (burger about 35-40 baht, yoghurts about 20 baht / piece).
By the way, beer is sold according to a very curious schedule: 11.00-14.00 and 17.00-23.00. Do not buy during the day. That's it!
The hotel is located quite far from Pattaya (but located on the main street of Sukhumvit). And this is both a plus and a minus. The minus is that it is far and noticeable in time to get there, plus, in the silence and purity of the sea.
Tuk-tuks go to Pattaya. Transport is very peculiar and not quite clear to us. They walk in a straight line. But once, when returning from Pattaya to the hotel, he turned and left for the labyrinth of streets, stopped to rest (what to do, sabai), though when they were indignant, he took us back to Sukhumvit and transferred us to another tuk-tuk to the hotel, Another time late in the evening at returning from the city with our company (6 people) he took the money as for a taxi, but he continued to recruit people as for a tuk-tuk, right there at the bus stop. As a result, having a fight, we left in a normal taxi with air conditioning for the same money that he extorted (300 baht). However, these are cases. Other times everything was fine. Don't be afraid.
On the way to Pattaya, there are large Tesco Lotus stores, 7/11 (groceries) and about the Outlet Mall (clothes) in the same place. They were not in the products, although they were going to. The people said that there was nothing to do there, the prices were the same as on the street.
We went to Outlet Mall on the way. If anyone is looking for good textiles, then it is probably worth visiting.
Generally we went to the night market near Tesco Lotus. Night, or rather evening. The market, and the market. Rows with things, rows with food, as in any market. Looked once and no more is needed. Food, yes! Own, Thai. Worth a try if it's there. I really liked the cocktails (30-40 baht). There were none near the hotel. For dinner, we collected 350 baht of sundries for two.
For the tour operator (Pegasus) I will say... Disgusting work. Not only did you stay at the airport due to the extreme disorganization of the meeting, but also at the hotel... Brainwashing about buying excursions and completely ignoring you, in the absence of a desire to purchase them. Frank humiliation of other sellers of excursions. And in the end, we bought from them (from street agencies), the prices were at least half as low, with the same absolute level of service.
We took Nong Nooch and the Khao Kheo Zoo: both there and there 500 baht / person (from the tour operator 1200 / person). Liked. And organization. And the tours themselves.
In general, we concluded that tour operators do not need you, they need your money. Moreover, they are trying to divorce us in such a rude and primitive way (they are especially fearful in the field of documents and medical insurance)... Newcomers are being conducted. We didn't buy.
Well, and finally, money, currency... We changed dollars at the tour operators Pegasus and Anex (there must be some use from them). On the street, the rate was lower, and always. So we didn't even bother.
Rubles can also be exchanged for baht, but dollars are more profitable.
I hope I covered all aspects. If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer all interested. Including prices.
Have a nice rest and fun!
they take people for 3.300 baht on a boat. supposedly to the island! Laughter. !! ! The cost of a trip from the hotel by taxi is 800 baht. Count. analyze. DO NOT BE DECEIVED!
P. S. Yes, about the different insects and smells there (which are written about in the reviews). We didn’t have any insects in the hotel, and smells are everywhere in Thailand, these are the tropics... Have a good rest!
Balcony overlooking the sea, Marina Tower building, swimming pool. The air conditioner is noisy, at night we turned it off when we left the room - turned it on, if not us, then the servant who cleaned the room. They cleaned the room every day when we left - they pressed the MAKE UP button on the remote control (on the bedside table), when we were in the room - the Do Not Disturb button and we were not disturbed. They cleaned normally, towels were changed every day, sometimes the floor was washed, the beds were made. The bed linen has never been changed. In the room, clothes do not dry at all, the climate is very humid, so we put one chair on the balcony and dried clothes on it. There is no safe in the room, only one at the reception, there is often a queue for it, well, it didn’t bother us.
Nutrition. Breakfast from 6.30 to 10.00, there are both European food - sausages, fried bacon, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, rice, pilaf and so on, as well as Thai dishes - soups, rice with chicken. There are croissants, cakes, buns and so on, from fruits - pineapple, papaya, watermelon.
From drinks - tea, coffee, orange juice, grapefruit juice, water. No one left hungry, and the best was not expected. The hotel is large and it was often difficult to find a free table, but we went deeper into the restaurant - closer to the pool and there was almost always free. We had to have lunch and dinner outside the hotel, either on the beach or in one of the many cafes; grilled catfish, shrimp, mussels, there was beer and a bar with more strong drinks. In the first and last tents, baht was exchanged for coupons and food was bought for these coupons in the tents, unused coupons can be exchanged back for money, but until 12 at night, as they were with dates. Walked to the beach - 5 minutes walk to the left.
there you can eat grilled catfish for 100 baht (1 baht - 1 ruble), you can also buy shrimp at any time - 12 pieces for 100 baht (royal prawns), we also went by tuk - tuk sometimes to Tesco - Lotus to eat sushi for 10 baht / piece.
Territory. It has its own market with nice prices for both fruits and clothes with souvenirs. Pineapple - 40 rubles - 1 piece, it will be cleaned, cut and packed in front of you. In our building there was a store that also had alcohol (Thai rum 0.25 l - 150 baht, 0.5 liter - 320 baht) and food and clothing, etc. , you can top up your phone balance, only they take a commission - 10 baht. In the shop, prices are 30-50% higher compared to Tesco - Lotus, BIG - C, or 7 - Eleven, but often you don't run into them either. Also on the territory there are 4 swimming pools, a private beach, the sea is dirty in the afternoon, you have to go swimming either in the morning or at night-).
The sunbeds on the beach are semi-sitting, that is, you can’t lie on your stomach, towels are given in two places, they are taken apart very quickly, we took towels from the room and used them. There are normal sunbeds near the pool, but we almost didn’t swim in the pools, it smells of bleach from them.
Tours. The guide from Anex - Tour sold his excursions at exorbitant prices, for example the River - Kwai - 4200 rubles per person. We used the services of the Thai travel agency I. Y. O. - which was located opposite the reception. We went from them to the Sea Safari - 2000 rubles. , River Kwai - 2800 rubles per person, went to the show of transvestites Tiffany - 700 rubles - VIP seats. Park Nong - Nooch - 700 rubles. No complaints, everything went smoothly. I recommend not to delay with excursions, time passes very quickly and from the very first days go to Tiffany or Alcazar, a sightseeing tour, Nong Nooch and so on. The River Kwai is the best excursion we have ever been, Nong Nooch Park is also a must, it is very beautiful there.
P. S.
A bit of negativity from the Anex Tour company - when we flew away, I forgot my mobile phone on the bus that was taking us to the airport, they just brought us late and in a hurry forgot it in the front seat pocket, I remembered only when I got on the plane, I immediately called the Anex hotline Tour in Thailand, explained the situation, said what he came on, said the name of the guide who drove us to the airport, called him back from home in the evening, he said that the phone was not found. . Most likely, they either didn’t look for him, or the guide Marina on the bus left him as a keepsake .... -((
