Self-guided tour to Koh Samui
Finally I decided to write about my trip to Koh Samui. So the cold Siberian winter of 2015-2016 has come, I was just on vacation, I went to Sochi and got ready to punish the winter. Everything changed overnight when the wife said that she was allowed to go on vacation for two weeks and it would be nice to go somewhere. I didn’t have to choose for a long time, definitely - Thai, but where in Thailand, in Pattaya and Phuket we were, they began to choose between Koh Chang, Koh Samui and Krabi. Considered all options. We bought a plane ticket to Bangkok and back, only 13 days. We decided to sort it out on the spot. While flying, I still persuaded my wife to visit Koh Samui, not far from there and to Krabi, Koh Chang was left for another time. We flew to Suvarnabhumi airport, called a hotel on Koh Samui, bought a dtac SIM card, a happy fare, took the metro and drove to the center, from there we had to get to the southern bus station, buy tickets for the evening bus and spend the night on the road. Getting to the bus station did not cause any difficulties, we got to Victory Square by metro, got on a bus, I think number 55 and got to the bus station on it, in time it took about 1.5 hours. We bought tickets for 19-30, they cost 860 baht for one, there were 5 hours left, the bags were handed over to the storage room at the bus station and went to look for 7/11, it turned out to be far away and by the time we reached it, we were drenched in sweat, since it was cool in the store , bought all sorts of goodies so that it would not be boring on the bus (as usual, I am my favorite sem and chang). We spent the rest of the time at the bus station, at 18-00 we listened (standing) to the anthem of Thailand and, having reached our hour, moved to the platform. Everything turned out to be not so simple here, the platform was behind the station building and it was huge, we found our bus with difficulty, put our things in luggage and climbed inside, there was Siberia, cold fear, air conditioners worked at full capacity. Luckily I had my winter clothes with me. I won’t tell you about the road, despite the fact that the bus was a VIP, the road still turned out to be tiring, they stopped at a cafe at night and fed us Thai food for free. At 6 o'clock in the morning we got to the Donsak pier, transferred us to the ferry, the bus also drove on it, then it took 1.5 hours to get to the island, there we boarded the bus again and drove to the bus station (we had to not go, there is only about 1 km, and it turned out to be in the other direction, not in the one that we had to go). In general, from the bus station, by taxi - songteo for 200 baht, we got to Maenam beach, there, following the signs, we found our Lemon House hotel, found out that the tenants speak Russian, since they were immigrants from the USSR, they were accommodated in a room with kitchen on the second floor, paid only 1.000 baht per day and ran to the sea...... I have enough strength, I will write a sequel.
