Great holiday on Koh Samui.
This was our fourth trip to Thailand. From the good, they say, they are not looking for good, and once again we entrusted the issues of booking and paying for hotels on Koh Samui to the Thai company Ivan Susanin (ivan-susanin. com). As usual, everything was done perfectly and in a short time: all issues, from booking hotels to receiving vouchers, were resolved in 3-4 days, and now we are already in the joyful anticipation of the trip...
We rested in late October - early November 2013. A wonderful time of the year. Everything around is blooming and fragrant. A variety of flowering plants, fluttering beautiful butterflies. We have not seen this on previous trips, either in spring or summer. The sea is calm, clean and warm. I don’t know – maybe we were just lucky, but during the “rainy season” there was not a single day with prolonged rain. Basically, if there were precipitations, then at night - by morning everything was dry.
Our choice this time we stopped at two hotels in Chaweng Bay. The first seven days we rested in the south of the bay at the Samui Resotel & Spa. Everything in this hotel is conducive to a pleasant stay. Friendly staff, well-groomed territory, clean sea and white sand. Delicious breakfasts, and every day we were pleasantly surprised, beautifully decorating the ordered omelettes (see photo). During our stay, free WI FI Internet was only in the area around the reception. Now, they say, the hotel has expanded free WiFi throughout the whole territory. There are many cafes near the hotel. This part of Chaweng itself is unusually clean and not noisy. If you are looking for value for money and the sea and the beach are of great importance to you, then this hotel is for you. We will definitely plan our next trip to Samui Resotel.
We decided to spend the second part of the holiday in the north of Chaweng and moved to the Amari hotel. The Amari hotel chain itself in Thailand is of a good level. They strive to maintain their reputation at the proper level. Beautiful and very well maintained area, excellent service, breakfast. There is a suspicion that teams of waitresses are brought to the hotel restaurant from Bangkok, like on a watch? - they show very good service. In short - in terms of organization and service, the hotel is very good. But…. There is one significant minus - the sea in the area where the hotel is located? . I never thought that somewhere on Koh Samui there could be such a sea. In a word, we did not bathe in it. It was very disappointing to spend the remaining days of rest in the pool. Of course, it is good on the territory of the hotel (more precisely, there are even two of them), but no pool can replace the SEA. Rented kayaks.
As for excursions, in principle, almost everyone visited during previous trips, because. As a rule, we always rent a car. This time we went on a boat trip around Koh Samui with a stop at the "wild" island of Koh Tan. I liked it very much. Beautiful places, lunch on the island and, most importantly, snorkeling. In the morning they sailed - it was cloudy, but they reached the place - as if on order - the bright sun, the clearest sea, and a lot of pleasures. The guide took our boat to a well-known place on the north side of the island and we had a lot of fun swimming surrounded by schools of colorful fish - as if it were not the open sea, but an aquarium. After that, they sailed between other wild islands... It was amazing that almost every one of them has some kind of huts built by someone...
It is always a little sad when a vacation comes to an end, because all year long we remember this fabulous island and look forward to meeting it. He somehow miraculously attracts to him again and again.
And last but not least - noisy, stuffy Bangkok. We always stop for a few days on the way back - these are both excursions and shopping. As for shopping, I can advise the ISETAN and ZEN shopping center. The Arnoma Hotel is ideally located next to them. But the room must be ordered at least deluxe, because. superiors leave a feeling of some shabbiness. The hotel itself is for a short stay.
