1. Why did you choose this hotel and how did the check-in go?
For the first time, the hotel was chosen on the advice of the family of the eldest son and the first time we went (flyed) there a year ago. The main attractions of the hotels of the AquaCity complex are thermal pools, both indoor and outdoor, located on the street.
Last year, we had to leave things at the reception and walk around the city for a couple of hours, since we arrived at about 10 am, and the check-in was officially from 2 pm. True, in reality we were allowed to check in earlier - at 12.30.
This year we traveled to Uzhgorod by train, and from there by bus. There was one problem: we had to spend four and a half hours at the border, and therefore we arrived at the hotel only at 16.30 local time. There were no problems with the settlement and there were no questions.
And the second time there were no questions about choosing a hotel. We already knew exactly where and why we were going. This hotel is very good both for us pensioners and for families with children. It is good both for lovers of water procedures, thermal pools, various baths and saunas, and for lovers of mountain sports (skiing, snowboarding, sledding... ). For mountain lovers, there are various options to get into the mountains (different buses, taxis, Tatra train). To the mountain slopes in the High Tatras (including Lomnicki Shtit) - from 10 to 15 km. There are mountain routes for both winter and summer.
2. What did you like about the hotel, on the territory of the hotel?
I liked everything in the hotel! The accommodation is excellent, the food is simply excellent (breakfast and dinner are included in the price of the room, and lunch, for those who are going to dine at the hotel, is served from 12 to 14.30 at quite reasonable prices).
Most of all, my wife and I like the various thermal pools with a wide range of water treatments. We especially like the Blue Sapphire pool. I also like in the evenings, after a couple of hours in the Fire & Water Wellness & Spa sauna complex, to go out into the warm outdoor pools, look at the snow around the pools and at the starry sky.
We also liked the laser show that happens every evening in the Blue Sapphire.
It is very convenient for everyone who lives in "Seasons" and "Mountain View", having changed into bathrobes in a hotel room, to go to all pools, both indoor and outdoor, and to the bath complex.
I really like the presence of the "Olympic" 50 m pool for swimming (28-30 degrees, and last year it was 26). There is an opportunity to slowly swim a kilometer and a half from 8.00 and at 9.00 already be at breakfast. I am very pleased that the water is without chlorine!!!
3. Advantages and disadvantages of the number
We lived both times in "Seasons ***", a class room "standard". The rooms are normal, spacious, have everything you need. The bathroom has a sufficient number of batteries for drying towels, swimming trunks and swimwear (and, if necessary, bathrobes). As a drawback, one could consider the norm to issue one room key, but after my request, they gave me a second key.
For me personally, although insignificant, but still, the disadvantage of the room is some “outdated” TVs: although the TVs are of a normal size (32 inches), they are flat... but they lack USB and HDMI ports. And this does not allow watching videos brought with them on their media (as well as in their laptops), as well as videos from the network (which are usually watched on Smart TV or with Smart TV Boxes). But these are the little things in life! If you really need something, you can also look at it on a laptop.
4. What about food, service?
With food, as mentioned above, everything is fine. Breakfasts and dinners for all tastes. You can dine not only in the hotel, but also in cafes in the city.
There is a chain of pizzerias Borsalino (two of which are within 1-1.5 km from the hotels), where one hefty slice of pizza costs 1 euro. An ordinary normal person can eat a maximum of two such servings.
In the Forum shopping center, which is located at a distance of about 1.5 km from AquaCity, there is a Food Court on the third floor, where there are a variety of relatively inexpensive cafes.
Halfway from AquaCity to the Forum there is a buffet-style cafe with a buffet - 4.6 euros per adult (I don’t remember the price for children, we were in Poprad without grandchildren).
Good food option in the room. Across the road (across the river) from AquaCity, a new LIDL was built a couple of years ago, where you can buy everything you need for food quite inexpensively (up to ready-made salads and sushi sets), and the hotel rooms have electric kettles and every day residents are provided with tea and coffee.
And if someone is “money” enough, then right opposite AquaCity there is a kolyba where you can dine for 15-30 euros per person or just go to the hotel restaurant after 14.30.
Service in the hotels of the complex is excellent. No complaints.
5. What didn't you like?
In addition to the outdatedness of the TV - I find it difficult to answer.
