New Year's Journey, or Galloping Through Slovenia. Bohinj >>>
And we again rush further for our New Year's fairy tale. The next stop is at Lake Bled - it is considered the main attraction of Slovenia and the hallmark of the country. And as we move, we admire the wonderful views, and it’s hard to believe that today is December 31st.
The resort town of Bled is located in the Julian Alps. The town is small, its area is less than 190 square kilometers.
The main attraction of Lake Bled is an ancient castle on top of a mountain, and we are going there. The castle is a representative of the Middle Ages, built in the 11th century.
Let's go up to the castle with these historical characters:
In the middle of Lake Bled there is a small island, on which the chapel of the same name is located, it is it that gives the places a postcard look, you can get to the island in small boats.
Pletni are small covered boats with rows of seats on both sides. Two options were proposed: 1) a castle; 2) an island on a boat. We chose the castle, it’s a little cold on the boat, and we didn’t regret it at all - the views are fabulous. In frosty winters, the lake freezes and a skating rink opens on it.
Photo from the Internet:
Seeing enough and, of course, photographing everything that comes to hand.
On the territory there is a historical museum, an old printing house, a chapel and a well. There is also a forge here, where you can watch the master work and forge a souvenir coin.
Another attraction of the castle is the wine cellar, descending into which you can see how the wine is bottled directly from the barrels.
We looked into the cellar, listened, looked - it's interesting.
Real connoisseurs can fill the bottle with their own hands and take it with them as a souvenir, having received a certificate of origin with a real wax seal.
We ran to the fortress wall, well, just for a minute.
Finally, we drank a glass of Kuhano wine (this is mulled wine) and went to the bus, and again at a gallop, at the bus, we were met by a local guide with the words: “Why are you all running, it’s not customary with us. ” And we can't do it any other way.
And we still have a walk along the embankment, again with fabulous views.
It's great to sit here in the summer with a cup of coffee, a glass of wine or a glass of beer, well, in general, whatever you like, it will still be beautiful and sincere and fabulous.
What today, December 31, was reminded by a decorated Christmas tree and a New Year's fair.
We also had a wonderful lunch and a signature dessert called Kremna Rezina, which I really liked.
And again we gallop ahead - the capital of Slovenia Ljubljana and New Year's Eve.
The group landed on the square in front of the Ljubljana Castle ("Ljubljana Castle"), they did not go up to the castle, again, due to lack of time. There was already a stage on the square, music was playing, and everything reminded that today was December 31st.
The city is small, pretty, but I didn’t understand anything about it, the beauty of Triglav Park was still in front of my eyes.
And again at a gallop, ahead - a gala dinner and fireworks on the square.
And tomorrow we continue our acquaintance with Slovenia, and this is the Adriatic.
