Dreams Come True - Singapore
We flew to Singapore from Bali. We left this city at the end of the trip.
We arrived in Singapore at 11:45. We immediately felt the large size of the airport, took a cart for hand luggage and went towards the exit. Passed through passport control very quickly. In Singapore we had to spend 84 hours. The border guard asked for tickets for the return trip and, counting the dates several times, counted the dates to make sure that we were not violating the norm. At the exit from the airport there was a long queue that moved very quickly - it was a queue for a taxi. Taxi drove up every 2 minutes, quickly loaded people's luggage and left in the right direction. We did not have cash, we decided to clarify whether it is possible to pay by card - of course. When it was our turn, a car drove up to us - a Mercedes.
And so we got to the hotel, we paid with a card right in the car - 22 US dollars, the driver swiped the card over the terminal and took out a check from the armrest. Well, yes, of course, we are Singapore, and here you can pay by card everywhere! I liked it very much.
The first 2 nights we stayed at the Innotel hotel. Check in was quick, didn't have to wait until 15:00.
We ate sandwiches from the plane, drank coffee and went to explore the city.
The hotel was located near the park - Fort Canning Park. The park is very beautiful and well maintained. Everything is very clean. And it was clean until we saw a lot of young people sitting in groups on the grass with food and drinks. We walked through this park to the center. The road was winding, with steps. And then the skyscrapers appeared.
I really love this style of houses. Hi-tech style, style of glass, concrete, metal, cold. It attracts me more than the historical European cities, with their old streets. No wonder Dubai has become a favorite city, not even New York. And now thinking about what place Singapore will take in my heart
We left the park on Hill str. passed through the underpass and walked along the Singapore River. The river was brown, not very wide and tourist boats went along it
We passed the Elgin Bridge. Cafes, bars and restaurants lined the waterfront on the right hand side - this is a historic waterfront, in the past it was the busiest port. Then shops were built there, and now there are cafes and restaurants.
Behind the restaurants, skyscrapers, the business center of Singapore, were already flaunting. Then we took a few photos of the same, my favorite skyscrapers, sat on a bench, admired the city from this angle, and then crossed the river along the Caveenagh bridge, this is a pedestrian bridge, the oldest in Singapore, opened in 1870. This bridge still remains in its original form and shape. And then my husband looked at my always pleased face and said: “You are in Singapore! " - YES! Of course I'm in Singapore! - I realized, because my smile did not leave my lips. I dreamed about this city and Marina bay Sands for 4 years. But I knew I would be in this city and in this hotel. After all, dreams do come true.
From the Caveenagh bridge, there was a view of Anderson Bridge, but this is already a pedestrian-vehicle bridge.
And here we are standing at the traffic lights, crossing the street and exiting onto the Jubilee Bridge and Marina Bay Sands opens from there - it's amazing, it's an incredible design, it's impressive.
Especially when you know that in exactly 2 days, you will be living there. Like all other tourists, we take a lot of photos, both close-ups and so that the wheel fits in, and so that the lotus does not close, and also in this and another position! Super! We return to Merlion Park and my indignation and frustration knows no bounds. Merlion is closed for restoration - we apologize for…. The mood soured. But there is a way out - Sentosa, I hope to see him there.
And for the end of the day, we still have a Ferris wheel. Its cost was 33 Singapore dollars. The height is 165 meters, it is higher than London, but since I have not been to London, there is nothing to compare with. I didn't ride those rides. The view from it was very beautiful. There were a lot of people in the capsule - 15 people, and somehow it was not comfortable inside. Although the cabin can accommodate 28 people, but even with such a number it is impossible to go up to the window at the time you want and shoot a video or take a photo. The photos turned out not very good, because the wheel is highlighted and the light is reflected in the glass
I am glad that I visited it, the impressions were wonderful. Near the wheel we took a taxi and drove to the hotel. You need to get a good night's sleep so that tomorrow morning you can continue walking around the city. We woke up early, got ready, called Uber (in all three countries where we used it, its cost was lower than a city taxi) and went to the zoo.
Cost for two adults SGD 64. Child under 3 years free. Immediately issued a card and we went to the entrance. We immediately turned off the main road and ended up in the “Jurassic Park” because of each turn, dinosaurs of different sizes looked at you, and they all moved and “growled” – it’s an awesome feeling, as if you really are in the jungle with dinosaurs. My husband laughed why I look at artificial animals - when there is a whole park of living ones. But I was very interested, my daughter was afraid of course, so I had to go faster.
What can I say about the zoo - we walked around the whole - in 4 hours.
It is very beautiful, well-groomed, there are no high fences and a feeling of unity with animals is created.
Around many large animals - bears, elephants, giraffes, monkeys - there are benches that are covered with a canopy and you can hide from the rain.
There is a tap with drinking water nearby, I got some water for the baby and sat down to eat ice cream
How to be in another country and not use their public transport. We always travel by subway or bus.
A bus just approached us here, which we took to the subway, rode the subway and went to Chinatown. A huge minus for their buses, they can’t be in the cabin with an unfolded stroller, despite the fact that the driver saw that the child was sleeping, he had to take her in his arms.
We drove fast, and I admired the greenery around. There are many trees and bushes everywhere. This is the greenest city I have ever seen. Chinatown turned out to be very clean,
We found a street with souvenirs and cafes, walked through souvenir shops, ate ducks again and decided to walk to Marina Bay. Of course, I planned a completely different walk, I wanted to visit the temple, walk along more streets, but we walked a lot today.
It didn't take long to get to the embankment. But we walked along the skyscrapers and I rejoiced at this sight. They are chic, many of them had trees growing on the upper floors, some of them were in lianas, and palm trees grew nearby.
A lot of people gathered on the embankment to watch the laser show. I didn't have the strength to go to Marina bay Sands to see the show. We decided to stay on the other side across the river and saw laser beams shining from Marina Bay.
The morning was cloudy, it was drizzling, but the air temperature did not fall below 30 degrees.
After breakfast, we called an Uber and went to check into Marina Bay Sands.
Emotions overflowed!! ! One porter opened the car door, the second was already helping to get the suitcases from the trunk, and the third opened the doors in front of me, because the child was sitting in the stroller. We were helped by 3 people, but we did not drive up alone, there were also cars with visitors in front and behind. There were a lot of people inside the hotel.
Many were moving in, some were already moving out. We went to the counter, where there was no queue, and gave our printouts from the booking. We knew in advance that their check-in takes place after 15:00, but we did not know that we would immediately be given cards so that we could go up to the roof to the pool. And then the moment comes when all of us, and the child too, puts a pass card and we see this amazing view, this unreal pool
Palm trees grow on the roof, a few people lie on a sun lounger with a cocktail, some people swim, and many people take a photo! But there are still 3-4 hours left before check-in time. And in order not to be upset that at the moment we cannot be in this pool (every swimwear is in the suitcase), we are going to look at Gardens by the Bay.
From Marina bay Sands you can get there via a bridge and go down by elevator.
What are these huge trees from Avatar - this is an unreal, really futuristic landscape.
Marina bay Sands looks great from all angles and from the gardens as well
I knew in advance that of the two greenhouses (Flower dome and Cloud forest) I would choose the latter. I don’t like flowers that much, but I really want to see the highest artificial waterfall, and of course I want to walk along the bridge around the flowers that are planted in pots.
We went through the Chinese Garden and bought tickets to enter the cloud forest, the cost of it is 18 sing. dollars per person. And here we go and see a huge waterfall
Yes, it cannot be compared with real natural ones. But how artificial it is beautiful. As always and everywhere in Singapore, everything is done for people and for people like us with a stroller and a child, it is very convenient to take the elevator and start reviewing the top point. There are also different flowers growing there,
so I didn't regret that we took a ticket to only one park.
When we went outside, it was raining, and we had to shoot these huge Super trees from the side.
Our mini excursion near Marina bay Sands in the gardens by the bay is over. We needed to change money to pay for the hotel and have lunch. we walked through the DNA bridge (Helix Bridge) to the already familiar shopping center and took a couple of photos. The bridge also offers a beautiful view of the city, but there was no time to admire because it was raining all the time. Having dined as always in the same place as the previous days, having changed money, we went to check in.
We were given a room on the 42nd floor overlooking the gardens. The room was standard 39 meters,
but what quality everything is, natural wood furniture, marble countertop. Everything is very well made and tasteful. and small green bushes grew on a small balcony
We drank coffee in the room with great pleasure, fed our daughter and continued on our way. In a city like this, you don't want to waste a minute.
And how can you be in Singapore and not visit Sentosa Island. That's where we went. Since there was a bus stop 97 right next to the hotel to get to the monorail, we decided to use this particular road. And the cable car was postponed again for the next time, because we had enough viewing platforms on this trip, both the Ferris wheel and Marina Bay Sands itself.
We got to the monorail quickly, the fare was 3.20 sing. dollars per family. And the cost of the monorail is 4.00 sing. USD per person round trip.
We left half a day for Sentosa, because we visited the real Universal studios in Hollywood in Los Angeles. After all, this is not only an amusement park, but also places where famous films are really shot, and shooting takes place in Los Angeles. So, in other cities, only copies of a well-known studio (my opinion)
Of course, when my daughter grows up and we are in some city where there are Universal studios, we will definitely spend more time with her with great pleasure. But since the baby is not yet very interested in such attractions, and we have been to such attractions, we were interested in other places.
The Merlion was one of those places
It is very big and beautiful. How wonderful to be able to see him. After all, this is one of the symbols of Singapore. I didn't expect it to be so big. All Sentosa in the fountains and a lot of people. We took a little walk
We ate at McDonald's. In the evening I wanted to see 2 shows, but of course we did not have time for both. We visited one of them. Wings of Time. For 2 tickets my husband paid 36 sing. dollars How lucky we are that our daughter is free everywhere.
This is a laser show with fire and water effects, against the backdrop of a display of water, with beautiful music. We sat on the front row (tickets without seats) The child watched without moving all the time.
I liked the show too. Very colorful, bright.
We returned to the hotel and immediately went up to the pool. We did not get high-quality photos in the dark.
but you can imagine what a gorgeous view opens from the roof. The water in the pool is cool, 20 degrees. For me, it's cold, 26 suits me better. But this is probably for the best, people do not swim for hours, and there is an opportunity to take a photo. We sat until closing, handed over our towels and went to bed. In the morning there was an idea to wake up at 7 o'clock, so that there were fewer people and also take a photo of myself at dawn.
And then came the last day in Singapore. But for the whole day we will be able to enjoy the beauty from Marina bay Sands.
Before breakfast, we went up to the roof to the pool. The view is amazing. We shopped a little, took a few dozen photos, and went to breakfast.
Breakfast was included in the price. Everything was wonderful and tasty and corresponded to the level of the hotel. They also seat you at an already clean table, immediately offer tea or coffee, and then go and enjoy everything your heart desires. Fish, meat, fruits, vegetables, pastries, side dishes, desserts - everything is very tasty.
The view from the Jacuzzi is completely different. To the harbour, to many ships, to gardens.
It's great that you can combine cold water in the pool overlooking the city and hot water in the jacuzzi overlooking the Singapore Strait. What we later did was warm up in the jacuzzi and enjoy the coolness in the pool.
For lunch, of course, we went outside the hotel and decided to take a short trip to the well-known Orchard Rd.
Nothing out of the ordinary, except for the ION Orchard mall. Shopping street, well fenced off from the roadway, a large pedestrian area with benches. When we returned to the hotel, of course, by taxi, so as not to waste time and spend more time in Marina bay Sands. Near the entrance we noticed a couple of sports cars
In the evening, before dusk, we climbed to the observation deck of Marina Bay Sands.
How beautiful! Didn't want to leave. We silently walked along the lookout. I tried to capture in memory all these beauties.
During our entire trip, we were very tired, many flights and 4 hotels. And there was no strength left to go to Gardens by the Bay again and watch the night show. We decided to look from the room. Beautiful, but you need to see it below, standing under these tall trees, listening to great music. I did not fall in love with Singapore as I fell in love with Dubai, but I will definitely return to this city, only when?......
And then a link to my video about Singapore.
