Meeting in Paradise
I was sitting on the veranda of my room at the Meridian-Fisherman Hotel,
enjoying the aroma of a Cuban cigar paired with a good cognac.
In the Seychelles, as is often the case on distant islands, it got dark early and
along with the sunset, it became comfortable and pleasant, which allowed me to diversify my carefree life with cognac and reflections under the African starry sky. I flew to Mahe three days ago and spent whole days on the largest beach
Beau Vallon, which started right at my hotel and described a three-kilometer arc
resting against the thickets of primordial nature.
Long choosing an island and a hotel, initially leaning towards a more secluded place, but
already on the spot I realized that I was staying in the most successful, albeit rather expensive hotel.
In all other respects, the guides were right, I was met by pristine nature and real island life, which did not disappoint and was amazing with pictures and landscapes.
On the first day, I saw a small fishing boat moored right on the beach, and swarthy guys pulled out their prey - some decent tuna, some small fish, and, a miracle, a huge one and a half meter dark blue marlin. Traveling a lot around countries and continents, having visited places where these long-nosed beauties are found, I have never seen them as a catch and it was a pity that such a huge wonderful fish would no longer cut the sea with its strong body. And of course I immediately remembered what I read as a child, Hemingway's story "The Old Man and the Sea", which made a very strong emotional impression with its life reality
