Tour of Russia in two weeks
Our journey across Russia began with a visit to St. Petersburg, Moscow, and ended with Suzdal. A separate story will be devoted to Moscow and St. Petersburg, and in this review I will describe the Vladimir-Suzdal direction. It has been a very interesting and rewarding trip. My sister lives in the city of Kovrov, Vladimir region. She drove me and my teenage daughter by car to the cities nearby Kovrov - Vladimir and Suzdal. Before Vladimir, they stopped near the Bogolyubsky Monastery and watched the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl. A path of their tiles is laid to it right across the field. Blooming fields all around. And in the spring, when the river floods, the church remains on the island. The plan for visiting these wonderful cities was drawn up in advance. But since we do not know the city, we relied on the navigator. It's not always reliable. We traveled all over Vladimir in search of the Patriarchal Gardens, and they ended up next to the Golden Gate. But the city was studied. We watched the Complex of Temples and an observation deck, a monument to Andrei Rublev, just walked around the city. The next day we went to the new city of Dobrograd (at first they wanted to call it GOODWILL). This is a health and entertainment complex near the town of Kovrov. It is located in the forest. There is wonderful nature, pine trees, a lake with swans, a rope park, bicycles for rent. There was an orienteering competition that day, so we didn't ride bikes. But we walked through the park, rested in hammocks. And we ate in a cafe, I forgot its name, it seems "Stork's Nest". After that, my sister took us to a wonderful place called the Taneyev Estate. This is an open air museum. Newlyweds like to come here, conduct educational excursions for schoolchildren, and young artists reproduce in the paintings elements of the life of landlords of the 17th-19th centuries. To the longest
on the day the Great Patriotic War began, June 22, we went to the ancient city of Suzdal. The weather was not good, rainy and cold. In general, this year is a cold summer. Suzdal conquered me. A small one-story city is so filled with history and exoticism that the presence of the ancient Russian spirit is felt. We admired the view of the city from the height of the bell tower of the Women's Rizopolozhensky Monastery. We walked along Lenin Street (surprisingly, the monument to Lenin on the square in front of the city administration is alive and well). We visited the complex of temples. They ate what they brought with them. It turned out to be expensive in local cafes. In general, our two-week tour of the cities of Russia, we succeeded well. It was especially interesting for my teenage daughter, she finally got distracted from the Internet.
