A four-hour journey, or Golden Autumn in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin (photo walk)
A bit of the history of my city, as the chronicle testifies, Nizhny Novgorod was founded by Prince Yuri Vsevolodovich of Vladimir in 1221. The city became one of the most important fortresses in the southeast of Russia, its army defended the borders of the state from Tatar raids. Wooden-earth fortifications appeared here in the 13th century. The first stone fortress was built in the 1370s. The current stone Kremlin with 13 towers was built by order of Vasily III in 1508. The construction was led by the Italian architect Pietro Francesco. Throughout history, this fortress has never been captured.
And a few more from official sources. The Kremlin is located on the right high bank, at the confluence of the Volga and Oka rivers. The northwestern part of the Kremlin descends almost to the foot of the slopes, the southeastern part overlooks Minin and Pozharsky Square, and the southwestern part rises above the deep Pochainsky ravine and National Unity Square. The two-kilometer wall had 13 towers: 5 - rectangular in plan - are passable (or gate) and 8 towers are round deaf.

In August, there was the anniversary of our city: it turned 800 years old, and since it was impossible to break through on the day of the city, and it was simply not possible to see something because of the number of people, and where it was possible to get before the holiday brought one frustration, but that's enough about sad.
And suddenly, the working day and a gift from the leadership from lunch are absolutely free, the sun, golden autumn, good mood, I go for a walk around the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin (or rather, along the wall of our Kremlin, it was completely opened), to see what was done for the anniversary. And it was the right decision, I invite you to take a walk with me, for me this is one of my favorite places for walking, meeting, a place where you can sit in a cafe in the Kladovaya Tower, and shout in the center of the Nikolskaya Tower and listen to the echo flying through the tower, and What is the fastest way to get to St. Rozhdestvenskaya (then Mayakovsky St. ), trips to concerts. And it was a little scary that all the magic, memories and beauty of this whole place would disappear.

As always, the entrance is through the Dmitrievskaya Tower (they walked along the wall of their Kremlin more than once, but only half of the wall was open, and now it is completely open, you have to look). At the entrance I wonder if it is possible to start the journey along the wall from the other side. Categorically: "No" already walking along the wall - I understood why.
The weather is good and there are many excursion groups for both adults and children - the children examine military equipment with great pleasure and curiosity. There are many guests of the city, and local residents are also not averse to taking a walk and enjoying the last good days.
And now a beautiful building peeps through the foliage. The building of the City Duma is a monument of urban planning and architecture in the historical center of the city. Built in 1899-1904. And then the photo-hunter woke up and then I just go and take a picture of what comes in my way and enjoy the good weather.
And here the summer and winter routes are marked, the winter short one was passed more than once, and now we need to overcome the summer one as well.
And these are our steep steps, but if you adapt, it will be convenient and even comfortable to go down.
And the work is going on and after the anniversary there is still a lot of work to be done. The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker at the Military Manege has been completely restored, although work is still going on around.

And looking into the loophole, you can fantasize that this is a look into the past.
This is an arrow at the confluence of the Oka and Volga rivers, the view simply fascinated and not only me, told the guests of the city how to get there and see the Cathedral and the stadium.
Such grandiose works are still going on and it seems there is no end in sight.
Restoration work is still going on in many towers, and when everything is restored, small museums will be opened in the towers.
And in this beautiful place, with icy conditions, it was always terrible to go down, or rather, probably, to say move out at the fifth point, sometimes the passages were simply blocked, so it was always slippery here. True, now the steps alternate with tiles, so we also made the railing, let's hope that everything will be fine and you can walk here at any time.
When the Kremlin wall was not fully opened, it was an exit from the wall, but now they have restored and opened the Ivanovskaya Tower and closed the exit.
But they didn't abandon us and made another way out for people who really understand that they won't be able to overcome everything.
And this is an indicator of how much I have traveled and how much I still have to go, but I am interested in going through everything to the end and I am already going into the unfamiliar and unknown.
