Zamek w Hubkowie
Ukraine, berezno
Gubkovsky Castle rises on the right bank of the Sluch River on the castle hill. The construction of the stone castle began in the 15th century. Previously, there was a wooden structure that suffered during the Mongol-Tatar invasion. At the beginning of the 18th century, the castle belonged to the Polish Danilovich family, the castle had its own burgomaster and lavniki. In 1704, the Russian troops of Peter I destroyed the castle, after which it was not restored. Only the ruins of walls, several towers and a covered castle well have survived to this day.

A stone fortress appeared here in the 15th century. The first mention of the castle dates back to 1504, when its settlements and the castle church were completely destroyed by the Tatars. From the beginning of the XVI century. the magnates Semashki owned the local castle, and in the 17th century. the castle passed to the Danilovich family, and from them to the Tsetners. The castle in Gubkov was considered one of the most perfect defense complexes in the Volyn school in terms of composition and proportions.
