A stone fortress appeared here in the 15th century. The first mention of the castle dates back to 1504, when its settlements and the castle church were completely destroyed by the Tatars. From the beginning of the XVI century. the magnates Semashki owned the local castle, and in the 17th century. the castle passed to the Danilovich family, and from them to the Tsetners.
The castle in Gubkov was considered one of the most perfect defense complexes in the Volyn school in terms of composition and proportions. The building was like a trapezoid in plan, it had four corner towers with loopholes, an entrance gate and a drawbridge, there were residential and outbuildings in the yard. In the courtyard of the castle there was a deep well made of stones. Under the castle were cellars and a prison.
Now, on the 30-meter castle hill, towering over the Sluch River, the remains of the castle are visible. Only part of the walls and a few towers have survived to this day. In addition, there you can see the covered castle well.
The ruins are placed above a steep slope and a river, separated from other buildings.
To date, Castle Hill is part of the Nadsluchany Regional Landscape Park.
