The castle is located on a high hill in the historical center of the city, it can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. Many footpaths lead to the castle, and from Krekova Square you can take the funicular up here (every 10 minutes every day; opening hours are the same as at the castle, for a fee). I climbed the old crooked street and quite a lot of steps. The slopes are covered with greenery, so when it's hot it's very pleasant there. Entrance to the castle grounds is free. There is a restaurant in the courtyard of the castle, a gallery near the entrance where you can buy or just admire the wonderful works of local artisans, further, in the tower, there is a Virtual Museum where you can get acquainted with the history of the castle and the city.→
