Resort park in Essentuki

russia, Yessentuki
The park was founded in 1847 by Count Mikhail Vorontsov, the then governor of the Caucasus. According to him, he decided to decorate this "naked and ugly place." Seedlings of trees and shrubs from the botanical gardens of Tiflis (now Tbilisi) and Warsaw were brought to the territory of the future park. Two thousand soldiers were involved in the work, who planted seven and a half thousand trees. After a short time, the park already had about 200 species of trees and shrubs, many of which have survived to this day. The main alley of the park, which originates from the central square of Essentuki, is "decorated" by various fountains, gazebos and sculptures. All existing entrances to the spa park were built in 1955 in antique style.

Everyone has a different understanding of the park. For me, this is really a park: perennial trees, shady alleys, benches, many gazebos, grottoes, sculptures, flower beds, paths, birds sing everywhere, you can listen, squirrels run and beg for food. All this creates an atmosphere of relaxation from the bustle of the city. Part of the park, or rather its central entrance and the alley to the source, are the most ennobled, decorated with fountains, but also abound with merchants. And part of the park has many paths and unkempt paths, along which those who want to feel like in the forest walk.
