Coimbra is called the "city of students" - and this is no coincidence, because there is the oldest university in Portugal, located in the upper part of the city. Its vast university complex is divided into 2 parts - Alta and Sofia and still keeps its centuries-old student traditions and customs. Acquaintance with this educational institution often begins with its spacious courtyard, which is surrounded on three sides by university buildings with beautifully designed facades, and on its fourth side there is a terrace with a wonderful view of the city and the Mondego River.→
