On the old market square (along the western wall of the Town Hall), there is another very interesting fountain-monument called Studzenka Bamberki (Bamberka Well), closely connected with the history of the 18th century. It was then that poor Catholic farmers from the Bamberg region (in Bavaria, Germany) were invited (or they themselves asked, no one remembers) to come and settle in the villages left after the Great Northern War of 1700-1721 and the plague. Those who came were nicknamed the "bumbers" and quickly assimilated into the local community.→
