The wooden church was built in the 14th century. In the first half of the 15th century, after a fire, a Gothic church was built by order of King Wladyslaw Jagiello. The current church was built after the demolition of the Gothic at the expense of the Krakow Academy in 1689-1703 according to the design of Tillman de Gameren. This is one of the most beautiful baroque buildings in Poland - a three-nave basilica, covered with a cylindrical ceiling with lunettes and a dome. On both sides of the facade of the tower, which are topped with late Baroque helmets designed by Father Sebastian Serakowski.→
