The monument to the fallen workers of the shipyard is dedicated to the victims of the public protest against the communist government divorced from reality. The monument was built in 1980, after a strike at the Gdansk Shipyard. Its construction was carried out by a team of shipyard workers. The monument consists of three connected 42-meter crosses.

Approaching the shipyard and the port, you cannot help but notice this monument consisting of several high crosses with anchors on them.→

Modern history of Poland in monuments
On Plac Solidarnosci there is a monument to the victims of the events of December 1970. Then a wave of protests against the current state system swept through northern Poland. The demonstrations were suppressed, several dozen people died. The monument in the form of three obelisks with a height of 42 (according to the number of dead) meters each and anchors crucified on top was opened on the tenth anniversary of the tragic events, in 1980. "...The fallen - as a sign of eternal memory, the ruling - as a warning that not a single social conflict should be resolved by force, fellow citizens - as a sign of the hope that evil can be defeated.→
