The Bridge of Sighs is an ancient arched bridge that connects the building of the Doge's Palace, which housed the courtroom, and the prison building. Sighs here symbolize not romance, but sadness. These are the sighs of the condemned, who, passing over this bridge, looked at Venice for the last time. Inside the bridge is ordinary, but outside is much more beautiful. The bridge can be seen twice - by sailing under the bridge on a gondola, and by visiting an excursion to the Doge's Palace, where you can go over the bridge from the Palazzo Ducale to the prison building.→
