To be honest, when I visited Milan, I did not expect that the Cathedral would leave vivid impressions. Well, the cathedral and the cathedral, as in every European city. But when I went to the square in front of the cathedral, they walked from the Milan canals, it turns out I went straight to the main entrance. The cathedral is simply blinding! The only thing I regret is that I was passing through Milan and was only near the cathedral in the evening. Now I want to go back and take a walk during daylight hours.

Gorgeous cathedral. I took a ticket including entrance to the cathedral and terraces with a rise to the roof. It was not the interior decoration that impressed me, but the view of the city. Tip: in order not to stand in several queues, first go up to the roof and then go down the elevator straight down to the cathedral. The queue for the terraces starts on the left side if you stand facing the main entrance. Stock up on patience. The queues are big. Better to come early in the morning.

Once again I encountered in the Milan Cathedral with an unfriendly attitude towards tourists. Before that, there was an unpleasant incident in the Cathedral of St. Anthony in Padua. I was photographing interiors in Milan when a short woman resolutely approached me and demanded to stop shooting, saying that photography was forbidden here. Dozens of people were doing this around, but I was the only one who caused anger. The woman retired to the office, stating that a prohibition notice was hanging at the entrance.

When you go out to the square in front of the Cathedral, and the sun illuminates every curlicue, it seems that it is floating in the sky like a cloud. Built in the flamboyant Gothic style of white marble, the Milan Cathedral is the 5th largest in the world. Well, probably the most famous long-term construction in history. It began to be built at the end of the 14th century, and completed under Napoleon. That's probably why he turned out so great. The most significant values in it are the gilded statue of the patroness of Milan - Madonna, the "terrible" statue of the martyr St.
