Fort Aguada

This is one of the most famous forts in Goa. Built in the early 17th century, it served as a bulwark against British and German advances. The fort has not been destroyed for centuries. Until now, all the arches and 79 cannons have been preserved in excellent condition, with the help of which the inhabitants defended themselves from the invaders.

The main attraction of Candolim.
The fort consists of a lower and an upper part. We were only in the lower bastions of the fort. It was interesting for me to see the bastions, which rise above the sea and are in fairly good condition. The coast near the fort is rocky and very different from the local beaches. From the third bastion, we watched the dolphins and a bunch of boats with tourists who were taken out to show these dolphins. It was funny to watch when, when a dolphin appeared, all the boats rushed to this place. By the way, I got to the fort by swimming, breaking 3.→

Impressive building
If you are going to Old Goa and Panaji, look into Ford Aguada, he will be on his way. The construction is quite impressive and in good condition, it is quite possible to walk along the fortress walls for an hour.→
