Victory Monument

The Victory Monument in Netanya
Israel, Netanya
The Victory Monument was officially opened in 2012 in honor of the victory of the Red Army over Nazi Germany. The monument is located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, next to the Yad LaBanin memorial to the fallen soldiers of Israel. The memorial complex is a gallery of memory, made in the form of a black bunker, and a pair of white wings. The Wings of Victory are made of white stone and are 15 meters high. The monument symbolizes the genocide of the Jewish people, the fall of Nazism and the creation of an independent state of Israel.

I would like to talk about my visit to the main attraction of Netanya, which is not included in the excursion routes. If desired, any tourist who is interested in the topic of the Great Patriotic War and the Holocaust can visit it. We are talking about the Victory Memorial, which was opened in 2012. In the early 2000s, a "fashion" appeared in some countries to demolish/relocate monuments related to the Great Patriotic War. They carried it in Estonia, blew it up in Georgia...And only in Israel, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, was a modern memorial to the memory of the soldiers of the Red Army over Nazi Germany built - the Victory Memorial.
