The beautiful, shady city park of Chania is a green and well-groomed oasis located in the city center and is a great place for walks and recreation for children and adults. The park is located between two shopping streets Andrea Papandreou and Janakaki. In the park with old trees, lawns and cobbled paths there is a cafeteria, a small zoo and a lake with swans and ducks. Younger visitors can have fun on the well-equipped playground or in the library with a large selection of games. The park (Kipos) was laid out in 1870 by order of the Turkish Governor-General of Crete Reuf Pasha and met European standards of the time.→
