The Feldherrnhalle is a loggia in the southern part of the Odeonsplatz square in the Munich district of Maxvorstadt. Located in the pedestrian area and is one of the attractions of the Bavarian capital. It was built in 1841-1844 by the architect Friedrich von Gaertner by order of King Ludwig I of Bavaria.

Monuments: a bronze statue of Count Tilly by Ferdinand von Miller based on a sketch by Ludwig Schwanthaler; a bronze statue of Prince Wrede by Ferdinand von Miller, based on a sketch by Ludwig Schwanthaler; monument to the Bavarian army (sketch by sculptor Ferdinand von Miller, 1892); stone lions at the main staircase (architect Wilhelm von Ruemann, 1906).

The Munichers themselves are ironic about the name "Pavilion of the Bavarian commanders", hinting, respectively, at the origin and strategic talent of the immortalized Tilly and Wrede: "One is not a Bavarian, and the other is not a commander. " Personally, of all the statues of the Feldherrnhalle, I liked the lions the most. Reliable all the same, Rü mann turned out to be the king of beasts.
