The Zhoekvar Gorge is located in the western part of Gagra, not far from the Gagra fortress. Along the bottom of the gorge flows the mountain river Zhoekvara, after which the gorge was named. A railway passes over the entrance to the gorge, and the Gagra railway station is also located here. Interesting places in the gorge are a tunnel in the rock and waterfalls. In these places there are dense thickets of boxwood. chestnut and other exotic trees.
