Almaty-Langkawi-Kuala Lumpur
First part: Air Astana. Skip if you don't fly with this company.
Air Astana broke all plans with the breakdown of its board, the flight was delayed, then they sat on the plane for a long time, then turned back to Almaty on an hour-long flight. Instead of a departure at 21.30, we were still trying to find out at the airport at 4 am what we should all do. The airport is very small, not suitable for expectations, food at crazy prices: water in a bottle, which is 50 tenge in the city, there is 500. After long attempts to get clear answers from ordinary employees of Airastan and the Airport, whom the authorities gave to the crowd to eat, it became clear to us that We still don’t see water and food, we have connecting flights, there’s no Wi-Fi, there’s nowhere to sleep, you can return the ticket and you have to wait for the money, no one will compensate for the lost money for the rest, we started to survive. Those who were with children were taken to a cold hotel until 6 am. The crew was nearby. Everyone was lightly dressed, as they flew to a hot country, we saw the sleeve from the plane only during the first landing, we cooled off as much as we could. At 6 they brought me back and made me wait until nine, I think. We were already in a state of non-station. We were given cooled down airplane food and cold water and juice in order to finish us off completely. Then everyone was packed into a smaller plane, business class flew economy for a lot of money. As a result, the arrival was at a time when they no longer fly, in the deep evening.
Second part: Domestic flight and airports. Skip it if you're a no-frills flyer.
Asians don't fly at night. Air Malaysia in the same airport terminal, tickets only for the next day at 9pm. The hotel is $277 regardless of your needs for the night, really chic. If you catch the last Air Asia flight at about 22:00, you need to quickly take a taxi to another airport 30min Satellite. Tickets may or may not be available. How ours survived: they took a hotel near the airport of arrival, inexpensively, took off on the morning flights of Air Malaysia, which they were knocked out by the tour agency that sent them. We did not have tickets online or at the box office. The Air Asia ticket office is closed. We are solo travelers by taxi to another airport. There's an online purchase for a 7.30 flight and a long wait at McDonald's. At Airports: the central one is cleaner, more fancy, more comfortable, you can lie on chairs, wi-fi, food and more. Satellite - the departure of Air Asia is terrible compared to it, there is wi-fi, but the waiting conditions are filthy. Just waited for the flight. Before the plane on foot, be prepared for this. Planes of Air Asia are better than Malaysia Air.
Part three: Langkawi Tanjing Rhu hotel.
An excellent hotel, the beach is beautiful, the room is the simplest chic, the staff is excellent, Anastasia the employee is very kind, you can be sure to take it. The room has everything, even more than what you need. The newlyweds will like it very much, such a relaxing hotel. Europeans as always around the pool, the beach is free. We swam almost alone. Low tide in the morning, very shallow. You can see the photo if you fill in the Tanjing Rhu beach. Near Four Seasons.
There are duty free shops on the island, alcohol is cheap, seafood.
The shopping street is small, there is an Oceanarium, the locals call it the Aquarium.
Reminds me of Koh Samui, but Koh Samui is more fancy and more touristy. I didn’t like the local Chaweng-type beach on Koh Samui, it was too crowded. If you have some advice: from mosquitoes, Datai beach is still good, take alcohol in Kuala Lumpur, everything is more expensive at the airport in Duty Free, the seafood restaurant has the word Orchid in the name. You can get burned quickly, food is not expensive. Only seafood will cost more, but they are worth it.
Part Four: Kuala Lumpur Hotel Trades.
We took in the view of the Towers. Got the 27th floor. Registration of such rooms on the 32nd floor. It is better to ask from 28 and for rooms away from the elevators, then you will get the best view. I liked the hotel with the view from the window, near the park, near the mall, breakfast. Who registers on the 32nd floor can have breakfast there, but on the 5th floor there is a richer table. Can snack in the afternoon and drink alcohol after 5pm for free on the 32nd floor. We had enough for dinner. The hotel can be confidently recommended for location, price, service. But if you are a shopaholic, then it is better to take the Marriott hotel and those located nearby on the shopping street.
Everything opens at 10 and closes at 10 pm. Except maybe a few bars (one of them in Tradees on the 33rd floor). You need to have time to eat and buy what you need exactly before 10 pm, this is not convenient for tourists. We took a tourist bus for one day, so look around. Stop between Tradees and Mall near located. The aquarium is also close by. The location of the hotel is very convenient, it is 2 min. On foot along the first floor of the transition or along this transition along the street, who is not hot. On the same passage, having risen near the Aquarium (Oceanarium) to the floor for about 20 minutes on foot along an air-conditioned passage, you can reach the Pavilion, a shopping street. At first we went by taxi, there quickly, back cant - the bypass road is expensive and long - we refused and walked on foot to the junction to the hotel. 5 minutes. Taxi. On the last day, we discovered this walking path at ten in the evening, when there was a huge queue for a taxi. Orient yourself according to the signs. The pavilion is better than the mall next door. Next time I would rather take a Marriott or another right on the shopping street. Taxi drivers fool around, bargain. Tip: choose a hotel carefully, such areas have been seen on a tour bus and such hotels, the whole vacation can be ruined. With a credit card in the Superheroes department, they paid and they put a block on the amount of the purchase double. There's only cash! There were no problems with the rest. In general, the country is not expensive. Happy travels!
